I am 72, was 243 lbs and am also diabetic with my sugar being between 150-165 regularly. I began the Keto diet on my birthday in mid March. I am happy to say that I was 189 this morning and now my sugar is consistently in the 90s. and my last AIC was 5.7 from 10. My doctor has taken me off Metformin, blood pressure med, statins and Prilosec. I am happy and now have more money to chase ladies around...
@@PaulSchneider-bp2ic There's no need to be hungry OR stuffed to the gills! I'm fully satisfied with just one meal a day, eaten in a 2 hour window and fasting the other 22 hours. I've always been a VERY slow eater. GREAT benefits can be had by ditching the sugar and bad carbs, eating veggies, good fats and quality protein! I wish you well in your journey!
I'm 67. 2months ago I went for my yearly physical and told the Dr. I had just started Keto 2 days earlier. He said "good!" So far I've lost 18lbs. with 18 more to go. He told me to educate myself on Keto and be sure to include leafy greens, allowable veggies, nuts and fruits. I am pre diabetic, take blood pressure, cholesterol and GERD meds. I'm hoping this dietary change leads to me getting off all or at least some of these. So far I've been able to mostly eliminate the daily Prilosec. This diet is super easy and so far has not caused any problems.
I don't find it restrictive or hard at all. But about 13 years ago I did Atkins and didn't have all kinds of social media accounts for ideas or recipes and I found it boring. Now, on keto following IG and FB accounts, googling recipes...I'm on a roll. I'm never bored, never feel like I'm eating the same thing over and over.
I’m 61 years old female and I’m here to tell all seniors to have patience. It took me a while to start seeing a change in my weight. I never gave up, I tried to change the protocol a bit, my eating routine, etc, but always keto diet! Adding more fat to my morning coffee helped a lot, I can go without eating much longer. It took longer for me than It would take a young female or a male but i can finally see results! Don’t give up, stick to it, it will happen!
I just started 2 weeks ago at 70. I only have 10-20 to lose (last years clothes aren’t fitting so well and I hate shopping so…). I’m definitely losing water weight but the scale isn’t budging which I find odd. How many weeks/months did it take for your scale # to move? Thx
62 male. Started at 300 lbs Dec 5,2018. I have just reached the 50 lbs loss mark. My waist is from a 44 down to 36”, 50 lbs more to go. Excellent food and is not restrictive! Keto on into infinity!
@@PaulSchneider-bp2ic i eat till i am satisfied. However, im hardly ever hungry. And when i am full, i have no desire to eat for the sake of eating anymore. Or for the taste. I just stop. I am down 110 in almost exactly a year. Maybe even more. I hardly even exercise except walking and general activity. Nothing and i mean nothing has ever worked like this before. I have struggled my whole life. To lose pregnancy weight i had to starve and exercise (spinning pilates weights ) every day. 30 min or more three times a day to lose. This.... i just eat! I wish i had known my whole life about this.
@@vsheavenly68 Been doing keto 12 weeks, also 74. Was prediabetic, lost 15 pounds. Blood sugars normal, blood pressure normal again. Feeling 10 years younger. Sleeping better and more energy. A little tricky to begin with but so worth it. I got my inspiration from my sister who is 70 who has reversed her type 2 diabetes and off all medication.
@@vsheavenly68 Many people are Diabetic or Pre-Diabetic when they start. Firstly, if your mom is on a statin that could be part of the blood sugar issue. Certain medications are known to worsen blood sugar. Secondly, write down which medications and dosages she is taking. 1. Because if you are her caregiver or child even, you should know. 2. When people eat better often the need for certain meds lessens or the dosage needs to be reduced (like blood pressure meds) or meds that are dosed based on weight. You will need to monitor levels with doctor as dosages are reduced or eliminated. Blood pressure can improve quite quickly. Get permission from mom first. Get Vitamin D levels tested. Get thyroid panel tested. Start with obviously unhealthy foods like flour, potatoes, rice, noodles, and omit those then substitute with low carb options. Example two low carb vegetables instead of a starchy vegetable plus mashed potato and gravy. Animal Protein is important. Animal fats. Dr. Berry discusses this in his numerous videos. I’m in my 60s, mom is in her 80s. We both eat low carb and I have seen how much better she feels. (She is off the statin too). Labs are better. I’ve eaten this way for the last 7 years and will always do so. You should join your mom eating like this as well, if you haven’t already. 🙂
I’m 69 and this is my 3rd day! My 3rd day only! I’m feeling better already! Unbelievable! I was eating vegan, high fruit and waking every morning feeling shaky and tired! I had heart palpitations, stomach issues, aching joints and congestion. I was sick like this for the last 3 years eating healthy carbs like fruit and vegetables and lots of rice and gluten free breads😮 I did the keto years ago and lost weight and felt great but my dr said my bp and cholesterol was too high and to stop. So I did and felt the worst I’ve ever felt in my life! I’m so happy I’m eating THIS way again😊 This is just what my body needed! Thank you so much for all the information you provide. It’s a lifesaver ❤
I am 80 years old and just started keto in November 2019. The first week or maybe two were absolutely awful for me because I am a sweet freak. Once that was over I feel better than I have felt in the last 40 years!
Just turned 69, Keto nearing 5 years. Down and maintaining a 100 pound weight loss. Never felt better. A1C 4.6 taking no medications. Keto has saved my life‼️♥️
@S C 1949 , were you diabetic before,e you went Keto and lost your weight? I was wondering how you got you A1C so lower. Do you feel good on Keto? I can do low carb, but Keto has been hard for me. When I have a nice size salad with say yellow squash I have 20-30gm of carbs. I also really like Greek yogurt as well. Avoid wheat, grains, potatoes. Thank you. James

@@KIPS123 you have to take the time to research, experiment, and plan what you eat. Those are all part of successfully doing Keto. I'm 71, doing for a year, and after the first few months of learning, it's now very easy.
I'm 70 years old and was on Low Carb for a couple of years and now Keto/OMAD since June. I feel great. I feel I have dropped 20 years and 10 kilos. I weigh what I was in my 30s, sleep better and have more energy. It costs less to eat unprocessed foods and prep and clean up easier. I can't imagine ever going back to eating mindlessly. Most of what I learned about keto and IF came from RUclips. Thanks for your contribution Dr, Berry.
Just celebrated my 80th birthday. I've been doing keto for about one year. I've lost 35 ponds. I feel wonderful. Thank you Dr Berry for posting this video.
I am 72..Started in July 2021.Heart bypass at 36, angioplasty at 40,again at 42. Lost 35pounds, best lips profile in my life. Feeling great, no mental fog anymore. IF too. Thank God for Dr. Berry. Doctors did not tell me truth all these years.
@Mark Caves what is you A1C when you wrote this. What is it now, and what is your goal? I was A1C 7.6% a year ago. Last two readi g in June 2019 was 5.5%, and in Aug was 5.4% and family doctor. I see my Endocrinologist this month. I have been do low card of about 100 gm. Happy to talk to you more if you like. I have also found the RUclips channel Beat diabetes to be helpful. Mark you can do it!
66 years young, been "dieting" for the last 3 years with a total 2 lb loss. Started Keto 2 months ago as a last resort and dropped 15 pounds without a day of hunger! This is my lifestyle now!
I’m 75 years old. Going on Keto about a year ago, it’s been an easy, enjoyable, and very rewarding lifestyle change for me. The benefits have been amazing: lowered my blood pressure, eliminated my AFIB, induced weight loss, and greatly reduced my arthritis and tendonitis. It does take six to eight weeks to get through the transition. It’s so worth it!
Thank you! I’m 65 and only 2 weeks into keto and was starting to get a little frustrated. It’s been a bumpy 2 weeks trying to withdraw from sugar and cut out most carbs. I needed a little pep talk to keep me going!
@@sfgirl76m32 Right there with ya. I'm 65 and started keto about 8 or 9 weeks ago. I felt miserable the first few weeks but pushed through with the help of electrolytes. The weight loss is slow, only 10 pounds, but blood sugars are finally normal.
I am 72 years old and last year from end of Feb until August, I lost 70 lbs. I felt GREAT! The arthritis pain was practically gone and I had a lot of energy. I ate meat, vegetables and lots of salad. I did not think the diet was hard because I lost all the carvings and that was such a great thing to lose!! After a while, I was eating one meal a day and feeling completely satisfied! I am off blood pressure and reflux meds!
62 went from keto to carnivore 6 months ago lost 20 lbs canceled knee replacement surgery , improved all labs results . Thank you Dr Berry, Love what you do.
I'm 62 years old and I find the KETO lifestyle easy to incorporate into my life. I started 12/15/2018 and I'm down 65 pounds and I am no longer Type II Diabetic.
Robert Seward - thanks for your comment. I’m the same age Type II and have been trying Carnivore for about 10 days now. I was taking metformin and glimepiride. I’ve stopped the glimipiride at the same time as starting eating differently because I felt it was making it hard to lose weight. Sure enough the pounds are coming off but glucose readings are very steady in the 140s except upon waking when they are in the 160s. What was your experience with your glucose levels when you first started and did your numbers go down? Obviously I’d be very interested in @kendberrymd ‘s comments as well.
Hi KenDBerryMD! Thank you! Love your channel! I'm 65. One year ago my doctor told me that I was diabetic. So, I took the challenge to do something about my health. I saw a dietitian, she told me to journal what I ate. The journal wasn't working. It told me when I ate the banana but I began to realize that it isn't when I ate the banana but that I ate it. I made a new chart/table. Its columns were feelings that I had 15 to 20 minutes after I ate. Bad feelings: gagging, nausea, discontent, diarrhea; stretched, stuffed, full but no fed signal; pain; ache, discomfort, sneeze; hungry; thirsty; tired, exhausted; limit warning; spit it out; Good feelings: content, comfort, awake; warm, satisfied, satiated; a thank you rush; a fed signal. I distinguished a difference between fed and full. If I ate properly I felt fed without feeling full. If I was full but still didn't feel fed, still opening the fridge door looking for food, than I ate the wrong food for it failed to feed me. Fiber makes me feel full but not fed. I wrote down what I ate under each column based on how I felt 15 to 20 minutes after I ate. I lost 57 lbs (26kg) (4 stones 1 lbs). I no longer have arthritic pain, no longer have heartburn, no more chest pains, no more stomach pains, and no more anxiety attacks. My skin is unexpectedly healthier. My heart rate has dropped from high 90s to low 70s. I can now stand up off the floor without needing to grab onto a chair or table for help. And best of all my wife hugs me more often. When I started, I had no idea how this food experiment was going to turn out. Overtime, plant based foods ended up in the bad columns and animal based foods in the good columns. To my unexpected surprise, I discovered that I was a carnivore. I now eat over 30 eggs a week, chicken legs, butter, certain cheeses, tallow, seared rare steaks, liver chopped into bits in ground beef. And oh yes! I'm no longer diabetic. KenDBerryMD, Thank you again for the valuable work you are doing. Keep smiling. I know I will.
I’m 63 and have been intermittent fasting (16 hrs) and Keto for 5 months. My Mom had type2 diabetes and was morbidly obese. She was taking a huge amount of insulin for her diabetes and never really got her blood glucose under control. I started feeling bad and checked my blood glucose levels. I realized I was headed down the same road and started searching the low carb life style. I found you and when I realized the myth about treating diabetes with insulin, I was convinced that I needed to start a low carb life style immediately. I told my doctor that I refused to take insulin when I could control my glucose level with a simple lifestyle change. I’ve lost 42 pounds and my glucose levels are around 70-80. My husband was able to get off of his blood pressure meds and his acid reflux meds after he lost 40 pounds. I’ve never felt better and I can say it’s the easiest and best thing I have ever done to improve my health. The fasting helps reduce the fat storage and isn’t hard after about 2 weeks. Thank you so much for educating us on how to eat healthy and how wrong the guidelines are that we grew up with. Keto isn’t a diet at all, it’s a healthy lifestyle with proven results!
I've lost 60 lbs since August, I'm 55 and have never felt better. In fact I'm on OMAD, and my energy is out the roof! (From the beautiful TN River!) Thanks for the videos!
Two and a half years in - keto is great. Once you change your thought patterns, it is not tough. I was a bread, bread, bread fan and now I do not miss it at all. And I wouldn't trade my mental clarity and size 4 for all the garlic bread you could offer me
I’m approaching 78 and started keto 3 weeks ago. No cravings, no hunger. Found keto by watching a RUclips by my new hero, Dr. Berry, about rosacea. Cannot express how grateful I am to you. Beginning to see some positive results. Thank you again!
Husband (67) and I (64) have been Keto for 18 months. We feel great, have lost 30 and 72 lbs respectively, and plan to eat this way the rest of our lives. I did it for weight loss, hubby for Alzheimer’s, but we’ve gotten so much more than we thought from Keto. Easy to be on...great food...lots of energy...mood lifted...so happy.
Thank you Dr Berry, 69 and after 1.5 yrs of Keto am feeling 39 again. Getting used to hearing younger people tell me how great I look and marvel that I’m not taking any medications - off statins, off bladder meds, Flomax ,blood pressure is excellent , weight is 150 at 5 ft 10 inches. Running and feeling great. Praying for our nation which has gone off the rails with respect to understanding what it means to have good nutrition and great health . Thank God for you and your wife, for your dedication and courage to speak out and stand up for a healthier America.
No I have found keto to be much less restrictive than Weight Watchers. Who wouldn’t trade low calorie bread for bacon and cream!!! I eat much better now and I lost 25 lbs.
@@howtomedicate No it's very easy. The first couple weeks is the hardest as you get over carb or sugar addictions, but once you get through that you lose your hunger and feel fantastic. It's very easy to do.
70 next week. Been keto with intermittent fasting (18hrs) for about 6 months now. Have lost over 28lbs so far but, even more important, I've cured T2 diabetes and resulting hypertension. Thank you Dr Berry.
81 years old and just finishing my first year on Keto and IF. My goal was to lose my belly fat and 15 #. Did that in 6 months and feel so good, sleep well and have much energy. Once I got the hang of eating this way, I found it so simple!
I’m 73 I’ve been on keto for over a year. I went from 205 lbs to 157. I seem to have leveled off at 157. I have so much energy, joint pain has gone away, skin tags all fell off, and in general I feel great. When I first started I missed sweets and bread, but those cravings went away within in a month. I still have a sandwich now and then but its made from low carb bread that we buy at a whole food store. I find this a very easy way of eating because there is nothing to track. Mainly stay away from sugar, carbs, beer, and I have almost completely stopped alcohol altogether. I still will have a (1) gin and diet tonic on very special occasions I have to say I have never felt better in my life. Thank you Dr Berry. I only wish you were my Dr.
Do you eat Fruits? I’m a big fan of keto and would like my parents who are in their 80s to try. Both of my parents are diabetic. They take a lot of medication and always low in energy. Thanks
I was complimented yesterday and was asked what I was doing. I looked them straight in the eye with a big grin on my face and a big smile in my heart ( because ' happy' is my default emotion these days) and said "the Ketogenic diet". She asked more..... I quickly whipped out my note pad and wrote out a few names for her to look up. I said "this guy is an MD, he s my favourite. Dr Ken Berry but you ll get really good info from these others as well". 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁👍 Keto had me feeling great on the inside right from the get go. And now 16mths later the 'Happy' is showing itself on the outside. Whoohoo🥳 Thankyou Dr Berry for your ongoing support. Not only do you give me answers but you give me questions.👍
Yes, I do the same, give people research info answer is the best way to go. They have to take responsibility for their own health. You don't want to be anyone's 'diet/health god'!
Carol Heinz awesome my mom is 73, been keto for four months lost 30 lbs and her BP has improved! And she looks younger and loves it. She even inspired her siblings to try it.
That is great, Carol! My parents are both in their mid-70's. My dad has had a lot of success with keto/carnivore. My mom has been gradually getting off the high-carb/low-fat way of eating since she's a two-time cancer survivor. I'm trying to get her to go full-keto, but she's also been listening to my sister, who's a P.A. and thinks keto is a bad idea.
Do you mind if I ask if you all have any serious underlying disease? I know it’s very private and you don’t have to answer. I have great success with keto and would like my parents to try but my dad has cancer and both my parents are diabetic. I’m little concerned... they don’t have enough energy to cook everyday. It can make keto a little challenging
Keep up with keto and the weight naturally falls off! You tend to portion control with this food. Also as you progress, you might consider intermittent fasting and then eventually, you might want to incorporate a 24 or longer fast. And by fasting, you can do a bone broth fast to maintain muscle, or have bulletproof coffee or tea during your fast. There are a couple of ways to go to still maintain ketosis during your fast. I usually try to fast weekly for a 20-24 hour period which is quite easy as I work nights and when I come home, I’m DEAD tired, so I’m playing catch up on sleep. Thus I’m only not eating for another 8-10 hours of that period. And it really helps my body.
And I do keto because my joints are really bad since childhood my knees have been dislocating thus I’m bone on bone despite 8 knee surgeries- still need total knees on both but I’ve got to put that off until I finish putting my kids through college which will be another 10 years. This food plan makes so much difference!
Thank you Dr. Berry! I'm 73, have a stent for heart disease, MGUS, and Glaucoma. Since starting Keto 3 weeks ago I've lost. 20 lbs, my blood sugar has stabilized at 88 to 115, and I'm sleeping 8-9 hours every nite with only 1 stop at the porcelain facility. Thanks again.
im 18 and I really want to help my grandpa, i love him but he is depressive and i think he’s starting to have alzehimer also. hes starting to make changes lowering the sugar but i really wanna make him keto. im in keto for 3 months and im great. i used to be ADHD and have anxiety but now i can talk fluently, pay attention in class and be realxed. thank you so much
Great results, congratulations!! Dr. Berry says for the elderly who don't want to change their diet, (or can't because of memory issues in his case) to sneak some MCT oil in their oatmeal
While I feel for you, your grandpa is still an ADULT who can make his own choices. As good-intentioned as you are, please understand that it is HE who needs to decide to change. A new lifestyle does not last at all if it is forced on somebody. The most you can do is to tell him about Keto and that he would feel better if he did so. Give him the information and let him decide what he wants to do.
Well, I have no excuses now! I am soon to be 71 and have been reluctant to start on keto in spite of the great reviews. It's time to get healthy! Thanks
Absolutely, easy easy.. what blows my mind is the grocery isn’t getting more of our money since we only shop produce, meats, cheeses, which are all outer isles.. zero carbs as in empty nutrients .. it’s actually cheaper because like most only need one meal a day.. hardest part of shopping is getting all my sparkling water😂😂
I’m 7/ and keto a year. DO IT. you won’t regret it and start looking forward to the best part of your life coming up. I would do it just for the brain health. Stable moods. Joy.
Erics Granny- You should give Keto a try. There’s a previous comment from a 97 soon to be 98 who had just started on Keto a few months back. I’m 65, and started on Keto a few months as well, and now on IF/OMAD, have to force myself to eat. It’s a new way of eating for me, not a diet.
I'll be 73 next month. Been watching my carbs for some time. Walking 3-4 miles every day. Started on my Keto journey 4 days ago. Feel good. Not hungry. Need to lose about 40 pounds. High hopes. Love your videos!
I am a 68 yr old working long haul truck driver. Started high fat/low carb mid January this year at 210 pounds. I weighed 185 just this past weekend at home. I'm probably not 100 % keto but I only eat once a day after I shut down in the evening. So far my skin has cleared up and I don't get leg cramps in bed at night anymore.
67 and 9 months in to Keto lost 42 lbs back to my high school weight. What an enjoyable diet! My wife loves it because she enjoys cooking. It’s like being free to eat what they’ve been telling you is bad for you. Also kicked some meds that cost 100s of $ a month. My doctor wasn’t sure when I started this diet but after 2 intense diagnostic checkups said “keep doing what you’re doing”. No more arthritis pain in neck or shoulder...thanks Dr Ken!!!

Lost 50 pounds, and now in maintenance mode. Easy.
Eating keto us actually easier because it restricts the often overwhelming choice of foods available in Western supermarkets. This useful choice limiting also makes growing ones own vegetables easier too. After 6 months on the keto lifestyle my health has improved exponentially, and at no extra financial cost too. I'm a 61 y.o. retired MD and spreading the word as widely as I can. All power to your channel Dr B!
I'm 66 and started the keto diet 5 weeks. So much easier than I imagined it would be and I'm feeling great. Thank you so much for clarifying all this confusing information and the encouragement! : )
Keto changed my life. I am 55 years old and suffered daily with inflammation. Weight loss, reduced information including bladder control was the beginning of the wonderful changes. High energy and decrease depression are just some of the amazing side effects. Thanks Dr. Berry.

I turn 56 in January 2020. I have never felt better I have never been over weight I started keto after spending alot of hours researching the benefits if keto on health in general and for me it's all about the long term health benefits. I am currently a Realtor but in the past I owned a gym for 14 years and lived the body building lifestyle. Today I feel that I have lived a 50 year deception as to what we have always been told is a healthy american diet. Today and after 8 months eating keto I am convinced that this is the true path to good health. I eat good fats daily and all of my carbs from vegetables I buy grass fed and finished meats. I feel so energetic, so light and un inflamed .. I work out moderately these days and am able to maintain my muscle tone. I wake up to a totally flat belly with signs of six pack just underneath my skin. I do my work outs in fasted state sometimes and am never feeling week. Everyone I run into sooner or later receives some schooling on all that I have learned and experienced with my keto lifestyle. I do preventive health screenings and everything has come out perfect. My only negative was the first week transitioning from my old eating habits to keto caused me 3 to 4 days of doubt because I felt so bad..I quickly did more research and learned that I just needed to take care of my electrolytes and minerals. Havent looked back since. Thank you Dr. Berry for all of your invaluable information..
I'm 63. Been working at ... and then on... IF and Keto for about 6 weeks. Lost 30+ pounds. We are lowering my high blood pressure meds as a result. My blood glucose readings are way down. And I've been in ketosis since my 3 day fast quite a while ago. Maybe even earlier than that. I'm still figuring things out and I must say I'm rather enjoying the ride so far. Thanks for your videos, Dr. Berry. You're very informative and supportive.
I'm 53, been on keto since October 2018, lost 45 lbs in 3 months, my A1C went from 9.2 to 5.7, and my BP normalized for the first time in 28 years. I never felt better in my life. Thanks Dr Berry, your videos have been very helpful to me.

What is your personal experiences? You had any benefits?
I'm 67. 2months ago I went for my yearly physical and told the Dr.

Many people are Diabetic or Pre-Diabetic when they start.
I’m 61, doing keto for 18 months, down 65 pounds and feeling great. This is my way of eating for the rest of my life.

Wow. I'd like to drop quite a few dress sizes. Gives me hope.

Add mct oil daily to his diet...great reviews on mental clarity! 💜
Erics Granny- Eric will be so happy!! You will have more pep in your step! Less jiggle in your wiggle, the biggest smile and more piece of mind 💪🧠👀👍💜
Welcome to your new healthy way of life!!!
I'll be 73 next month. Been watching my carbs for some time. Walking 3-4 miles every day. Started on my Keto journey 4 days ago. Feel good. Not hungry. Need to lose about 40 pounds. High hopes. Love your videos!
You will be fine ;-) better late than never !
T-BIRD - You will be so happy!!
If you stick to that keto, you might have to walk a little less. You might get so skinny you will dry up and blow away! Lol just kidding. Good Luck!
My husband and I are 64, been on ketogenic diet 1.5 years, with intermittent fasting, experienced weight loss, improved mental focus, energy, libido despite caregiving for loved one with dementia! We stay motivated with Dr. Berry RUclips’s! Very thankful!
55 years old here been eating low carb/ Keto for the last 3 years... I feel better than I did when I was 20! After having six children including twins, you can see my abs without me doing any ab workouts at all!💪🏽🔥
I am curious as I am trying to lose belly fat. Did the loose skin tighten?
Easiest thing i have ever done! Feel 20 yrs younger ....im 60 and still work a very laborous job ,eating keto gives me tons of energy that is long lasting.....
I've stuck with it for two years now. It's getting easier all the time because of so many new recipes on you tube
Just started keto August 30, 2019. I'm 65, have lost 22 lbs. Already!!!. Im a convert!! For life
Best lifestyle change and the easiest to follow, I ever made! I am 67 and have lost 30 pounds on Keto so far. Never felt better! I would recommend this eating plan to anyone over or under 60, for that matter!
57 years old. Doing Keto for 7 years since I found out I was diabetic. I have my insulin resistance under control with no medication(A1C 4.2) and im in the best health of my life. Keto forever.
I'm 69 and been keto for 3 months. A1c is 4.9 , cholesterol is less than 170, blood pressure is awesome! So far so good! Love your videos and thank you.
I am 66 years old have lost 35 pounds by following Dr. Berry’s diet advise.
I'm 50 and have lost 35 lbs in 100 days since starting keto. I don't find it difficult or restrictive in any way.
I'm 65 and doing Keto since Oct 2018. I've lost 33 lbs and feel so good from the inside out. People who haven't seen me for awhile say I look 20 years younger. Thank you Dr. Berry. I've sent many many people to your channel. I believe you are making a better world with your research and youtube videos!!
So that's an average of about a pound a month, how did you stay motivated? I'm curious because I'm doing carnivore but not losing weight yet...
Been on the diet for 3 years (since I retired). Along with good cardio exercise, I’m 66 and never felt better. Zero ailments. Planning on running a marathon in May.
Just turned 60, have never felt better. Been keto for 9 months. Have been told on a regular basis that i look 40!!! Keto is life❤❤❤
I am going to be 70 in July and I have never felt healthier, been more fit (my trainer is so proud of how lean and healthy I am), enjoyed tasting food (when you get old your taste buds, they say, get dull) and I cut out one entire blood pressure pill, free floating intermittent anxiety on awakening is gone, GERD is gone gone gone! Keto on my friends and THANK YOU DR. BERRY! Ribs and asparagus
tonight with a fathead biscuit and grass fed butter!
I will be 70 in July too! I wish I would of found Keto sooner!
Jan Richmond . Great video and great comments from so many people it’s uplifting to hear everybody doing so well. I’m a 52 year old truck driver and have been doing the keto thing for about three years and I would not eat any other way it’s so basic and simple.
What's a fat head bisquit??
71 here! Keto is so easy. If you like eating meat and salads you can do this. It's that simple!
I know! It's so cool to order a steak and salad w/o dressing. I carry my EVOO with me and use it.
@@samwest314 I ask for lemon to squeeze on my salads. That might be good with EVOO, too.
I am 68 years old with arthritis and for the most part sedentary. My Dr strongly recommended Keto to me right before Christmas 2018. Since January 1st I have lost 40 pounds, almost effortlessly. I have gone from keeping it rather quiet that I was eating Keto, to now telling anybody interested in listening to me all about it! Thank you Dr Berry for all your informational videos!
I am 62, started with keto for about a week, realized I was still hungry, did some further research, found Dr berry, realized I was not eating enough protein and more specifically not the kind that was right for me. started to cycle in carnivore 2 days a week, realized how great I felt. Carnivore all the way. Lost 43 pounds in 5 months. Never hungry. Blood sugar normal and beginning of dementia reversed. Thank you Dr ken.
I’m 47 and have been doing keto for 24 months. It’s the only diet I’ve ever tried that’s both sustainable and efficacious. And I’ve tried a lot.

Me too!!
I'm 45, and I totally agree.
I am 60, was up to 285 lbs, 15 months later, 188 lbs. My HDL is high, triglycerides low. Ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting never felt so Good
Way to go! 👏😊
Initially it MAY feel restrictive because of the sugar addiction but in time, once that nasty sugar addiction is gone, the keto lifestyle is totally satisfying.
I'm 82 and started alternate day fasting while trying to keep carbs low last August. I've lost 27 lbs and feel great, although my pants are too big now. It's not hard or painful and my energy is better, as well as mental clarity. For snacks, I eat dill pickles and chunks of butter, both two of my favorite foods. I'm almost down to my weight when I married at 27.
Ha! I nearly lost my pants while shopping the other day. Had to push the cart with one hand and hold my pants up with the other.
I’m turning 60 soon and this is the best and easiest new lifestyle. Never hungry! Dr. Berry is top of my Keto team! My goal is to not have Alzheimer’s like my Mom! Thank you, Dr. Berry!
All of these comments are so inspiring! Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences!❤️👍🏼
Been doing Keto for a year and it’s amazing, I never thought I’d feel this good at 67 years old. My arthritis and aches disappearing and my body looks 30 years younger. Can’t thank you enough Ken for your videos, I am spreading the word to others about how good Keto is. Annette UK
WOW!!! To all of you who have posted here, THANK YOU!!! You’ve inspired me so so much. I honestly thought keto wouldn’t work for people my age and older. I’m going to be 53 this year. I eat mostly keto but I’m truly inspired to go full board. And thank YOU Dr Berry for all of your wonderful videos. You’re a gift and I’m a fan💝
Had to laugh at your “people my age” you teenybopper, you. I’m nearly 80 and just starting low carb. And I feel great. (But I miss potatoes).
Thanks Doc.......I am only 75 years old. I started Keto in October 2022 then got serious in November and started doing IF in December and now do OMAD. I have lost 44 pounds and I now have a new lifestyle that works for me. No craving no starving no problems. I have been overweight all my life and done every diet in books and only gained more and more ,,,,had a heartattack and openheart surgery five years ago and still was gaining weight.....no one every gave me any of this kind of information. This lifestyle has been a lifesaver and I sure wish I had known all of this information many years ago......but thank goodness I know it now. Keep up the good work!!
64 years Old. On a Carnivore diet since August 29th, 2018. I lost 40 pounds in four months and now stay within 3 pounds of my ideal weight. It's amazing. Thanks, Ken for the videos...
As a 62 year old I'm finding Keto to be super easy and very satisfying. I like keeping it simlpe. I'm doing meat heavy Keto with intermittent fasting of 20 and 4. So glad I found Dr. Ken Berry! :)
Restrictive ? I have clipped so many recipes it will take me years to try them all ! By the way , I’m 68 and healthier than ever !
Me too...…...lol My wifes favorite question, whats for dinner tonight honey!!!
I'm 52- down 40ish lbs. A1C down from 6.4 to 5.8. No more indigestion, better skin, and I feel so much better. Best decision I've made in a long time. This WOE doesn't seem restrictive to me at all. I'm lovin' this ! Thank you Dr Berry !
I’m 67 and have lost 40 lbs. doing Keto. Keto is easy to adapt to. It’s the only diet I have been able to stick with and achieved results. Also, I feel so much better. Thank you for all these videos they have given me the tools to keep going only 20 lbs. to go.✨
How are you Dr Berry!
Welcome back!
Best regards to you and your family 🥰❤️🙏
I just turned sixty and have been Keto over two years. Super easy and you can be as creative as you like!
Been in ketosys for awhile.
71 years old and feel like 24.
Awesome way of life.
I am 55 and on Keto for 2.5 months. Not exactly sure how much weight I have lost as I chose not to weigh myself at the start, as this is as much about feeling better for me than weight loss. I THINK I have lost approx. 22lbs, my hand/finger pains have all but gone, my hip has greater range of movement, I can run up & down stairs again and I’m told I have stopped snoring at night☺️
Thank you for all your valuable videos... and wow! how perfectly clear are the whites of your eyes?!?!?!👍🏼👍🏼
🇬🇧
true, you will stop snoring:) my husband and I did after 2 weeks on carnivore
Starting the Keto diet today....I'm 80 yrs. old and got a few body problems. Following you Dr. Berry and your wife and 2 other experts here on RUclips! I prayed to be lead to help with my 12 problems and found you and this diet. Thanks so much for sharing!!:)
I'm 64, so very easy. I switched from Keto to carnivore. Best decision I've ever made. Down 50#, blood work fantastic and no longer pre-diabetic.
I'm very interested in going semi-carnivore (every other week). I guess you'd call it a meat fast. I don't currently have a cholesterol problem. Have you had your cholesterol checked? If so, have you noticed any changes in it, good or bad?
@@sekereterra Carnivore is the best for me. I've been carnivore for about 4 months. Cholesterol 180, A1c 5.6 down to 5.1, Heartburn / Acid Reflux gone.
Do you limit the amount that you eat or do you eat until you're satisfied?
@@PaulSchneider-bp2ic I eat until satiety. No over eating.
@@PaulSchneider-bp2ic Paul, I eat only in a two hour window, and eat between 1900-2200 calories. That's a pound and a half of meat, 4 1/2 cups of veggies, and then snack on olives and homemade kale chips. I'm never hungry, and eat beyond satiation every day.
Thanks Dr. Berry.
Karri Skinner Of you do not mind me asking, many carbs do you eat per day? Thank you. Congratulations on your improved health.
Gigi Davis I eat as little as possible. Some days more than other. I am not a big carb counter. I just stay closest to carnivore as possible on a high-fat diet.
Lord, I had so many of the same ailments...6 days in.. I am so much better already..truth.
I’m 63 and have been Keto for 2 years. I highly recommend and have lost 84 lb. It is the best decision I have made!
I’m 68 been doing Keto for 4 years great HDL triglycerides ratio is excellent, feel great. I do intermittent fasting on a regular basis as well.
How long did it take on keto to get your Hal/triglycerides sorted?
I'm over 60 and LOVE this diet. Medical issues are being reversed, and I have strength and health again!
@Judith Biller did you have any bowel problems. I am having severe diarreah these last 4 days. I am going to fast tomorrow.
@@eleganceandwhimsy - actually, things improved!
Great WOEating .. I'm 70 and 1 year in. Everything great, feel 40. Lost 65 pounds..
67 very satisfied with Keto. Not feeling restricted at all. 17 months living the Keto life. Down 51 lbs.
I am 75 and keto diet is the best for me
I'm 68 lost from a 20 to a 14, now its my way of life.
I'm 53, been on keto since October 2018, lost 45 lbs in 3 months, my A1C went from 9.2 to 5.7, and my BP normalized for the first time in 28 years. I never felt better in my life. Thanks Dr Berry, your videos have been very helpful to me.
I am on a ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting. I'm 70 but feel really good (no diagnosed diseases and no prescribed medications). Thank you Dr. Berry for your excellent videos; they are greatly needed.
