I dunno what's going on at 11:52 - but it's at a point where I'm saying 'let it go' and 'not to be a perfectionist' so sh*t happens, I am letting it go and not recreating the video ;) please bare with/ignore, it doesn't occur long 😊
haha I thought it was my computer/internet because we're in the middle of a snow storm and our power blinked a couple of times while I was watching your video. lol
Jenni...it could have been ten years ago, or eight (im iffy on details) but you were the first, original person that spurred me on art...journal, creating (was your vid on cereal boxes as journal covers, methinks) not sure if I ever sent a "thank u" but yeah... everything I do, I owe it to ya. AWESOME to see you remain true-blue years later...you are real deal! Happy Thanksgiving 2022!💞
Thank you for making this video. I always feel guilty about the number of journals I have started and don't keep up with. You just inspired me and released my guilt! This also has helped me realize making journals as gifts just within my family has endless possibilities--with various purposes! Yay! Now I also feel better about acquiring so many materials! I've been like, what am I gonna do with all this stuff?! Now I know.
First I'm not a journaler. I don't know if you would call my journals real junk journals but I always try to use stuff that otherways would thrown in the bin. I save all the pages fail prints and outdated stuff from the office, packaging ... you know what I mean 😅. My family doesn't throw away anything bevor asking Trash or Treasure? I have made a lot of journals and I think I use quite a few of them. I've an ideas and experiments journal where I write down ideas and the results of trying them. An example journal, every page has a different type of thingy that I've "invented" I can always get back and take a look on how I've created it ... boxes, fun folds, closures, different kinds of binding ... I've made a journal out of old 5x7 playing cards which I use as a backgrounds journal. Everytime I don't know what to do I create a background. At some day they'll be finished pages. I love watercoloring on book pages. So I've made a journal out of old book pages. I've glued them together to get bigger pieces, cover them with clear gesso and cut them to size to fit into a journal. I've an art journal, a collage journal, a journal in which I try to put down thoughts and feelings about the different seasons of the year (always not writing) I've one thats my calender. I use this to write down my working times and stuff I musst not forget. I've journals made out of watercolor paper one for animals, flowers, landscapes, fruits ... the last one with the fruits I've cut apart and have hung the pieces on the wall above the dining table 😅 'cause hubby told me he loves the paintings so much and it's a shame that they all burried in a book. There are a lot of uses ... we only need to allow seeing them and we've to stop feeling guilty of not using what we've created or stuff we've bought.
Thank you so much for making this video! It is such a phenomenal and resourceful reminder of the myriad of ways we can celebrate our lives, our inimitable spirits, our kaleidoscopic natures and all our multidemensionality. I love it and I will watch it again with a pen and paper in hand to scribble down all the thoughts in my head as I listen to you purge yours. You are such an inspiration and have become a valuable resource in my own journaling toolkit in the few months I have subbed to your channels. You revitalise my zest for journaling as a way of reaching inside and understanding what you find there rather than simply a way of making pretty books. Thank you so much for all that you do! x
Thank you, this is very useful. I had almost given up on journals since lockdown. I need to get back to it. Having a variety of journals is logical when you say it like that. A list of possible journals is forming in my head. The idea of a yarn journal is making me smile. I don't know what watching your video at gone 1 am says about me, probably just that I am a mad insomniac.
Thank you for the examples, they were super inspiring! I am only just starting to get into journaling, and was having a bit of an analysis paralysis, with trying to decide what kind of a journal would work best for me, so it is very helpful to know that I can just choose ALL OF THEM!
I asked my therapist f it would be OK to make an anger journal because I'm not normally an angry person. And I didn't want the occasional anger to poison my regular journal where u was trying to learn and grow and make progress. There is potential for so MANY kinds of journals. I like origami and folded, lol up types of things too so I see that as a possibility too
I am so happy to see that I am not the only one that has a journal for just about everything!! So very true that one learns best when one writes notes down!!
I appreciated your comment on not having to fill up my journal immediately. I have a bookcase full of journals I have in progress - and who knows when or if they will be finished. I do have journals I use every day, however, the norm for me when I start a workshop is to start a new journal - that is a gift I give myself, and those new starts are my favorites =) Thanks, Jenni, you are the best.
Thanks so much. Truly appreciated this video. I am taking an online writing course and i am loving it so far. My every day journal is filled with everything. My host of journals are like friends that bring back memories good and bad. Ijust recently added a segment call what did i learn. Since graduation from life is a far ways off everyday is a chance to learn something so this year that became a journal. Thanks so much again!!😊😊😁😊😁😁😊😁😁😊😁😚😊
I am so happy to find out others have multiple type journals! I thought I was crazy for hopping from one style journal to another!! Thank you for this video❤️
I truly love every one of your videos, you put things in terms that I can understand I love how you don't push products to buy and I just love the positives you put into the universe thank you so much
What a very interesting video! ☆☆☆☆☆ I think I'll have to watch it again in a couple of days 🤓 I've written in a journal since 1980 when I was 20 yrs of age. I just can't stop!! 🖊 📚 📗 📒 It's for sure therapeutic. I used to work as a Satyananda yoga teacher. Found out about your channel through Barbara in Vienna, 49 Dragonflies. / Thank you for the inspiration, Ditte in Sweden 🇸🇪
This is such a good video !!! I'm keeping a diary since I'm 14. But I'm an art journaler for 2 years now. I always feel guilty keeping so many journals :D Like I "should" keep only 1. So I'm very happy to see your video, it gives me also lots of more idea on how to journal. I actually have a tarot journal, a diary, a brain dump journal, a gratitude journal and my art journal... your goal journal and manifestation journal is a real good idea !!! I kept a manifestation journal 5 years ago and totally forgot about it ! I will do it again.
I had one of those birthdays! It was on 19.9.1991 - although I couldn't use the 0.... Awesome video. My mind is boggling at the sheer quantity and diversity of all your journals, and you've given me some ideas. I have to go and watch some of your links. Thanks for sharing! ❣
I have always been a creative person and I have been making and using different journals for most of my adult life. I have watched your videos all these years since you started. These past few weeks I have started 2 other new journals. 🙂🎨
Omg we used to have letter copies between me and my friends as teenagers. They are so much fun to look back on now. Might see if they would be up for this again ❤️
I am sooo great full for your liberating teaching!! I was feeling bad for making so many journals I don"'t fill. Your just AMAZING! Light, love and blessings!!
Thank you. I just found you today and so happy I did. This video was helpful because I already journal but you gave me new ideas to explore. I will be watching more videos and hopefully taking a class soon too. The universe brought me to you'. I feel very excited to explore more and hear more from you. I think you must help many people and I will be one of them. I have many many journals to fill and many supplies to use. Paper , pens and such things bring me to my happy place. As I watched this video I took notes so this journal will now be my learning journal from you.
Great video Jenni, wow I didn't know your birthday was in February, I just hit my 62nd birthday on the 11th of this month. Sure could use alot of your vim and vigor. You never cease to amaze me. Take care and God bless you young lady. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
You are such a Content Volcano 🌋😀 - it's quite amazing! Not much of a journaler myself, but that suggestion for a non-dominant hand journal? That's brilliant. I'll be trying that.
Just fabulous Darling,...that's why I have been a member and subbie to you for years. I always come back to you , because of your Talent, Honesty and Creative Wisdom. You have all the Angel numbers in your Birth Date, that would explain why. Huge Hugs from NZ 🥰🥰😘
I'm slowly getting to the 'point' of not just create journals to write in. This is inspiring. Thank you! You mention the manifestation class and that you teach journaling 'rituals' (not sure of how you put it... my short time memory is like a Swiss cheese..) around full and new moon. That was an eyeopening for me, since I've only heard of manifestations/rituals around every face of the moon and that usually just lasts a couple of weeks for me. I'll try it your way instead. I think it'll be easier to get into, without the 'pressure' of doing it 4 times/ moon cycle...
Great ideas ! I want to make an art journal. BUT.. I like what you said, that if you don't make it personal, you won't stick with it. I see a lot of junk and art journals but then wonder, now what ??
I love the idea of making a journal purely for the enjoyment of the creative process. Maybe filling it with favourite quotes etc? But I wouldn't feel comfortable writing very personal thoughts that could be read by others after I'm no longer here. I don't know why it bothers me because I'm actually a very open person.
I thought I was the only one that collected names and places It's nice to know Im not. Thank you for your videos. I made one of your journals several years ago (at least 10?) .you the the one the old Christmas card one I been inserting index card art there cause sometimes that is all the time i have or the inspiration Its almost finished. I kind of made it chunky 😁
I have 8 on the go journals right now and none of them are specialist. They’re a hodge podge of whatever comes out of my painty/ inky fingers at that time.
I've been watching your videos for quite a while now I absolutely love them and you this one made me sad and annoyed with myself as I have started journals so many times and because I do it and stop I have ripped page's out and binned them and started something new what a numpty. I have sent a request to join the community I'm a spiritual practitioner of many things and a mixed media artist thanks for your videos love them
I've been there re: the ripping out and binning pages. I used to do that ALL THE TIME when I was younger, thinking every journal needed to be neat/on the same topic/perfect...but they always ended up changing/gtting messy so I would rip out, bin those pages, and start over in the journal again - only to want that orignal journal back six months down the line so I would just end up starting another anyway, so that lessons finally learnt. I have released that guilt and now just do what I want - join me it's much funner over here lol
I love you and your channel but his video felt overwhelming to me…I cannot begin to even stay consistent with one journal( do to a very busy life) let 8 to 10 different varieties of them.
I dunno what's going on at 11:52 - but it's at a point where I'm saying 'let it go' and 'not to be a perfectionist' so sh*t happens, I am letting it go and not recreating the video ;) please bare with/ignore, it doesn't occur long 😊
I thought you did that on purpose and I just kept listening. It’s okay. Carry on. Keep going.
It looked like Hillary Duff was trying to take over. 😉
I thought it was very interesting
haha I thought it was my computer/internet because we're in the middle of a snow storm and our power blinked a couple of times while I was watching your video. lol

People in my family would not want mine.
Lots of online groups that do swaps or individuals that would love happy mail. Sometimes that's all people have to do.
LOVE all these ideas! And been following you forever! Glad to see you “back.”
