  • How to replace the Thermostat on a 2001 Beetle 2.0 my experience and problems. But it did fix not having heat so I am very happy! I also have not engine light on because I finally fixed everything!

    Thanks for the video. If you remove the belt and alternator, you can get at it a bit easier and maybe save the dipstick.

    A 10mm quarter inch socket with a long extension and a universal attachment works best for that hidden bolt.

      I tried that and mine was just a little to short. And couldn’t find my other set. Tools seem to disappear when I need them.

    So i have a new thermostat im putting in but it doesn't sit inside by itself am i putting something in incorrectly? If you can help that'd be great

      Make sure the old o ring is out? You don’t want two. If that’s not your problem then it might be you just need to be clean it a bit more. There isn’t much of a lip for it to sit on. Good luck!

      Yep. I finally have heat. I also think the cooling is better. Seems like it runs better too.
