  • Sitting in the middle of one of the most wealthy neighborhoods in America. This $8.5 million dollar mansion once owned by country music legend Kenny Rogers. The mansion has become nothing but an eyesore to the neighbors. weeds have grown to be over 7 feet tall from the neglect of the landscape as well as an in ground pool that is full of algae. But what could have possibly happened for it to be this way. But let’s go back to the beginning. The mansion was first built in 1990 as a castle like estate with over 15,000 square feet of living space featuring 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, a 4 car garage and full basement with a bar, state of the art gym and much more. Now one thing that makes this place very special is that it was once owned by the late and great Country music star Kenny Rogers. He lived like a king in this marvelous mansion until 2006 when he sold it for $8.5 million dollars to a very wealthy family from Nigeria. This family ran many different dermatology locations throughout many states. Unfortunately there seemed to be some shady business going on. Around 2018 things took a turn for the worse for the family. The feds were after them for owing $6.5 million in back taxes. But the story doesn’t end there. After they left a family member was in charge of watching over the family estate. But what was really happening was the mansion was being rented out for events like weddings, and even music videos for Rappers Offset, 21 Savage, and Russ. But in just 17 months the police were called to the estate 100 times for noisy parties. The final straw was when rapper YFN lucci had a party at the mansion where many things got damaged and the police were called again. The town ultimately was fed up with the mansion being used for business and they shut the operation down. Ever since the grand estate has sat vacant and abandoned with many signs of neglect. So join me today and let’s see what’s left!

      "Cool" is definitely not a word i would associate with that hideous place. And you're right it takes some serious "wealth" to keep up joints like that and also the right people do oversee them. And the way they build things today those places are falling down before they're even finished. Not like a real chateau or castle built to last through the ages. these are little cardboard playhouses by comparison.

    I remember years ago K.R. was going to play at our county fair. My mom was so excited! She wanted to go see him really bad. She begged and bribed me to go with her so I went. It was fun to see her so happy. It is the only time she ever went to go see a famous singer. When we got there it wasn't like the kind of concerts I'd been to. It was rather small. They had a stage up front and it was an auditorium type thing with seats Every seat was filled with people happy to be there and looking forward to seeing the singer. He was late, really late, 1/2 hour to maybe 45 minutes. After the introduction and applause he came out and sat on one of the tall stools that were on the stage. He started to sing if you could call it that. He was shouting more than singing and off key. He strumed his guitar like a 5 year old might. He nearly fell off his stool a couple times. He was drunk. He began insulting the people there, calling us ignorant hillbillies, worthless and all sorts of names. The people who had been happy were stunned and disgusted and confused. We watched and listened for a bit and slowly people began to leave. My mom was so disapointed. We didn't talk about it much after wards except to decide he was an alcoholic. And most likely a really mean, bad man at heart. The only silver lining was I never got asked to see some country western singer again. eeh hah!

    This abandoned home is eerie. Why are so many ten million dollar homes abandoned in the US?
    Billionaires have many homes and make up a very small segment of the population.
    Millionaires worth $50 to several hundred millions are plentiful at about 250,000.
    Why aren’t contractors purchasing renovating and reselling?
    Strange.

    I have 24/7 anxiety over minor unpaid bills or fixing up my 1200 sq ft rental bc it’s been empty for six months, some people amass debts in the millions and leave mansions deserted and don’t have a care in the world… so nuts!

    That "storage" room with all the cabinets and counters but no sink is called a "butlers pantry." Its a room that typically connects the kitchen to the dining room and is traditionally used to store everything for the dining room. China, crystal, silver, servingware, linens etc and often used to store wine, coffee makers and tea service. It also serves as a space to prep dishes to be served, garnishes etc and reduces foot traffic in the kitchen. They are essential in large homes that often host dinners and parties.

    first and foremost, RIP Kenny Rogers. Second, this was BY FAR my favorite video production of yours to date Bankz. You are growing as a creator and I loved how you led into the backstory first and kind narrated the story as you went along. I also see you are getting much better at identifying different parts of the home and materials, designs, etc. included. Keep working on that. it really adds to your content, as always the camera work is superb and that is the strongpoint of your channel and always has been. Nicely done job Sir and great video!

    I cant help but wonder what it looked like when Kenny lived in the house, and what was changed when it was sold....

    • @janebeatty9472
      @janebeatty9472 Год назад

      If I remember right…(tv interview) he had a lot of white ornate furniture and kind of modern looking white couches. Which would work in most of the house. That one large side table that was white with a multicolored marble top is how he had the house decorated. That piece is original. The bed in the Master just doesn’t work at all and I think was brought in by the second Owner. Unless he had a sentimental attachment to it.

    Wow! That is wild. I liked the outside better than the fixtures inside. It was a bit gaudy for my taste. Homes like these are super expensive to maintain, so unless you're wealthy and not just rich, keeping this up is hard. Hopefully someone buys it and refurbishes it to live in and care for.
