Das war noch Rennsport Feeling 😁💪👍..sieht man heute nicht mehr .. Schade das ich noch zu jung war das live zusehen... Zu dem damaligen Zeitpunkt war das einfach super...😎💪
That Opel Calibra had active aero and chain driven front wheels. Such an unbelievable car... Speed hunters has an excellent deep dive on this absolute monster.
I like how you combine the history of the sport with clips of the sounds these beasts made. It combines 2 of my favorite things in motorsports; the history of how the icons of the sport came about, and the pure eargasms those powerplants produced. I can't wait to see this channel grow!
An interesting fact that I don’t think was mentioned in the video was that, in race trim, the E30 M3 2.5L engine was putting out about 400 hp at 10,000 RPM. That 160hp/L without forced induction!
@@davidvitan3590 The 1995 Alfa 155 dtm V6 generated more than 490 hp at 11 700 rpm, but this was basically a scilouette-racer on a tube-frame, and the engine had little in common with the production-engine. The last officially factory-backed E30 had 365 hp in 1992.
Th 635CSi did not start its DTM carrer in 1990 but in 1984, before the E30 arrived actually. 1989 one private team was left with the 635, from 1990 on no 635 any more, only E30.
This is really the story of two different DTMs. While everyone has their own preferences for what constitutes proper racing, it’s difficult for me to take Class 1 seriously. The cars are spectacular, but the formula was a dangerous performance/technology addiction that nearly killed DTM, in a vain attempt to give the manufacturers (and Bernie Ecclestone) a new international series, the ITC. It’s no surprise that the latest attempt to eliminate DTM (2.0 turbos) would also be know as Class 1. Group A was the true Golden Era. The racing was competitive and the series was financially solvent. It needed a few level-headed measures to provide greater separation between production cars and touring race cars. Class 1 was obviously not the answer.
The 155 Ti blew the germans away so much so that they had to change the regulations for the Germans to even compete with the 155... to this day the Germans still cannot build a balanced light weight vehicle with a musical 2.5 V6!
Help me please . BMW it has no 34 on it and MARANGONI AVAILABLE AT KWIK FIT DOWN IT'S SIDE AND TOP WINDSHIELD . CAN anyone TELL ME anything ABOUT THIS CAR PLEASE AS I'VE FOUND PICTURES OF IT RACING ON A TRACK . NO PLATE LOOKS LIKE PULP D-ZIGN
I did not like the video. the cars you listed in the title the cars you showed... the cars that made DTM were e30m3 and 190evo. DTM in the "golden era" why was it golden? Because they were something you could buy from your dealer. homologation specials. DTM was in its prime mid eighties to maybe 91, the first year the 190evo took a title. Lets look at the cars? Ok? Lets look you show me a couple german and an italian? where is the FORD RS that took the title in 88? The Rover in 86? The Audi in 90? These were the true golden ages! The M3 cut its teeth in 87 and won again in 89. If you took the era with the best cars the ones people could buy the ones that made the series the Evo190 and E30 had three titles, others held three 1986 to 1991. Extended a year earlier or later you get Volvo winning in 85 Merc in 92 so four and four.... yet you dont show any of these cars? They won an equal number of races and titles? One of the best stories of DTM was the team that ran a Ford Mustang for four years! I did not see it in your video nor was there any mention of it? DTM was great for its diversity of cars and they were cars you could buy, along with most of the parts if you wanted them. It was a special time and it was bigger than just the two German cars.... more detail if you should make a part 2 with greater focus on the cars their road versions and why this was something that propelled DTM to its heights.
Those intake noises: pure eargasm... And by the way: your pronunciation of "Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterscahaft" is pretty much spot on. Thumbs up!
Thank you very much :)
that cone stuck in the front grill says it all 🔥🔥🔥

The E30 was a surprisingly effective weapon here in Australia even when up against our own V8 tourers.

That's a huge exaggeration, but yes, the race version did put out a LOT more than 200/240 hp. The 2.5 probably made around 340 hp

@@davidvitan3590the s14 maxed out at 370ish 380ish..... the cosworths made slightly more HP, like about 10 more.... he wasn't too far off......
Very mice, but you forgot about the annoying brick from the small team in Sweden that was so amazing in ETC/DTM the Volvo 240Turbo groupA.

You should look at the V8 Supercar Era of the ATCC
Ill be sure to check it out. I always appreciate new ideas and suggestions. Thank you :)
You're doing good things keep it up.
I appreciate that. Ill be coming out with more videos soon :)

Very well said. I agree with that, thank you for the feedback :)
Group A for DTM, Group B for Rally, Group C for Endurance racing, all the golden eras of the respective motorsport in my opinion.
Group A rally was also good
This is why I love cars and driving
Alfa and BMW amazing sounds.
Personally the Alfa sound is just something special
nice jo! Great footage of the era :)
Thank you very much. I appreciate it :)
Insane cars. Way ahead of time
Forgot to mention the Benz C-class v6 that battled with the155ti and the Opel.
Make more of these! Video idea: Pre war racing cars (auto union, Mercedes etc.) and crazy le mans cars of the early 70s!
hey, I can't believe this video doesn't have 100.000s of views! great job
Thank you so much, hopefully we get there one day
@@JaPsGraph keep going bro, you'll get there!
Alfa dominated in BTCC british touring series with it's 155, but W201 Mercedes and E30 BMW were the all time champs!
Great video, but werent there many other constructors other than the ones you listed? Like ford, volvo, vauxhall?
Best looking cars ever
Good stuff thanks
Unfortunately, I have to be smart. The Evo models are also 2.5 liters, the 2.3 liters were only available until 1988.
Evo1 and 2 were only made in 2.5-16. 2.3-16 were the previous cosworths running dtm before evo variants.
The only legend of the DTM is the Alfa 155 V6!
One of the greatest indeed :)
Fuck off, e30 M3 DTM was the most successful and most iconic.... Even Klaus Ludwig stated the e30 M3 is the gold standard.........
Alfa romeo 155 ❤
I believe DTM wasn't FIA regulated in the beginning.

What about Volvo I've seen a couple vids with them in dtm as a touring car
I believe no DTM but BTCC.
got damn, e30 m3 and merc 190e evo are two of the greatest looking cars of all time
240 hp? Not even close more like 380-420hp put of the benz and beemer. Not the same as the engine your getting at the dealer.
Ford Sierra Cosworth.
