Yes to , as a former landlord and knowing others, n renters stiff the landlord because they can stay for free for YEARS because of pro-tenancy laws (at least in CA) whilst landlords have to pay property taxes and other expenses. This is not a case where some elderly pensioner is living in a small home that he can’t afford to fix up but a HUGE mansion and they can move to a smaller place. People ALL have financial responsibilities and if they can’t afford it they SHOULD move out.
The Japanese tatami room is used for anything from dining to tea to meditation or sleeping. The grass mats on the floor are called tatami mats. That chair is really out of place, since traditionally there would be floor pillows to sit on and if used for dining there would be a very large square table that the family would sit on the floor and eat at the table. Smaller individual tables wiuld be used for tea. Rolled up mats would be in a corner for sleeping, and would be unrolled at night. Hope that helps!! Great house!!
It's because it's just another transaction to the banks. It's just numbers on paper. Someone would love buying all that furniture. It's sad to think it all rotts and gets demolished
What's worse is that we have all these homeless people and issues, but we waste something like this. Kinda makes me understand why so many think Americans are lazy, irresponsible, and careless.
Incredibly stunning home. Huge entry room with the two fireplaces and room with the fountain were my favorites. The furniture is worth a small fortune. I’m always struck by light fixtures in these old homes and these did not disappoint. Stained glass amazing. Weird to have those condos out back. Hope it doesn’t get destroyed. Thanks for sharing this magnificent home!
I wonder if the condos were intended for long term out of town business associates to stay, rather than having to stay in a hotel or get an apartment. Second stream of income.
I'm so glad you are back to your old self again. Sometimes life gets in the way of living and has to be dealt with before we can move onward and upward. Much love and respect to you❤❤.
it would be intersting if you could find out more about the people who used to live in these houses, I always wonder about that, how the houses ended up abandoned
Number 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man passes away, and does not have enough life insurance !!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you going to live large, you have to insure you life so your family is cared for.
I would say that this place was definitely used to run a business from with the fountain room being used as the main reception area to greet clients. The screen with the birds on it is called a modesty screen. Fab video again ❤
The doorframe 24:16 That design is called Greek Key. It's not an egyptian design, it is Greek ; as are the Greek column frescas on either side of the previous door.
I was telling the tv that 😂. That room has a very Greek/Roman vibe with the tile, fountain, and Greek key. The stain glass at the end of the room is so confusing and completely different vibe.
How interesting to still have a person living in 1 of the condos. I was hoping the entire time there would be a walk through and convo with the residents
I wonder if the people owned the home owned the Condos since it looks like it's on the same property. Maybe they just lost everything unfortunately or maybe decided to go back to China since the husband passed and to ship all that furniture would have cost a fortune so they left it behind and whatever was sold at auction went to the bank to cover what was owed. Really sad.
Wow, such an amazing place. It is a shame to see it wasting away. Beautiful home. The fountain with the stained glass has to be my favorite part of the mansion. Thanks for sharing this beauty. Happy New Year!!
You have got to be the best person along with your camera man/friend to visit these abandoned places… you respect all the places that you visit not like others, I’ve tried to watch but couldn’t … you know how to show home these places thank you 👌
Rooms with Tatami mats are commonly recognized as Washitsu, which literally means Japanese-style room. Washitsu were designed by Samurai officials for Samurai warriors residences in the 14th century. The sliding doors are called Shoji. This washitsu does look like it was used for meditation because it appears to be an extension of maybe a small library or possibly a small bedroom.. It wouldn't have made sense to be used to entertain guests as a dining room or as a martial arts studio. But now days they are used for any purpose the owner wishes. The screens are called changing or privacy screens so you guessed correctly. I once saw a 10 panel asian design privacy screen. It was magnificent and I kick myself for not buying it when I had the chance.
I wondered if he was correct about the family being Chinese, if what he says is true, it doesn’t make too much sense as Chinese normally would not have Japanese type of room.
Beautiful property! Watching from Ohio. Must say you’ve become my favorite abandoned house You Tuber. Love that you try to give some history and that you respect the homes.
I just love this tour! Unfortunately, I get "sea sick" very easily....I could only watch 15 min with the motion of the camera...😫 I fast forwarded to the fountain room....just beautiful! It is ashame that no one has taken it over and fixed it up....😥
I agree, i don't normally get affected but this one was bad for me. Bankz if you're reading this, invest in a gimbal like your friend has in this video, it will stabilise the movement massively and wont make people get dizzy or feel sick. ❤
Beautiful and unique! I would have thought the stained glass room would have been a solarium to grow plants. Looks like they ran their business in it instead. So very sad to see it wasted with no one caring for it! So glad you’re back! We’ve missed you BigBankz! Hope you & the fam are doing well!
Imagine how beautiful the light effects would be in the fountain room with the chandelier on and the stained glass ceiling.Awesome.What a place, fix up the condo's,clean up the grounds, amazing. Thanks 👍❤️🇺🇸
What a beautiful home and that furniture is gorgeous but at the same time it’s sad. Thank you for sharing. Appreciate everything you do for us 🙏🏻. Have a wonderful evening 😊
Yes, if rich people instead of being extravagant mansions used some of their money to build affordable housing (yes, still get rent but modest amounts) sort of like Levittown, boring cookie cutter but affordable housing.
That fountain room is very gorgeous. Very reminiscent of commercial developments. The detail in the woodwork, the feeling of openness in so many rooms (the office either a view!) I can see so many missed opportunities for repurposing that home. Too bad the bank didn’t think to do anything about it! Thanks for sharing this amazing place with us and Happy NewYear BigBankz
I would turn this into a venue and the condos a place where people can stay. Imagine cocktail hour or your guests hanging out in the area with the fountain
This is probably one of my top favorites of your explores . I always look forward to your videos. I can only imagine the real grandeur of how it was with all of their contents. Keep up the good work 🙂
Wow,what a amazing place. The furniture are stunning, such a shame they left behind. The stained glass was incredible😍Thanks for another awesome explore.I wish you a Happy New Year, stay safe and healthy.Greetings from Germany🙂
Happy New Year! This house was amazing. Loved the details and design. Wish someone could keep restoring it. I was disappointed with the kitchen as I felt it was really dark and could have been opened up with the other room to use as an eating area/kitchen. Beautiful home.
Whoever was restoring it, had a different direction in mind vs. maintaining the original character of the original home as noticed by the modern big box store fixtures (ugh) that were intended to replace the chandeliers, etc. Not all of it was original either. The 80s tilework was not great in the fountain room, nor the large picture windows in that space. I wonder if it was entirely added on in the 1980s-90s or at one time was an open courtyard? Would have loved to know how it was originally used back in its glory. Still love seeing these homes, as they are reminders of our past, present, and future. Thanks for filming!
My husband and I love watching your videos. This one has us both completely baffled. The layout makes absolutely no sense whatsoever? Looks like it was definitely used as a business at some point but regardless of that, the original build is chaotic. I really want to know the history now. 🤔🤯
Beautiful home! Thanks for sharing. I am always so curious as to how they became abandoned and why certain items are left behind and others are not? Just want to go back and see the time when they were clearing it out. 😀
If the guy was an art dealer I would think those paintings are most likely authentic and valuable. It would have been cool to see the artist signature on them.
Amazing home and great video. You always take your time and capture the beauty of all the places you visit! You're also very respectful of these places. It's always so sad to see these beautiful homes just left to whatever their future holds. I blows my mind that people leave so much furniture behind. Glad you're back and can't wait for more of your videos.
I loved the cabinet with the face on it. I like watching your videos while doing doctoral graduate work online-so it kinda keeps me company and going. No cursing or anything. Just moderate history and I can scroll the comments for more facts. Keep up the good work.
I think your work is decent, but just some honest criticism with respect…you repeat yourself way too much and you focus too many times on the same things/areas; you go over something repeatedly. The reason I’m pointing this out is you find some amazing homes and you do have a gift for storytelling. You also have a genuine air of friendliness and goodness.
That room earth the Asian style, kind of raised, reminds me of the Buddhist shrines where you'd go to meditate, and pay homage/worship/offer prayers to Buddah, with the burning delicious incense aromas, lovely decorations for protection, prosperity, peace, and million year happiness, with beautiful offering bowls filled with fruit and coins. That's what it reminds me of and looks like to me. I get the sense that the man who died in 2005 passed suddenly, and perhaps tragically. His wife may not have been able to cope with the loss and fell deep into soul crushing grief. Those condos in the back very well may have been residences for family. I just get the sense there was a horrible circumstance that befell this couple and family. It's the kind of feeling that clenches your heart with sorrow. Sadness, so much sadness.
The name of the furniture was called French Provincial, and the other dark style Mediterranean. One of the settings in the front of the house was a black sectional, just separated. Also when you see a long cabinet in a kitchen it is for sheet pans, that was in another video you shared. Great tour of this home, very beautiful home!
It’s definitely still being renovated. There might be a pause, but there’s no way they would leave all of those tools and just disregard all of that furniture. The bank still owns the house. Obviously, there’s a lot of money to be made here. If it were truly abandoned and left that place would be so vandalized, windows would be broken, tons of graffiti, potential homeless people living in there, kid partying and trashing it, so the fact that it was in fairly good condition tells me someone or some people must keep an eye on it. Also thieves (people) or groups would’ve come by there with trucks and unloaded all that furniture by now and sold it. It’s possible the nice gentleman on this channel reached out to somebody before they went there who knows but either way a cool place!
What a beautiful house. It is a shame that the renovations never got finished. I wonder if it will ever get sold again or just left to decay. Thanks for the tour.
Thank you for sharing these places with us but how are these abandoned places not ravished by thieves if you are able to access them. I am also intrigued by the resident in the 3rd condo and how that is possible???
I often find the interiors of these places completely tasteless in style and furnishings. This was no exception (except the leather chairs and sofa 👍) I love watching these videos and find them fascinating, especially with the back stories. A big thank you to you for another great video Xx
Personally having an architect build your mansion dream home is like a dream to any person. Seeing someones personal dream home decay and waste away after the owners departure and death is kinda sad. Hope the owner was happy and had some good memories here.
BIG BANKS I LIKE THE BIBLE VERSES YOU PLACE IN YOUR VIDEOS, THANKS FOR BRINGING US THOSE VIDEOS, I KNOW ITS COLD AND FREEZING TEMPS OR WHEN IS SUMMER TIME IS TOO HOT AND YOU ARE THERE LOOKING FOR THOSE ABANDONED HOMES ... THANKS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR 😅
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away." Great exploration - all of these places really make me feel sad, nostalgic and sorrowful for those that have gone. However there are moments of happiness as well and hope, just all kinds of emotions.
I’m guessing that the room with the stained glass and fountain was where he conducted his business and the room to the side wasn’t a dining room but more like a conference room.
Let's go. Always waiting longer for BigBanxs these days. Missing the action. My wife's gonna be asking...."is there a new BigBanxs yet". Let's go. Love ya brother.
I love how the banks / mortgage lenders throw people out just to let these homes decay away! Very compassionate.
If you let people stay in property they didn't pay for and word got around people would stop paying because they would know that nothing would happen.

I think they used it for martial arts. The room is built with springs and padded floors.
He literally says it was owned by Chinese people
@@lowerself6689 look at the outside picture of the room. You can see what I am talking about.
I like the way you tell the story behind it and also how respectful you are to the houses

Yes! Love the scriptures at the beginnings and the history of the homes you show us.
Amazing how at one time the home is full of hustle and bustle and love, and in the blink of an eye, it’s all left to despair very sad and anyways
Beautiful house. Sad how a bank will take the house and just let it sit to rot
It's because it's just another transaction to the banks. It's just numbers on paper. Someone would love buying all that furniture. It's sad to think it all rotts and gets demolished
It's a tax write-off for the mortgage company
Yeah, it's just so wasteful.
Agenda 2030 . . . "You will own nothing and be happy"
They don't care as they intend to take everything from us.
What's worse is that we have all these homeless people and issues, but we waste something like this. Kinda makes me understand why so many think Americans are lazy, irresponsible, and careless.
The words “More money than taste” come to mind. What a hodgepodge!
That was my dad’s mansion miss em everyday can’t believe the house still looks like how I remember it makes me reminisce
Why weren't you the beneficiary of this home

It’s really sad, you can’t help wonder what pain and tragedy left this place to just ruin. The stain glass is beyond amazing.
Exactly
How do you know that they had pain and tragedy, maybe they did not plan well and overextended themselves.
The doorframe 24:16 That design is called Greek Key. It's not an egyptian design, it is Greek ; as are the Greek column frescas on either side of the previous door.

I'm actually surprised that the buildings have held up as well as they have. They've held up well for sitting for 20 years.💜💜💜
