You should instead take a permanent digital signature of a blocked profile’s IP address (and the IP address of whoever has blocked them), so that when you block someone they remain permanently invisible, even after they come back (which they typically always do days/ weeks later) with the hope you have forgotten them in their mistaken belief you have and they can therefore act like it’s the first time.

Don't lie about the block button every time I block people I'm not interested in, the next time I log on they are back again Grindr seems to deliberately unblock!!! Loads of us are fed up with it

IP addresses are dynamic, so this wouldn't work. It would be a much better idea to use the IMEI of the phone or MAC address of the tablet.

False, you cannot block them. There is a limit for how many people that you can block. After that limit, they just pop back up again.
