Since I’m needing to repolish my watch bracelet (cape cod cloths work great) I purchased a 23mm silicone strap (Amazon has many in all materials nowadays ) and it’s great ! I recently got mine out of its box after a very long sit and thanx to RUclips I was able to get this awesome piece up and running again with a reset of the watch ! It’s a busy one that I’m very fond of (a gift from my wife) , I enjoyed the video !
Take a look at Barton’s Elite Silicone straps. They are incredibly comfortable, have quick change spring bars and the best keeper system made. They are also available in 23 mm! The navy blue would be awesome on this watch!
I have the non airforce version of this watch. (Red Arrows/Blue Angels) The AT8021-01L limited edition. The slide rule bezel is white and it comes on a brown leather strap. Its an excellent looking watch. Also, you can set it using a DCF77 or WWVB signal emulator app on your phone, connect earphones and wrap the wire around the watch and it'll set.
Nice review. I am hoping to pick up a preowned example of this watch. If I do, a new strap,will be my first order of business. I have now picked up a used Blue Angels! The Barton’s Elite Silicone Strap is ideal for this watch, in my humble opinion.
The strap is beautiful and stays that way if worn occasionally. It gets ragged quickly when worn daily. Replacements are very expensive. The Stainless band is not interchangeable as the pin holes are different. I found a silicone band that works fine and is almost the same blue color. The timepiece itself is EXCELLENT and has performed flawlessly.

One thing i don't quite grasp: i understand that the original steel bracelet and the original strap are not interchangeable between themselves-is it due to the watches themselves being different in the lugs area? I heard that at8020-o3l (leather) has the pin holes in a different position than at8020-54l (steel one) !? And even more importantly,is the steel one(at8020-54l) not able to accept any other band,from different brands,be it steel,silicone,leather?! In that case-the case is better made for the At8020-03l,at least you're not restricted to that same type of band. Like you mentioned,you could find a silicone,or textile,or even leather replacement,isn't it !? What about those curved spring bars,were they a problem for yourself? Thank you for your time,wanted to be sure before even deciding to buy it.

the biggest drawback to this watch is the placement of the lug pin holes which makes using another type of band/bracelet impossible without modifications. i did manage to install a strapcode beads of rice bracelet by grinding down the end links where they attach to the watch. i used a 24 mm bracelet so i also narrowed this portion with a dremel. not for the faint of heart....
The leather strap that comes with it has curved spring bars. I like the blue leather strap so much that I really don't want to put it on anything else. I added a deployant clasp so it should last a long time.
Nice watch pete but the strap width would be a no no for me shame can't understand why citizen went for odd seize rather than a even number seize kind regards from the UK.
I don’t have the leather strap (mine came with the bracelet) while researching strap options I did find many complaints with the inner layer of original leather band , I picked up a 23mm dark blue silicone from Amazon as a switch up and it’s great .

Pain in the @$$ watch to set and it doesn’t receive the atomic signal at all. Even out in the open in US Midwest.
I live in the US Midwest and I've never had an issue. Says OK right now. Sure you don't have a bad watch?
Thr curved ends eliminates almost all of the already rare 23mm straps. 🤔
