Thank you! It took me between 15-16 hours of play time (including load times and character select screen) Runs were much faster once I got a little bit of gear and learned how to lure her where I wanted her to go so it depends on your starting point.
In Diablo 2, a tricky way of shopping solves most problems of the character’s weakness. The best aim is to regularly try to buy items from all in the rouge encampment. Then you can check on magical items for your character, and those you hire. Later, you can buy socketed items, leaving the sockets empty. When you repeatedly complete some quests, your gem stones can be imbued to the biggest size, then your socketed items will become the most powerful. That’s for Barbarian.
that ruby jewel of fervor drop is huge!! I was surprised you didn't make a hoto for the character with the vex (even before the pul) or start with a spirit monarch flickering flame is quite nice for farming andariel, though
Yeah it was sweet! I wonder if I will use it or if I get “too good to use”-syndrome, always waiting for a better item to use the jewel on. I’m planning on making a pure fire sorc with sundering charm for terror zones in the near future, that was also a partial reason I made flickering flame with the vex.
Thank you! The runs took about 15-16 hours. Andariel runs can be pretty fast and I do try to be efficient when doing these or it would take much longer.
@@zarfen Wow, yeah you have that down to under a minute per a run! That is quite a bit faster than I could manage. I get very distracted by random loot. I am itching to play the game again, but it really does suck up way too much time for me 😂

I grinded this game 25 years ago as a kid, for a few years, and let it go. Your video just made me want to play again. However, please, there are people with OCD here, and the fact that you let poison almost kill you everytime is a fearsome thing for people like us while watching 😅 (I'd like to smash the potion button every time I saw it on this video)
I don’t know, probably about the same. Andariel has 2 levels, but durance is much bigger than the catacombs so if you don’t find the entrance right away you can be looking for longer at meph. Maybe Andy is a little faster on average. There are not rules but “guides”. By looking at the layout of the map tile the wp is on is facing, you know which way the stairs down map tile is facing. That gives you good odds of it being in a certain direction, but not a guarantee. Catacombs lvl3 has no hints or guides
@@zarfen they do say its in NM, I tried with 500 runs around 300 mf, nothing but manald hahaha! but the ring drops was a lot more compared to hell, i guess luck was not on my side haha
Ive watched this all the way through 3 times now, and every time I feel anxiety from watching his health drop over and over from the poison damage. Haha
Haha 😁 to be honest I did die a few times after letting my health drop really low and not noticing a left-over enemy sneaking up on me while identifying loot
I like your positive attitude. Most of the time when I find many of the things you mentioned, I am disappointed. But maybe I should value the stuff more. Thank you for the motivation. I would still be interested to know how many hours it needed you about to do those 1000 runs, if I may ask.
Thank you, Philip! I appreciate your comment. I found that I’m much happier about the drops in general when I’m playing a budget/self found character so that more items are upgrades. I think I might start doing that much more. These runs took about 15-16 hours. I did 1000 mephisto runs (also budget gear) and that took a bit over 16 hours. 1000 pindle runs(mid geared character) took~12 hours IIRC. I dread the day I decide to do 1000 Diablo or Baal, that’s gonna take A LOT longer
I was thinking about doing that as a follow-up to my key running video but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. I might still do it but I don’t have such a video planned atm. I’m sure there are plenty of budget Uber videos if you search though.
How long did the 1000 runs take, I would scroll through "all" the comments but I am on my phone currently and it won't load them, I apologize if it was already asked and answered. Thank you..............Matthew from the U.S.
Yes it’s single player. I didn’t change the /players setting for these runs but the static map was very helpful. Thank you! That makes me happy to read!
Partially because I started without one and I was a bit lazy to get one later, but also because kiting Andariel away from monsters became a big part of my strategy and a merc would have messed with that. If I were to go back now I’d use one though for sure
I use a run counter app. When I save and exit on every run I press a keyboard command which adds a run to the total count. Don’t remember what it’s called and I’m not at my computer atm. If you search Diablo 2 run counter on RUclips you should find a guide by Sweet Phil that I followed to set mine up
Yeah you can farm her as soon as you get to her, as much as you want. That was kind of what I tried simulating in this video. Though to be clear this was in hell difficulty so you need to beat normal and nightmare first. In normal difficulty I would not farm Andariel personally
The runs were very slow before I got a little bit of gear and levels from the starting point so it’s a bit longer than it could be, but. My run counter says 15 hours and 45 minutes. Those hours were spread out over almost two weeks
@@WitOlszewski yeah both meph and Andy are fast to run so you can do a lot of runs in. Ofc it helps I’m offline for these runs so the map is the same between games. If I wasn’t recording for a video I would probably mix it up a little though and not grind a 1000 of the same in a row :)
A lot of people says that! I haven’t done too many terror zone runs myself yet, but I did take a short detour to terrorized Andy in my last 1000 pindle runs video and she dropped nicely then so I believe it 😅
I've played on and off since D2 original release. Thousands upon thousands of hours and thousands upon thousands of boss and area runs with 2-300 % MF. Never dropped a SoJ. Still love it though.
Back in the day it took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize what people were talking about when they said were doing an Andy run. I just assumed that Andy was a hidden male npc I didnt know about
Haha! A few times ;) Poison doesn’t ever kill you, it can only take you down to 1hp. But it did happen a few times that I didn’t notice an enemy sneaking up to me while at 1hp and busy identifying loot.
I’m not, but now I gotta go listen to him. Maybe I can steal some commentary ideas! Jokes aside, I don’t have another RUclips channel or other “media content”, must just be similar voices.
What do you mean by "You usually want the other ruby jewel"? That 15IAS 26 fire res jewel is worth quite a bit for putting into a merc's eth andys visage. Wouldnt be surprised if it was worth an ohm+
Yeah gull is nice! Very rare though, especially in the late game. I don’t know the in and outs of the drop rng but as far as I understand it’s “too low level” that most bosses in hell have a super small chance for it.
I wa so tired of running lower Kurast for high runes (never got anything higher than OHM). Then I misclicked ans was on NM instead of Hell. My very good LK patern was destroyed. So I went for NM Andariel. After 7 runs I had a Stone of Jordan. No luck with LK but a lot of luck with NM Andariel :-).
They stay dead in the same game, but if you save and exit to the main menu and click back in with your character, all monsters have respawned, including bosses
I've watched a few of your MF project videos and have always wondered what player setting you play on. I see you get so many good drops but then get discouraged when my SP hammerdin gets smashed on p7 Andy. 😭
This was players 1 setting. I do almost all my MFing on /players 1. I don’t think my budget character could have handled any higher. Additionally I don’t think it’s worth increasing even with better gear since the increased boss HP will increase run times(unless you have really good gear and clear her in seconds anyway). Running on players 1 I did have some runs where she literally dropped a single flawless gem and nothing else, but over time I believe it’s the most efficient.
You can kill Andariel behind the door if you never open it. You can lure her with teleport to the door and cast spells that fall behind the door and kill her
Yeah I saw a video of that. Cool tactic but it seems like it would take a lot of time to lure her? I didn’t try it though so maybe it would have been a good strat!
Yeah if your gearing a new char on ladder then Andariel is pretty decent but in any other case I don't ever farm her. I am more interested in the lvl 85 areas
I always play D2 casually until recently one of my newly created character found 3 pieces of Tal Ra Sha on first run in hell difficulty. Now I'm farming like crazy to get the other pieces. It's a torment to say the least...
The armor and the amulet can be so hard to find… good luck, the set is awesome! I finally finished the set with the amu I found during this video, but haven’t tried it out yet in D2R
Tal armor is a pain in the a.. I have played diablo 2 as teen regularly for several years. Had dozens of lv 90 chars. Bought resurrected and played some month a sorc. I found first time in my life the armor in the act 2 tomb in the first region which now has high lv mobs. Insane drop rates did this game have.
Andy has always been a breeze for my fire/fury werewolf druid on high party member setting its the act 2 boss and diablo that gave me issues on my first runs. Idk why peeps hate on the fury werewolf. I'm flying through everything except those couple of bosses.
Andy's loot pool is too big on Hell, narrowing down to nightmare would be better target farming. 1 in 2721 on Hell vs 1 in 1617 on Nightmare. Sure you miss out on other gear but thats not that important. Usually on new characters/seasons i pretty much grind andy on nightmare asap until i get 2 Sojs, You still get levels, its easy to farm with teleport don't really require gear for it and you will start to out level the rest of the content pretty quickly while doing this. the average is about 1 ring a day of farming but sometimes i've had 2 rings before even 1000 runs but then again i've also experienced 4000+ runs without a single Soj. mind you that 1 run takes about 30 second with good gear, and with no gear 1 minute per run ~ on average. so 1000 runs into minutes is about 16 hours of actual torture grinding.
Not sure I agree that it’s worth it to miss out on all that other potential good loot on a new character just for better chance of a soj. The runs were pretty hard before I got some decent gear though, so it might be worth it just to have more chill runs when gearing from start 😄
I made a mistake at 0:12 - Diablo can not drop every item in the game.
But close!

Cool video! About how long does it take you to complete these 1000 run videos?
Thanks! The runs took 15-16 hours. Early on a run took upwards of 2 minutes but in the end a run could be as short as 35-40 seconds.
Enjoyed your vid mate. Is this eternal realm or single player?
Thanks! This was single player so I had a static map which was nice for teleporting in the catacombs but no changes to /players settings
Trevlig video! Jag har precis börjat köra D2 igen efter 20 år =)
Tack 🙂
Nice! Hoppas spelet välkomnar dig tillbaka med bra loot.
Really accurate recreation of the first Nagel find
Awesome video. How lo does it take to run Andy 1000 times ?
Thank you! It took me between 15-16 hours of play time (including load times and character select screen)
Runs were much faster once I got a little bit of gear and learned how to lure her where I wanted her to go so it depends on your starting point.
A fellow crown enjoyer for helmet runeword bases I see, now you have my attention.
Crowns are my #1 right now. #2 is probably skull cap because they look funny.
Tiaras/circlets are so mid/late 2000’s 😜
@@zarfen Crowns are my favourite, but the bone helm still holds an edgy place in my heart.
@@TheTamally ah yeah that’s a good one too! Looks sick in resurrected
that ruby jewel of fervor drop is huge!! I was surprised you didn't make a hoto for the character with the vex (even before the pul) or start with a spirit monarch
flickering flame is quite nice for farming andariel, though
Yeah it was sweet! I wonder if I will use it or if I get “too good to use”-syndrome, always waiting for a better item to use the jewel on.
I’m planning on making a pure fire sorc with sundering charm for terror zones in the near future, that was also a partial reason I made flickering flame with the vex.
@@zarfen ethereal andariel's visage with a good leech roll should be the perfect home for the jewel!
@@87539319 I’ll be on the lookout for one for sure!
@@zarfen lightninng is almost always faster clears
Nice video and great results from those runs. How long did that take you? I think it would take me at least 80 hours of game play...
I am itching to play the game again, but it really does suck up way too much time for me 😂
@@fredrichardson9761 when I don’t have a clear goal (like doing 1000 runs for a video) I also pick up WAY too much random loot and play quite slow in general 😁
you said that when you found the tals helm it was your third item? but when you identified the tals ammy... you can clearly see that you have the whole set? so was this unintentional?
I’m thinking about buying d2r to play on my parents toaster computer (basically a glorified tablet) I am able to play d2 classic and heroes of the storm on it for references ..will D2R work?
I usually do andy to gear the sorc, and then meph to gear other chars until I can come into Chaos Sanctuary.
or go javazon if you get plvl'd and just do cowz
What is the highest rune catacombs level 4 and Andariel can drop?, yesterday i found a Sur Rune and the zone wasn't terrorized.
Quick question: who is a QUICKER run? Mephisto or andariel? There’s no rule on how to find the stairs down right?
I don’t know, probably about the same.
Andariel has 2 levels, but durance is much bigger than the catacombs so if you don’t find the entrance right away you can be looking for longer at meph. Maybe Andy is a little faster on average.
There are not rules but “guides”. By looking at the layout of the map tile the wp is on is facing, you know which way the stairs down map tile is facing. That gives you good odds of it being in a certain direction, but not a guarantee. Catacombs lvl3 has no hints or guides
Bones snap was my favorite weapon when I was a kid!
I love that they changed the weapon model so it looks like it does on the inventory screen!
i thought i was the only one not getting any soj from andariel haha nice run tho. 👍
Not a single soj in sight! 😔 will I have to resort to running nm Andariel? Plz no…
Thanks! 🙂
@@zarfen they do say its in NM, I tried with 500 runs around 300 mf, nothing but manald hahaha! but the ring drops was a lot more compared to hell, i guess luck was not on my side haha

@@zarfen yes ! 🤝
Keep up the great work man! I wish Andy dropped better items but I feel like she's only really useful for target farming specific items or jewelry.
Thanks!
Yeah for general magic finding she has tough competition from Meph.
If a SOJ is what you're after, farm NM Andy. She has a better chance of dropping it than Hell Andy does.
Ive watched this all the way through 3 times now, and every time I feel anxiety from watching his health drop over and over from the poison damage. Haha
Haha 😁 to be honest I did die a few times after letting my health drop really low and not noticing a left-over enemy sneaking up on me while identifying loot
Try watching 1000 times and tell us what will drop.
@@zarfen Thank you so much. That information helps a lot, to see how much time I will have to invest roughly.
NP, good luck with the runs!
Can you make a video about running the ubers for torches, and a guide for very, very poor-mans version on how to run it?
I was thinking about doing that as a follow-up to my key running video but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. I might still do it but I don’t have such a video planned atm. I’m sure there are plenty of budget Uber videos if you search though.
This was super fun to watch.
Thank you! That makes me so glad to read.
How long did the 1000 runs take, I would scroll through "all" the comments but I am on my phone currently and it won't load them, I apologize if it was already asked and answered. Thank you..............Matthew from the U.S.
No problem Matthew. These runs took 15-16 hours. The runs were quite a bit slower at the beginning compared to the end.
Hey, are you playing on single player? Great channel, much approved!
Yes it’s single player. I didn’t change the /players setting for these runs but the static map was very helpful.
Thank you! That makes me happy to read!
Why no merc?. An Insight and that VGaze and Guardian Angel wouke be lovely
Partially because I started without one and I was a bit lazy to get one later, but also because kiting Andariel away from monsters became a big part of my strategy and a merc would have messed with that. If I were to go back now I’d use one though for sure
A merc will just die if you do not have the gear for him andy will just rek it in 2 seconds so waste of gold
Was this done on quest bugged Andy runs, or regular?
AFAIK they fixed the quest bug and now Andy always drops “good” regardless
How did you keep track of the runs? Pen and paper?
I use a run counter app. When I save and exit on every run I press a keyboard command which adds a run to the total count. Don’t remember what it’s called and I’m not at my computer atm. If you search Diablo 2 run counter on RUclips you should find a guide by Sweet Phil that I followed to set mine up
That jewel was a BANGER!
Does only 1 Gheed's work at a time or something?
Correct. You can’t even carry 2 at the same time
Good video and commentary . Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the kind comment!
Out of curiosity... Was this done on players1 or higher?
Default /players 1
so you can only do this if you beat the game already? or can i just keep killing her and almost dying when i first get to her just starting out?
Yeah you can farm her as soon as you get to her, as much as you want. That was kind of what I tried simulating in this video.
Though to be clear this was in hell difficulty so you need to beat normal and nightmare first. In normal difficulty I would not farm Andariel personally
i like how stupidly you like loot and your accent is very nice. and your videos arent full of cringey filler ty
Haha thanks! I DO love loot 😁
Tackar för underhållningen
I’m super casual D2R player, so I’m curious, how long does it take to run 1000 Andy runs? Like a week?
The runs were very slow before I got a little bit of gear and levels from the starting point so it’s a bit longer than it could be, but. My run counter says 15 hours and 45 minutes. Those hours were spread out over almost two weeks
@@zarfen that doesn’t sound that bad, I need to try my 1000 Andy runs one day :D
Cheers!
@@WitOlszewski yeah both meph and Andy are fast to run so you can do a lot of runs in. Ofc it helps I’m offline for these runs so the map is the same between games.
If I wasn’t recording for a video I would probably mix it up a little though and not grind a 1000 of the same in a row :)
dont forget to mention terror zone andy is probably one of the best terror zones in the game
A lot of people says that! I haven’t done too many terror zone runs myself yet, but I did take a short detour to terrorized Andy in my last 1000 pindle runs video and she dropped nicely then so I believe it 😅
Plus the fact that you can bug her to get her boosted loot drop bonus . . . Not really sure if it's really a bug at this point though. . .
That is no longer present in Diablo 2 resurrected. She now always drops her good drop (what used to be her bugged drop)
I just assumed that Andy was a hidden male npc I didnt know about
So how many times do you cut out dying from poision after andariel is dead. ;)
Haha! A few times ;)
Poison doesn’t ever kill you, it can only take you down to 1hp. But it did happen a few times that I didn’t notice an enemy sneaking up to me while at 1hp and busy identifying loot.
I like the flickering flame but not a fan of the helm .. shoulda used a horn helm or a cap
If I didn’t go for a crown I’d consider a horned helm or maybe a bone helm, but a regular cap? No way! 😜
I knew I knew you from somewhere... are you the guy who does Military History Visualized?!
Jewels with % enhanced damage and ias are also called Ruby jewel of fervor, that’s what I was referring to 🙂
Getting gullwing is nice as well. Not sure if drop rate is better of her or cold crow but that dagger is amazing
Yeah gull is nice! Very rare though, especially in the late game. I don’t know the in and outs of the drop rng but as far as I understand it’s “too low level” that most bosses in hell have a super small chance for it.
Rare caster ring was best thing you found
Was it that good? I guess I’m bad at rating rare items. I’m definitely going to use it on many characters though :)
what time was that in the vid pls? i somehow missed that lol
Andariel is the best farming spot on the game?
She’s good but unless she’s terrorized she can’t drop every item so it’s not the best imo
how do u get Tal Rasha 4 Part Bonus without the helmet ?
I wa so tired of running lower Kurast for high runes (never got anything higher than OHM). Then I misclicked ans was on NM instead of Hell. My very good LK patern was destroyed. So I went for NM Andariel. After 7 runs I had a Stone of Jordan. No luck with LK but a lot of luck with NM Andariel :-).
Haven’t played Diablo 2 in ages but don’t bosses stay dead? Is he restarting the game for every run?
@@zarfen thanks so much for the reply! I have renewed faith in doing Andy/Meph runs!
Andariel has one of the best boss arenas in my opinion love the setting.
Seems like a good plan. Get some basic gear at a boss and then grind areas.
Full send on Andy tonight got a Shako so thats pretty nice =D.
how can u not handle H Mefisto with sorceress? as soon as u get teleport and firewall, u're done.
How many hours did it take to do 1000 runs?
About 15 hours, but the early runs with super budget gear took much longer than in the end.
I cannot imagine the determination and effort of doing Andariel 1000 runs then there is no SOJ. I am a newbie and I would like to try this one too.
Get a radaments sphere pretty much makes you immune to poison
Man, when this game first came up about 25 years ago, i blew up one disc 2 on the drive due to overheat 😂
Andy has always been a breeze for my fire/fury werewolf druid on high party member setting its the act 2 boss and diablo that gave me issues on my first runs. Idk why peeps hate on the fury werewolf. I'm flying through everything except those couple of bosses.
How long did 1000 runs take?
Like 15 hours. Including loading/character selection but excluding transferring items to and organizing the shared stash etc
Is this on normal or a higher difficulty?
Hell difficulty!
My favorite class is the druid, specifically the wind druid. I don't play at all but the release of d4 makes me want to play again.
Don't. It's just nostalgia. The game stinks now.
Great content, man, so sad there was no SoJ in there :/
Thank you! Yeah a bit of a bummer. I might have to go and farm NM Andariel if one doesn’t drop soon…
If you want soj nm andy is the way to go less loot to compete with
Was this on players 1?
Yes!
got SOJ on my first Andariel kill when Ressurected released
I’m jealous!
But what a great start to resurrected!
What map hack are you using? I am afraid to get ban
I do not use a map hack.
If you are referring to the map being visible it’s because it’s single player
How do you fight the same boss over and over again?
In Diablo 2 every monster and boss re-spawns every time you start a new game
is this on players 7/1 or 1/1?
All on default/players 1
Why not to run her terrorized? I got 7 Tal armors in 2 hours and 2 tyrael mights in 2 days
Nice! Maybe I’ll do that another time. I wanted to run normal Andy this time, for the sake of the video (gearing up as a budget starter)
So something I saw in the very beginning, his magic items show up blue on the ground, in my game they do not. I’m on ps4, anything I can do?
I’ve never heard of that problem before, but have you checked so you don’t have some sort of color blind assist setting on or something?
@@zarfen yeah, I even turned on the colorblind to see if it would change it, none of the settings have fixed it.
How long did 1000 andy runs take.
