I manged to play in all three sessions and loved pretty much all of it! I spent more time in the build menu than I care to admit, since nothing is transferring over, but that just means I get to build it again! The clan room is empty. My friend and I made a clan and were able to go in, its just a table and a console for now. The only thing that worries me is the multiplayer. My friend and I were in our own lobby, cause the public ones were having connection issues. It was just the 2 of us, and we were still disconnected/booted out multiple times. But when the connection stable, it was amazing.
I’ve been enjoying GB4 so far, I have not played the third though. I will say missions and combat are repetitive, but if you love building this is somewhat helped by knowing what does change is your own custom Gundam. I noticed you won’t unlock synthesis in the end of chapter 3 but if you want to upgrade the quality of parts you need chapter 4 missions. So to some extent you will fairly into the game when you truly can deck out your creations.
I have a billion hours on Breaker 3 my build is a melee focused beast, no long range, no no no, none of that murika hunga bunga BS, it's all speed and badass martial arts, straight from G gundam. Breaker 4 definitely builds upon breaker 3 and a solid step forward still no wave rider mode for transformable suits😕, i'm surprised it actually performs better than Breaker 3 on ps4. Can't wait for the full game.
Wave rider will never happen due to the customisation, arguably the only way to implement it without clipping would be to do a straight build of the original suit which goes against the premise of the game
@@Wezt334 i figured it had something to do with the engine yeah, that sort of transformation albeit much simpler in both purpose and execution the goal was always a quick and practical mode for long distance travels not something complex like Transformers, it's still pretty complex for the type of customisation we're going for, even Armored Core had one transformable AC, the Nine Ball Seraph but FromSoft never gave us trasformable parts, i assume for the same reason. Also, NGL i do have straight builds in GB3 i just mix and match fighting styles for the heck of it. I have an RX-78-2 using martial arts for instance.
Wasn't able to get on thanks to time clashes, it looks better than I'd thought it would and glad to hear it runs well (if they can sort out the online anyway). Thanks for covering it!
My only complaint is that the open test is over and we never really got a demo. Damn thing is still a whole month away from release and the wait is torture, lol
Also about previous entries, I have played the third and if this is similar, I can tell the story is good and spams for lot of time, allowing you to get other parts there and everything semed to match correctly too, Im eager to see the complete game
I was able to play the open network test and I will say that GB4 has what it takes to be a fun experience for those who haven't played GB3. With that being said, the biggest unknown for me is if were going to be able to improve the stats of our Gunpla parts or not. Cause if not its a huge sale if not a out right pass for me because no one should have to R&G that hard for a part.
A small issue and a small amazement There's no official master grade or perfect grade kit to play as in the game But my amazement is the " scaling "on each parts.. option I manage to make a towering version of banshee and barbatos.. to make them as close to model kit scaling as possible.. Since most of the npc's are based on Entry grade and high grade Also a few nit picks. Some of the model kit packaging is listed as HG-high grade Even tho the box states is Master grade.. Ow well "scaling option" too the rescue Played it on steam version
The customization is what I needed from a Gundam game. But Gundam Breaker 4 combat is not the gundam game I needed. Not a fan of mindless button smashing. I need a gundam game like Gundam Assault Survive or another century BUT combat should be something more mech-ish feeling probably similar to a hybrid GB02, extreme vs and daemonxmachina/armoredcore.
i was interested in this game but wasnt sure if i wanted another big mech battle game. then i see the game play and it is reminding me of gacha force from the gamecube and now i really want to get this game lol
All I care about now is how compelling the story mode is and how long it is. AC6 had incredible customization, I must have spent nearly half my time with that game in the garage making half a dozen ultra-tuned mechs throughout the game. I even got the perfect mercenary achievement before a lot of the hardest bosses were nerfed, but overall the game sucked. The story had more plot holes than plot, and it's just so short even with the three play throughs that unlock different missions each time. Gundam Breakers looks like it's gonna be every bit as good in terms of customization, probably even better, but will it's actual gameplay content justify the grind of unlocking 1,000+ parts? And considering how under wraps they've kept the story mode from getting reviewed, I'm not confident right now.
Online was actually only for multiplayer it turns out as I didn't realize my membership had expired till I tried to join and paid and then it barely worked lol
Gundam Breaker 4 is just a better game, both for fans and newcomers. Fans especially since you build your own dream mobile suits with this game. SD Battle Alliance is just a mediocre hack and slash with an admittedly high quality presentation.
If you can get this game on the Playstation or PC, do that. There's no comparison in quality. I played both Open Network Tests and can safely say the Playstation version was far more responsive. Also, since the Switch version has to be downgraded to even run you can tell there are textures missing from the kit pieces and there are photos to prove this. If you love going into the garage/assembly to spend time customizing and painting down to the very last detail this is a major deal. Yes, the Switch version will run at 30 FPS most of the time. I did experience framerate issues when my friends and enemy units were all in the same spot. That did not happen on the Playstation version. If you only have a Switch and no other way to play this fantastic game then by all means go for it! Or if you are getting it on the Switch to play with friends because that's all they have! I have an Xbox so I understand that feeling!
depends really, on which platform you would use more often. but id say steam, cos switch isn't all that great with its network infrastructure at times. so steam might be better, especially if you have a steam deck.
Im personally getting it on the switch for the portability and im not spending so much money on a steam deck but the best choice is probably steam to have a powerful machine with your pc and a portable machine with the steam deck
Jesus. I did not see this was switch and for the first few seconds I was lime “Why the fuck does this look so fucking ass?” - then the channel logo came up and I said out loud “Thank God”. I cannot wait for Switch 2. Either games will no longer look like AA PS3/360 games or, the Switch 2 will just be a half assed meme and it will just drive AAA away from potato systems. Not about graphics kids, it is about performance. As a Fan of many Nintendo locked developers, I would LOVE to see a Xenoblade Chronicles game that runs good. Sadly, we have only had one, and it is stuck on Wii U
Funny how you're complaining and everyone confirmed this game runs at a locked 30fps meaning it's more than playable even more than Xenoblade X that required additional downloads to actually run the damn thing, also most AAA stopped giving quality games a long time since they started focusing on graphics only demanding power that wasn't ever needed
@@devilbringer1102 must have just been me going from footage of PS5 at 60 FPS then. Rewatching this and watching a different video, it appears to be close to 30 FPS locked with only a few minor ( seriously minor ) frame-time issues during hectic battles with lots of effects. So the same issues nearly ALL games on ALL platforms see. My bad. Good call out 👍🏻

I've seen a number of reviews of this and all of them seem really lacking. Like is Melee just the best or is there an absolute lack of ranged options to make it your main attack? All the combat feels slow and clunky more in line with something you might see out of MechAssault style of game and not something I want to see from a Gundam game. Whats worse is every example I can think of to point to for what I think a good Gundam game should be like are not even actually gundam games like Armored Core or MechaBreak. This just seems like another lack luster game play that panders to the gunpla build community by leaning more into customization then having fluid game play with real ranged options.
