The fact they kicked the Unreal Engine, also with VR in mind, is such a great decision. I was very happy to see ACE is using MSAA instead of the terrible TAA anti aliasing method. Expecting something very big with Evo for the coming years. Finally a Sim with a single player mode.
The organic and natural feel of the rendering is what really sells Evo for me. And yes, when the sun is in front of you when racing, it is completely blinding. So yeah, very well done there
Good video as always! If I could just make a suggestion, it'd be good if when you're doing the comparisons, you could put a little logo/acronym of each game on the corner of the footage, so we know for sure which game corresponds to which footage. It's a detail that I think adds a lot, looks really professional! :D
1:38 hopefully we can turn down that volumetric light. im not a fan of over the top pretty visuals making everything seem lower resolution and blurry. i like a sharp image.
Thank you for making a comparison that doesn't involve drenching the road in water to show off reflections. Most of "assetto corsa amazing graphics" videos do that even though in a real gameplay scenario you're more often than not gonna be running in daylight and dry weather.
what stands out the most for me besides the trees, are the lighting and reflection improvements. if they can eliminate the pop-ins and increase reflection framerate in ACE, it'll be almost perfect.
i think for most people the settings are gonna turn the game into a Live for speed lookalike anyway considering how expensive pcs have gotten the past 7 years. i am mostly interested in the physics of the game engine and how much playtime i can expect just by driving different cars and tracks like an absolute maniac. thats the true beauty of regular old AC for me, i think my first 100 hours was 90%just throwing different cars around the nordschleife with a ps3 controller that was shorting out and a friend or two driving with me. it made me save up for a wheel and mod support extended the game's lifespan so much its going to have a to take a better deal of a game and probably more than another decade to justify saying that game is "dead"
4:10 looks good at night. there is clearly too much motion blur enabled though. its weird how developers think previewing a game with all settings cranked up is the best way. most pc gamers dont like motion blur, dof, chromatic abberation, bloom, film grain, taa, too much volumetric lighting etc etc.
Honestly, this comparison really shows how much of a creative choice difference there is between ACC and ACE. It's almost like it's taking a shot at Forza and Gran Turismo in terms of visuals. It looks much more cinematic and I really like it. With proper settings it can definitely be toned down to improve visibility for racing, whilst still looking really good and modern. I'm very interested to see what will happen once the game comes out and we can draw even more comparisons. So far so good!
I love the jump off the shelf experience will have. As much as i love AC, sometimes i got obsessed finetuning mods and graphics so much whenever i go back to it that i have to set a couple of days apart to catch up. PD: I need tire sidewall to flex, miss LFS so much.
For me, I really hope ACE is optimized well for VR as I want to make the move to fully going VR, I really enjoy VR with AM2 and AC but obviously not ACC, which really sux as I love the way ACC drives and really enjoy racing the A.I after the first corner silliness, I have high hopes for ACE dont let me down Kunos, oh yeah and good Simhub support please Kunos
I’m very excited for the AC Eh-Voh 😅 one of the things I noticed from the gameplay is the excessive/exaggerated pit crew shadows, I hope the final game this would get fixed.🤞🏼
For sim racing, framerate is the most important thing. 120fps is the bare minimum. If it is janky and not buttery smooth, it's not a sim. A sim is to recreate the real world and the feel controlling a race car, and the real world doesn't work by stuttering and pausing.
6:00 personally, as a vr only user, i like the 2d trees. unless you really look at them they look pretty realistic, with next to zero performance cost. and when driving lets be honest, you are looking at the apex, the car ahead, your tachometer, your braking marers etc. you are not admiring the trees. so while its nice to see acevo having better trees. i think all games should have an option to set trees to 'low' and just use 2d alpha images for trees. rbrrsf for example looks photo realistic at times, and it suses the same outdated techniques. modern games go for 'pretty' over 'realism' far too often. ea wrc looks very very unrealistic in comparison to rbr for example.
I haven't tried DSR, but even with everything on EPIC, after playing with RR or AC, ACCstill looks terrible in comparison, fuzzy and lack of detail. UE it's such a limiting factor, the same problem happens on EA WRC, but in this case is even worse.
ACE has too much bloom and glare for me. If I was driving in those conditions I would wear sunglasses or have a polarised visor on the helmet. I hope they include some graphic adjustments for those of us that like to see clearly rather than just fancy lighting effects.
3:37 that looks horrible to me. bloom everywhere, volumetric lighting so thick it looks like heavy fog. you cant see shit. that is fine if its only for a certain time of day where it sort of looks like this irl, while driving towards the sun. but it still looks overdone to me. this isnt gran turismo. they should be going for realism and clear, sharp visuals over pretty graphics. if its adjustable though, then i have no issues with it. the fact its not using unreal engine, its an in house engine, its using forward rendering and msaa etc is very very promising.
I don't know if I like the colours in GT7/EVO. It's like the saturation is way too high make it more colourful than real life just to make some kind of impression - just like OLED TV's compared to LED TV's. Even in ACC I set the colours to 90% to make it more real to life (my opinion only)
I really don't think so. The engine is quite old and the physics in some situation isn't great. Unless you go with paid premium mods such as VRC and RSS and few others. I've tried RR and the suspensions and weight transfer FFB/feeling blown me away. I drive since 25 years and I've been on track few times. Plus, the game isn't even released yet 😀
@ Infact bro me I’m a modder I have a friend which knows how to do real physics which every car. The engine can be knew but when you using mods and reshaand doing a strong configuration the results it’s just perfect. Just trees are missing in AC for few tracks the rest we have already all AC EVO contents in AC
I honestly question the state of certain gamers minds. If you are NOT playing at 4k with everything maxed. With max refresh rate 120 minimum. Then why do so many of you go on about graphical fidelity. Post processing and actually rendering will only be as good as your equipment can portray it at max level Most of you guys talk as if you all play on maxed out rigs and are now getting bored of graphics somehow. Or seem to think driving games need to get better looking for some strange reason. When right now 4k is the highest most people can reach 😂 Comparing trailers when we all know it's the graphics settings we can tweek that really proves what your machine can handle Right now i can tweek the settings to have the sunlight blinding with loads of BLOOM at sunset or midday 🙄 I don't get why so many are dishonest about what can be done with AC modded right now 🙄 Assetto Corsa devs want more money now because they've seen what the mod community can do. Most of them being paid for their work. Evo will just be another driving game. Not hitting the mark AC has YEARS after it's launch So many gamers seem like they have amnesia when it comes to new games. The odds of them being able to better the CONTENT of AC is ridiculous. Because it never will. The mod community proved that it takes years of updates and implementations to get a base game to epic levels. Not one fresh out the box 🙄

ACE a sub to the channel

200% agreed! It looks so sharp compared to ACC
TAA in itself is not bad, its the way the devs implement it
The organic and natural feel of the rendering is what really sells Evo for me.

Finally a good comparison video. I couldn't believe comments saying EVO is the same as AC modded.. not even close!

Same here , it does soften it all up too much for my liking as well.
dont worry it will be a setting which you can set to low or high as you like. just like every other game

Its really sick how good ACE looks, but we also have to keep in mind this is still pre alpha gameplay, so things can change.
Well yes. It will only get better. The build they showed still had many effects missing.

To look good. This sells the idea of "evoluzione".
that’s the point of a showcase 🤦 or have you seen a trailer with lowest settings set?
I’m on PS5, but I honestly can’t wait for this game to come out. I plan to use some vacation time when it releases.

I'd like next level physics first.
A major reason they switched game engines is because of physics

If you run ACC on 1440p superwide, with nvidia DSR and ingame DLSS, it still looks amazing.

ACC looks messy blurry in the distance compared to all my other sims. Even Iracing is sharper in the distance....
Original AC can look alot better than that
I understand what youre saying but it cant even get close to acevo
ACE trees still dont look good enough imo. Hopefully they inprpve them by the time the game releases.

Is that all you have noticed from the video?
Evo looks the best between all 3, and it could also been the most groundbreaking yet as well
