Gosh, clicked straight away when I saw this notification. You were an amazing source of inspiration for me when I began junk journaling ... and you still are. I am a paper addict at heart and love making and filling journals. When I began watching your channel years ago I realised that I wasn't alone. Now I have a craft room luxuriously all to me, my paint and paper. Do more videos, we love you jennibellie...hugs from Cheshire, joie 💜🌿🍄
Hi Joie! It seems that Jenniebellie has been an inspiration to so many wonderful youtubers as yourself. I have followed Jennie for years snd years. Jenniebellie, thank you because you are the reason I was brave enough to make my own journal years ago. =^..^=
Yay! Welcome back Jennibellie. Although I am a Ning member too, I haven't been around for a while and it's always good to see you on RUclips too. Joie, I absolutely love your videos and style. Jennibellie was my original inspiration too, so I shouldn't be surprised that you are also a big fan. Thank you both for sharing. You not only encourage and inspire me to create, but I am thinking about sharing too. ❤️🤗
Every time I see a notification on a video of yours, it gives me a smille on my face. I know I'll be going to see something fresh and great. "Not all of the same" junk journal things.
I bought a shed 5 years ago and my son was converting it into a tiny home for me on my daughters property. I had been living with a nephew and his family. I did some junk journaling while there. When I moved into my tiny home, it wasn’t finished. I lived in it for 4 years uncompleted. My art supplies stayed in storage. I had no room. Then I lived with another daughter for a year. Since then, we gutted my tiny home and started over having an open concept. I now have more room. I move in, in about 2 weeks. I’m excited to pull out my stash and start playing again. This video has given me permission to play with no expectations of being perfect!! Can’t wait!!
How has this been going Angela? I go back and forth wanting a big house with a big studio (which I can't afford lol) to wanting to be in a tiny house. I liked one video where I saw a woman who had a tiny house AND a second tiny house as a studio! That would be so awesome!
Thank you for sharing cause sometimes I find myself with "creative" block. Kind of like writer's block, 😂 when you just stare at the blank page wondering what to do. You have given a variety of ideas to counter that stalemate in not being able to put something, anything on the page. I also like your mark making tools; a fork covered in rubber bands, the blending makeup sponges, a mascara wand. Excellent! I mean, who knew? I wouldn't have even considered it. Anywho, I've rambled on long enough. Thank you for sharing your creations and ideas. I really appreciate it. Keep creating and stay safe. 😊❤️
I love that you've essentially given us permission to not spend hours and hours to do something. I know it's not something anyone ever needs permission to do, but sometimes it's so freeing to hear someone say that it's ok. Love your work. And how many other people out there inspire people to go rummaging through their trash? 😜🤣❤️. Love it!
I have to say that I give you all the credit for my starting to do junk journals. Your early videos absolutely thrilled me and I could hardly sit still after watching...I had to jump up and try to do whatever it was that I had just watched you do! Remember the things you made from tissue boxes? Cereal boxes? I had never seen anything so fantastic! The idea of using "trash" for art supplies was mind opening. And everything you made was beautiful. So, thank you so much for all you have done for me. Much love to you.
All those cereal boxes, packaging and random pieces of cardboard that I've been hoarding for the last few years finally have a purpose! Thank you for showing me what I can use them for :) Can't wait to get started on my own junk journal ^^
I loved this! Seeing the way you take so many different items for mark-making, and such to make art is fascinating. I have struggled for years finding my groove, going from one kind of journal to another without settling on something that makes me happy, but this video has helped revitalize me. I realized I was trying too hard to keep everything in one journal, even when the binding broke, that I was painting myself into a corner that turned art into stress. Thank you, this video has helped me so much. I can't wait to try my hand at it again, with renewed vigor. I also really liked how you talked about the little, quick things you can do, even when you don't have huge chunks of time, that has been a stressor in the past. I would want to make art, but watching someone spend hours making art never fit into my schedule, and would leave me frustrated that I couldn't replicate what I was watching. It was like my brain was waiting for permission to be creative, because I started to feel like if I couldn't create in exactly the same way, I couldn't create at all. It's making me rethink the journals I have abandoned in a new way, rather than stressing about how it will look in the end. Thank you again.
I totally agree with your approach. I started out painting then decided to creat an art journal. I guess I am a painter at heart. The art journal allows you to be free and explore different mediums, techniques and styles on your own time. I like to start a project, step away and thinking about it and then come back. It really helps.
Just found you via Treasure Books. Love your messy table and use of recycle and use in your work. Your Philosophy is a perfect fit for me. Greetings from the Senora desert in So. CA.
Thank you so much for sharing your art with us. You are such an inspiration. I want to say that aside from the inner critic being hard to quiet, having too many supplies is also a BIG issue when it comes to this kind of junk journaling. Some times less is better and you have a wonderful way of showing exactly that. ✨💜
I’ve subscribed to this channel for about ten years, and yes, I’m a member at journal.ning,.com, but I have never browsed much over there, so it is a delight to see you back here. I love most when you use your scraps because that’s how I do things. Whatever is on my desk is inspiration next time! I enjoy learning how to make things from what we have at home rather than purchasing them. I also started saving junk for junk journals because of you!! Well actually, it is more truthful to say I quit feeling guilty about hoarding stuff that others call junk. I tell myself it is an artistic style and pat myself on the back for saving so much money! Probably my favorite thing was making paper beads from glossy sales brochures. But I loved painting cereal or tissue boxes and cutting them freehand into flower embellishments and buttons. (Although I did buy a Martha Stewart punch that makes a beautiful one-inch button.) I love when you just let us peak in on your process of creating whatever you are currently doing-Like these mixed media pages. It gives me permission to let ideas flow without hearing the inner critic. (I am blessed with two critics, one on each shoulder, and usually they criticize different things-and nothing I do seems to escape being noticed.) Thank you for always reminding me that if it doesn’t work, just paint on gesso and start again. Anything glued on underneath just gives it more depth and texture. Come to think, it is probably you who inspired me to consider mixed media. The technique I can’t master is taking just five minutes to do something. I seem to go all in or not at all. This is like seeing my best friend after seven years. Welcome back! Love you!!
Wow, thumbs up, I love your creativity, just found you today. I subscribed without watching a dozen videos first! Love the kind words and encouraging word. Keeping it real! Thanks😀
I'm so glad I've found u. I don't like buying the kits that others have on offer as I don't have much money so everything I use I get from family, friends n from work that they were throwing out 😂
Thank you! For the inspiration for my oddities I have set back “for later use” waiting for the idea to come and risking its return to the recycling bin as it builds up. I will just have to play on it and enjoy the alchemy.
wonderful. Treasure Books mentioned you in her "about me" video as the first one to totally inspire her. Credit where do. I think what many of us do, is watch others and think we need to be like them to be good. Be as clean or as neat, be a certain style, etc. What you seem to do is inspire the spirit. It's simply wonderful seeing young people so very conscious of waste. Just wonderful. Thank you. Your aesthetic is magnificent as well.
This was very relaxing to watch and inspiring. I get overwhelmed with all the *WHITE PAGES* LOL. I think I just need to swipe some paint on to get a background started. Thanks so much for sharing. 🌺🌈♥️
I just wanted to say thank you for this video, I got very inspired, I have recently had a creative block and then I ran into your video and enjoyed it!
I always get "precious"....😂❤ at least I have stopped binning unliked pages and now am waiting - altering - thinking - and hoping "preciousness" descends... ie I like it!❤
I work in a nursing home with ladies who are creative, don’t get out, and can’t spend a lot of time focused on any one thing. Weather due to a short attention span or an inability to sit for a long time. I have one lady who already cuts thing out to glue in her journal, but she’s worried a „ going crazy“ after about a year in the facility. I have showed her some of your videos and I‘m encouraging her to give it a try. Thank you for being brave enough to be here and be exactly who you are. I will be showing her this video. Oh and I want to try the friend pages thing as a fun way to connect with my connect with my very creative daughters that live on the other side of the country in different states, I have 4. love you always
Feel like my creative block is melting! Thanks for recommending this video. It was exactly the right one! And please do more of these. Lots more! Off to explore more of your videos and stay up too late! Wooohhoooo! Too much? nah 😎💯🥰
I'm really glad you showed us this video because I have had it in my mind that I have to go out and buy 100s of dollars of supplies and print a bunch of kits to make junk journals. This way seems way more manageable and authentic to the artist. Really loved watching your process.
'buy 100s of dollars of supplies and print a bunch of kits to make junk journals'....to make junk journals?? Journals out of JUNK?? lol glad something clicked and seemed a little off with that.
I am so glad you are back on RUclips. I’ve missed you and though I’ve been in a big creative slump lately just watching your process has piqued my interest in a way that I have not felt in years! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
"I need to create. It's interesting." gem for the day. Love your playlist for this video. Those jars - really silly and probably a 'doh!' moment when you tell me the answer ... are they hot glued together? Stay safe and sane all over this wonderful world during these unprecedented moments in time.
Yes, I loved what you did !! Thank you so much for the inspiration and for the ideas, and also for all the tips !!! I love your approach and yes, 2 minutes in the craftroom, whether doing something or not, are 2 minutes of happiness ! Take care, Natalie
yay hehe 😁i'm famous x2 lol. This video was so relaxing and I really needed a break Thank you ❤. I love your backgrounds. I really need to get into doing this kind of stuff again its really educational/informative to just play with the paints and textures and they would look awesome even out of journals and used for art backgrounds too. so juicy, I need more colour in my life!
So this is my second comment and third time watching this video, junk journaling is new to me and reminds me so much of Saori style weaving where the background ( warp) is black and then anything goes, it is freestyle weaving and what I do that is just like this form of journaling. Jenny do you have a course that speaks more about this kind of journaling? I am currently enjoying the 7 days ritual and Raw journaling ( your Raw journaling is like a sacred space practice for me, really special, spiritual and self-nourishing. Thank you, you have really opened my creative world up another notch.🙏💕
It is good to see you again!! I love the idea of just getting in & doing SOMETHING. I have a lot of junk mail that I've collected that needs to be transformed into art!! Great motivation to just not overthink and just let it flow.
As always, lady... thank you! :D I fall out of junk journaling and back in again as often as it seems I fall into and out of everything these days. I just finished clearing out and am in the middle of a destash where I'm keeping only the bits that I know I am in love with because I keep using them. I adore that you're making this fun thing over time and making it all about the things you love.
Really enjoying having you back on you tube. Love the way you recycle and use up everything!! Great video - I don’t always have long to do some art so great to see how you can build it up!
Oooh! Seeing that loosely bound journal inspired a great idea. I have an accordian pleated folder that is falling apart. I was trying to think of what I would do with it. I love the idea of.using it for loose leaf pages. I think it came to mind because the paper you were using reminds me of when YOU were using up a greenish khaki accordian pleated folder in one of your videos. I had forgotten about it until today's vid. I have some collaging materials that I think I shall use up with the folder! Thanks for sharing!! I always enjoy your page process videos, immensely!! Sincerely, Victoria
This is so insanely inspiring! It is fueling ideas for me in so many aspects of my creativity. Small spurts are what I can easily manage and it’s such a joy to return to a work in progress and just keep adding layers. Round 9 was my favourite and the music is so uplifting. Thank you so much, I just applied to join your community but I messed-up getting the profile photo linked so I will update it if you accept my request. It looks amazing!
You're in the community, whoop whoop!! You're lucky, I usually just delete applications I think are spammers/dodgy, but something told me not to with your request even though the 'backpacks' threw me a bit lol have fun looking around :) (PS there's less than one day left to join Sept's Art Swap if you want to do that, just giving you a heads up if you did)
jennibellie Thank you so much Jenni, I feel very lucky😊 We are moving and everything is packed so no swap this time plus, not sure I have “ swap worthy” goodies yet, This week I will enjoy exploring your beautiful community at every tea break between patching walls and sealing- up boxes. Again, I am so grateful to have found you 🙏
Thanks awesome. This was just the thing I need to get back to doing. You've inspired me. I have been struggling these days during lockdown in Melb Australia. Thank you
Yay!!! This is my favorite! Like for serious , favorite ever. You gave me so many ideas and honestly confidence. Thank you. I just absolutely love this. You rock! Keep em coming. And much love to you 💖♥️♥️ so excited to start this up again. 🥰💎💝 And you are genius about the packaging of our skin care and makeup containers. Gonna pick up some of the mini off brand beauty blenders today for sure. Thanks again. 💖
Thank you for all the great inspiration and those were neat items to use for mark making and such. I never thought to use the roller from deodorant for example... =) I really want to make junk journals.... I keep trying... I have made a few.... but after the base is made, I get stuck.... but this was inspirational and gave me good ideas on how to fill the pages. =) Thank you, I really enjoyed this video. =)
I'd never heard of junk journaling before so I really enjoyed your video. Please could you do a video showing how you put your journal together. I would really like to make one with loose pages like this.
I’m sorry if you’ve already answered this, but what do you use for your pages? Is it watercolor paper, or cardboard, thank you so much! I love to watch you work. It gives me so many ideas that I haven’t thought of!
I use junk mail, cardboard boxes, anything laying around. Someone asked me to show how to make a junk journal so I'll do that for my next video and you'll be able to see all the materials from scratch.
Hi Jennibellie! I enjoy your videos so much. I was wondering, how do you organize stuff to use in junk journaling? I have tons of broken down cereal boxes and such as that. I haven’t gotten into crafting much lately as I’ve been caring for a family member. So the scraps have been accumulating.
Good question! I don't have a specific section for Junk Journaling beyond my drawer that I share in this vid that I do keep the journal and separate pages in but I do have like a collagey tray that has lots of little boxes and sections in it that I created in one of my classes (the Raw Intuitive Journaling Class) for quick access to materials. Other than that I have different drawers and spaces I keep things that I think have just been developed over years of creating, not necessarily intentional for junk journaling but it works for me and I think that's the most you can ask of your space (not to necessarily be 'pretty'/organised or even always logical, but easiest way for you to use everything). Does that help any? Enjoy the process. Don't feel you need to rush to put anything together, just allow yourself bits and pieces of time to see what works best. Much love
I haven't decided yet it may be like the one I did for my Remedies Junk Journal workshop or I may come up with a binding when the time comes. We'll see x
Errrrmmm I honestly don't know without watching the video tbh Veronica, I sometimes do, though mainly I use matt medium or something like that...if it's in a tube then it was probably that.
Get some trash, and play with it! Ignore the mind for a while...you've been paying attention to it and it hasn't helped has it? So give yourself a break, and permission to just play for a bit.
Hi Jenny. Remember me? I've missed you. I haven't had the internet for about 3 years. Without you in my life I haven't felt very artsy. My husband and I lost everything about 3 or 4 years ago and we had to start over. We're doing better now. But I've missed you. How is Mum and Sweepie? Much love. XO...💗
Queen of Freedom...! The beauty you create when you are free...💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟💟

I'm in the hospital because I fell. So binge watching jenny on my phone. Luckily, I didn't break anything & may go home later today.
Glad to see you. I followed you since 2014. You inspired me to create. Greetings from Puerto Rico.
Dear Jennie it’s always such a pleasure to watch you create pages in your journals 😍 it’s always so relaxing and inspiring 😁✨ thank you very much 💞
So glad that you are back over here. Thoroughly enjoy seeing your process. Thank you and take care xx

'buy 100s of dollars of supplies and print a bunch of kits to make junk journals'....to make junk journals?? Journals out of JUNK?? lol glad something clicked and seemed a little off with that.

Hey Margarita! You are welcome, welcome, welcome ❤️
I like that...the inner critic can to do one 👍
I think I could actually get into doing this because it seems very therapeutic to get all the crap that’s in my head out thank you
It totally is!

Totally inspired me to start working in my junk journal again. Thank you
I'm so glad!
Thanks voor sharing a whole lot of inspiratie 🥰🍀
I loved it!!!
Delightful video💗
I love watching your random process videos! I'm also up for more collage and less paint... but that's because I have to work on the dry side.
Really enjoying having you back on you tube. Love the way you recycle and use up everything!! Great video - I don’t always have long to do some art so great to see how you can build it up!
Thank you for this, wonderful!😁❣
You are so welcome!
Wonderful!
I loved this video!
So much fun! ❤️
It really is! Easy, free, fun :)
Thanks for this video!!!!!
Sincerely,
Victoria
Fun video, thank you.
Thank you
Your message today was exactly wanted I needed to hear thank you
You are so welcome x
Very inspiring. Loved it!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Loved this! I need to do this as stress relief. SO timely!
i really LOVED this video - gave me lots of ideas, thank you ! 😀👍😘💖
I love this. Thank you so much, Jennibellie.
Love, love this!
Thank you for all the great inspiration and those were neat items to use for mark making and such. I never thought to use the roller from deodorant for example... =)
I really want to make junk journals.... I keep trying... I have made a few.... but after the base is made, I get stuck.... but this was inspirational and gave me good ideas on how to fill the pages. =)
Thank you, I really enjoyed this video. =)
I'd never heard of junk journaling before so I really enjoyed your video. Please could you do a video showing how you put your journal together. I would really like to make one with loose pages like this.
Excellent suggestion! I might do that for next weeks video.
Are you going to make paper bids in the future?
What do you use as a base? Cardboard, cardstock? Etc...?
second time watching so, i guess I liked it
Is this junk journal an 8x10 paper and is it watercolor paper thank you💜
Are you creating those pages so that you can journal on them?
Curious as to what is your work surface... Is your actual table full of paint, or do you have some sort of blotter?!
Much love
I looked at your supply list but couldn’t find what kind of stiff paper you are using as your base - I’m new at art and journaling.
Jenni, are you working on cardboard?
What type paper do you use for your journals. Love your videos. 😊
All types, but for this one it is a junk journal so mainly old food packaging
Inspires me to go take all my stuff out of the closet, that I haven‘t touched in months because there was „no inspiration for actual art“
Excellent! ❤️
Yes, I liked it :-)
How do you attach all these pages together to make a journal, then?
She uses the rings shown at the beginning of the video.
SusanJane She said it was a temporary solution before including them in a journal. I saw the rings.
@@YayaBolender Didn't know that. I keep some of my journals in rings because it's far easier to store and view them when they get fat.
@@susanjane4784 I will remember that, it's a good idea.
I haven't decided yet it may be like the one I did for my Remedies Junk Journal workshop or I may come up with a binding when the time comes. We'll see x
Didn't like this....I LOVED it!!!!!!
Are you using white acrylic paint as glue?
Errrrmmm I honestly don't know without watching the video tbh Veronica, I sometimes do, though mainly I use matt medium or something like that...if it's in a tube then it was probably that.
I've kind of been in a slump and had too many ideas and feeling overwhelmed
Get some trash, and play with it!
Ignore the mind for a while...you've been paying attention to it and it hasn't helped has it? So give yourself a break, and permission to just play for a bit.
Hi Jenny. Remember me? I've missed you. I haven't had the internet for about 3 years. Without you in my life I haven't felt very artsy. My husband and I lost everything about 3 or 4 years ago and we had to start over. We're doing better now. But I've missed you. How is Mum and Sweepie? Much love. XO...💗
🙂
