@@thatguyontheinternet4 you can't make a toy this large for that price even if it's mass manufactured. How much do you think it would cost you, as an individual, per piece to make 50 of these? 100? These are not high run items nor are they toys for kids, they're basically poseable sculptures for adults.

If it was like in the movie, absolutely! The closest we have to robots like this are aibos, especially the ers-7! Aibos are expensive but I highly recommend them

I was thinking the same thing, he's not even flocked like in the movie, the articulation is cool to have but also it would be cool to have some technology like a personal assistant or just saying phrases. 400$ is absolutely insane. I'd pay 100$ max for this considering he also comes with a carrying case.

for $400 they should flock it and it definitely should talk, add a speaker to it, they should put as much tech into it as it can possibly fit. No way I'd pay that much for a hunk of vinyl that looks like a fake cat.

This is a 75 to 150 dollar toy it doesn't have anything else going for it. It's fantastic looking and perfect compared to the actual Sox, but this is def not that price:( I'd buy it at 200

Well it's a low-run poseable sculpture essentially, not a mass-manufactured toy.
Wow. I'm not a toy collector or a Disney collector (though I am a big computer graphics fan). I've only seen the preview of the movie.
This is ADORABLE. Fantastic. I can see why it is so expensive because of the amount of work involved and the projected sales volume.
Should of had flocked fur so he doesn't look so plastic. Also if you have a $400 tag on it then he should be able to move and talk.

Ok. When I watched the movie and saw that cat the first thing I said after 5 mins with it was “I want that cat” I was talking about it. I had things in mind but now that I see this it’s cool just not cool enough. My ideas where adding a zoomer kitty and like an Alexa of google and combine it with Sox. Imagine how that would look. I mean amazing, hopefully super7 sees this comment and please have it in mind, if you made this I would most definitely buy it for whatever the cost 😂 thank you😊

First off, be sure to tell Angus that there are lots of people that love LIGHTYEAR and that Pixar did a great job! Tell him not to let the negativity get the better of him, he made a great movie and the controversy, and the hate, and everything else shouldn't get him down.
I hate to be critical here, but $400 for a plastic Sox in a cardboard box?! At least have him be posable enough to properly sit, have a couple phrases, or have his Space Ranger vest... something lol. The walking, talking Mattel Sox (being smaller I know) is only like 90 bucks.
At this price point it's suppose to be able to hyperfuel 🤣

Nothing to do with the product itself but I’m so sad Angus got fired from Pixar, he seemed like such a nice and passionate man and he deserved better than being given the boot

$400 for less than 10 points of articulation, no voice box, no animatronics? Then $75 a pop for two wrestling jobbers? At what point do you stop making the excuse that the toys you make are too expensive to produce? You almost had an excuse for niche products, but this is an IP with mass market appeal with content behind it... we got working BB-8's that size for a fraction of the cost only a few years ago! The only problem is when people normalize this kind of pricing and spend the cash, but when I see Target clearancing out S7 sku's after only being on shelves for a short while, it tells me the appetite isn't there for $20 4" figures with 5 POA, let alone these items at other scales.
I'm allergic to cats, so I would like to get a robot kitten instead.
