    Wow. I didn’t know that Miki lost her father at a young age. It’s remarkable that this tragedy didn’t make any negative impact on her skating and her career. What an amazing inner strength Miki seem to possess. I admire Miki for her positive attitude and for her love of figure skating.

    About Miki Ando, she had injuries and I don't believe it was the posture that contributed to it. Rather it was poor coaching techniques. Miki's such a talented skater. Her previous coaches were quite inexperienced. Also they didn't try to fix Miki's problem, but let it get worse. If she got a more experienced coach, then she wouldn't have these problems. Also I don't think that Miki's previous coaches paid any attention to Miki's injuries.

    Although I preferred Tara to Michelle during their rivalry, Tara has become an excellent commentator and gives much better interviews than Michelle. Michelle tends to be stiff when commentating and during interviews gives such boring and diplomatic answers such as "I just wanted to go out there and have fun."

    Must commend Miki , even if YuNa is an overall better skater. Miki used to have HORRIBLE posture and little artistry. I used to not enjoy watching Miki's skating - I only wanted to see what jumps she landed. But it's clear that she has worked on posture, artistry, etc., over the years. She would not have been able to win Worlds against a pretty skater like YuNa without stepping up her game in this regard.

    I think miki was not the one who deserve the gold for that competition. Suceeding Jumps? That's important I agree with that. But before that, 'how' does the technical elements get performed is the priority when they are judging. I don't think her technical side is not that well. She could do that jumps, But that's not champion's. And her skating flow, speed ,using edge skill, spins are just a little bit weak. This is just my opinion, no offense. Miki ando is such a good skater, but her skills' not that great to be a world's champion.

    • @cibone5857
      @cibone5857 3 года назад +11

      Are you sure? Miki's technique is amazing. Spins improved very much compared to the year before.
      And then who would win? Obviously Yuna is not the winner. She made many mistakes in jumps and her level of spins and step sequence are not enough. Miki is the winner.

    I'm not bias but after watching both their programs, I think Yuna Kim should've won this competition. both made mistake but difference is Yuna had more difficult jumps put into her program. but this might be Miki Ando best chance to beat Yuna who clearly wasn't at her best. and considering the tragic events in Japan, they deserve some good fortune. now they can also add the women's World Cup title to that fortune. feel bad for our women team USA though.

      @@song-filmshe didn't need transitions when doing those jumps in the second half when she would already be getting extra points. Miki had interesting spin positions here will the unique sit spin and pancake which she held for extra rotations compared to her competitors. And you can't forget her ending camel/illusion with the hands behind the back which is incredibly difficult and is done beautifully.

    She would not have been able to win if this hadn't been the weakest field for a Ladies event at Worlds since the late 80's or if Yuna was in competition shape and had been skating competitively all year. Not even a great skater like Yuna can just show up at Worlds and win after not having skated in a competition in over a year.
