Great video, very informative. I just purchased a LG UltraWide Monitor w/ with PBP, do you see any issues with displaying both consoles on the single screen and switching 4 PC's ?
Hi. I am definitely looking at this KVM as it is very close to meeting my needs and there seems to be few others that have exactly the same specs. However, the information regarding EDID (I think that is the right word) is not consistent on this switch. Can you tell me if windows, that are open on the desktop (on both monitors), retain their position after switch away to another computer and then switching back?
I hate that these KVM manufacturers include all of those cables with the KVMs. I ordered one of this same GCS1944 model today, but alas the included cables are all going to be too long or too short. Or not the correct type. I also don't switch audio, so those are worthless to me too. All those cables are going to e-waste or the garbage. I also have an 8-port Iogear. That one was available with or without cables, so I was relieved I didn't have toss all of those in the garbage.
Great looking switch - hits my needs. It looks a bit more than I'm looking to spend at this time. I'll keep my eyes out for one for a more personal use.
Do you know if this will power an RGB gaming keyboard? I've read that some KVM USB's aren't powerful enough for gaming keyboards... If this one does work I'll order one right now through your affiliate link. Thank you!
@@TechnoDadLife Yes, but still no luck for resolution. Question for you: have you tested dual monitors at 3840x2160 with refresh rates of 60.00Htz? Low reslution is not a problem.
@@victorsanchez4282 the company replaced the unit and has worked flawlessly, but they had chip shortages and took a while to get it. Definitely a reputable company. Now, newer KVMs do use digital switches, so if you buy a new one keep that in mind and don't get a mechanical.
Can this support adapters or converters? I have a work laptop with VGA and HDMI output and have had no luck with KVM video output. Iogear support says it must ALL be native Displayport, but I don't want to believe that.
Hey there, I would love to see a setup video for a Linuxserver/dokuwiki docker container on OMV. It should be an easy one for you! I'm struggling with getting Let'sEncrypt running on my OMV setup which is forwarded by DuckDNS from my purchased domain name. Any advice on resources?
I guess it really depends what you need to do with it. I use Team Viewer myself. You can even copy and paste files from one PC to another. Team Viewer is a program you can install on any PC. My main PC is basically the master PC. Any other PC I install the program to run on windows boot up, basically when the computer boots, T.V. is running in the background, and you can connect to it at any time. www.teamviewer.com/en-us/ This is also great for like troubleshooting a brother/sister/parents computer. They fire up T.V. and provide you with a ID and a pass code. I also have it installed on my iPhone. So if I need to do something on my PC while away from home, then I can just log into it, and do whatever.
Can u show how to actually set it up?

That KVM switch is amazing. I'd love to own this but it goes for $520. Maybe if I'm rich someday.

Just be aware that not all switchs that say they are 4K actually are. This one is.

I had issues with this KVM but the company was able to fix it
Did you email the company? Sounds like you got a bad one.

@@TechnoDadLife OMG, they fixed it for me. Super happy. Great product!
@alongia what'd they do to fix? Mine has been a two day headache.

I don't think so, but I believe their three display monitor does. amzn.to/2Oq5hjU

OMV forums.
Thanks for the video. You didn't show how you connected the monitors and the PCs though.
I don't quite understand what you are asking, but you just attach the cables to the back as normal.
do you have a recommendation for a 2 port, 3 monitor KVM switch. It doesn't need to be 4K. I am looking for one under 350. thank you
Nope, they are all way more expensive than that. The iogear 3 monitor kvm switch is the only true 4K one.
Can you switch one monitor at a time, or doe it have to be both?
Both
I can wait until the price drops to 99.00 dollars.
Wow. Iogear really dropped the ball in terms of cable management. Short cables that are not all bound together.

Does this kvm have port emulation?
Do you mean USB? Yes
Was looking for usb. But also to maintain windowing within each os. So computer doesn’t think that the monitors were disconnected
