@@bertoo0782 if the ship exchange is $0 it works, if you go above at any point or more it breaks the chain and won't work anymore for that ship. Just did this and made 20mill in 5mins.
@Higher Consciousness Not sure. I haven't played in a while. You can try it and see, just make sure you do a manual save before trading your good ship. That way you can roll back if it doesn't work anymore.
I just started playing about a month ago and found this glitch by myself. I also found that you can copy the broken ship also. After I got rich I stopped doing the glitch. I never tried after the update so I hope it works. Im gonna start a new game and see.
You do not have to repair ANY crashed ship modules. Claim the ship and next time you find yourself in the freighter, it'll show up there. Build a teleporter in your freighter. Before you teleport to a space station, make sure the broken ship is your active primary ship. When you teleport to the space station, the broken ship will be there. Now, you can scrap or trade the ship without repairing any modules. May not help this glitch, but it's still helpful to know.
The best part is that for some reason after scrapping a ship it always picks the broken ones first, you can collect multiple ships and sell them at once.
So, I’ve been testing this and if you want to make your crashed ship worth more, you can fix only the storage slots and technology slots to boost the worth. This does not affect the glitch at all. I found a crashed hauler and fixed it up to 90% and instead of trading for ships worth 10.4M, I can now purchase ships worth 22.75M. Totally worth it and thanks for all the videos Jason.
Did the same. You can upgrade it if it is a ship.you want to keep to increase value as well. You can leave the station and go save, as long as you stay IN SYSTEM and do not reload you are good. I went to.my freighter to get stuff to fix it. Worked every time.
So as of a couple days ago (March 29th 2021) this glitch has changed a little bit. The Glitch in original form gave you the scrap value of your ship (in units) up front in addition to the scrap components that you could then turn around and sell for even more units. What has changed now is that you do NOT get units when scrapping, you just get the components. HOWEVER, the market value of the scrapped components has majorly changed. It is now on a sliding scale that changes according to the scrap value of the ship. So for example, if you look at a component called "compressed indium scraps", you will see different amounts of value (according to the scrap value of the ship) when you sell the component in the exchange. If you sell all the pieces you scrapped you will have roughly the same amount of units that you used to get "up front". So you don't get quite the same number of units you used to and you have to manage your units a little more carefully when purchasing (if you aren't a billionaire by now). This also forces you to not hold on to components and elements you receive just to keep them for later. So it's a little harder, but still makes money once you get the ball rolling.
GamingExec yep, still works! Also, I think he said it in the video, but if you go to r/NMSCoordinateExchange you can find some really nice freighters that are worth 30mil+
@@charlesbutler5574 I realised what my fuck up was when it didn't work. I fixed more than just the launch thruster and pulse drive. Okay, good to know.
Love your videos! Actually you can exchange it for a higher priced ship any difference you pay reduces your profit. I recently found a crashed S-class shuttle with a price of 6.6 mil units and a scrap value of 3.5... fixed most of the broken parts (never fix everything) and augmented the storage, bringing it's price to 92 mil and scrap value to 61,5 mil, then kept trading it for anything from 3 mil fighters to 80 mil haulers. Within about 3-4 hours I made ~900 mil units, 12k nanites and 26 augmentations. You want to do this in a high economy system, otherwise you will be waiting forever for ships to come in. If you need units, go for the higher priced ships (close to your ships value) If you need nanites, go for fighters because they usually have 3-5 upgrades compared to only 1 or 2 in shuttles and others. Have fun scrapping!
It still works! Just did it again last night. A few additional pointers. 1) You "can" trade the ship for a ship of any value, it does not have to be less, you just have to pay the difference but will often get enough money for the ship to offset that cost and still make a profit. I do it all the time. 2) You can increase the crashed ship's trade value by fixing things in the storage area (not the tech area). It is not enough to be worth it for a single trade, but over the course of a dozen or even a few dozen trades it can become substantially increase your profit margin on each trade. If Jason had fixed the broken items on the ship it would have been worth around 8 million trade value instead of 3.2 million. 3) Before you scrap the ship, open the storage and scrap any installed upgrades (usually 1-3 upgrades). These will yield their base components and you can get things like anti-matter, wiring, and other goodies, just transfer them to your storage after you scrap them but before scrapping the ship. 4) When your hold gets full, go trade in your upgrade modules (and collect the nanites) which will free up slots so you can continue. If you are getting very full you can sell the scrap ship parts in your pack and cargo. 5) Remember do not reload the game or leave the system. Once you do that the magic spell is broken and your crashed ship turns into a pumpkin.
It says 'ship unoccupied- locate pilot to begin trade', when I try to reclaim my half-broken/abandoned ship after scrapping the exchanged one. What am I doing wrong here?
@@LymarkW Hard to say. Did you reload the game at any time? That is usually the reason. I have done it myself a few times without really thinking. The other likely culprit is leaving the system. Maybe teleporting, I have never tried doing that and seeing if I can still use the glitch. My guess is no. The key is to repair enough of the ship to fly to the station. Go there directly and do not reload. Once you land you can start trading and scrapping. Hope that helps.
Did this today and it definitely works on xbox. EDIT: A couple pointers: I could fix all but one thing in the ship, making it more valuable and this allowing me to get better ships at 0 trade. If all you want is mining nanites, you can buy A and S class ships with units, it doesn't break the glitch You can save your progress in the space station by going in the "crashed ship", in case you're grinding the glitch for long periods of time and you're afraid of disconnection or crash.
Jason, if this is a prank, I will come to your galaxy and give your living ship covid, that being said, you just earned yourself a sub. Great, great job!
Still works up to this point. You can do it regardless if the ship is destroyed or not. One tip is after the exchange you talk back to claim your ship again.
Still working as of July 14th! Thanks for that, man! Also, you can even put stuff from your inventory to your starship, to the glitched one too. You can 100% fix it too.
I just did this with a A class cheap ship (4.6 mil) in a wealthy system. Mainly because I just wanted to try it. Here's what happened: After 12 or 15 exchanges my profit from scrapping and selling was 12,506,942 units and 5050 nanites and 2 storage upgrades. I spent maybe an hour doing it. I did exactly what Jason said to do and it worked as intended. Best piece of advice would be to get the best ship you can find and just follow the directions. Thanks Jason!
I just have to comment and say thanks for this top. I have made so much money this way. On a attempt to give a tip back, if you find a downed ship you want to keep but not repair, have a friend claim it and take it to space station. He then trades it to an NPC, you go to NPC that will appear next to ship you want and ask to buy ship. You can then buy it from NPC for free and it all repaired. Got an S class 48 slot Hauler like this.
Thx Jason! Tried this yesterday, 05/17/20, and worked like a charm, so has not been patched on PS4. Only thing I did different than your video was I didn't make a manual save. But auto-saving using the abandoned ship had no effect on using the glitch. Cool thing is if you get a subatomic regulator from scraping a ship you can sell it for 2 mil!!
Thanks for the video on this, helped get me a good ship. After messing with it a little I changed up the process and now have some storage augmentations, mods, nanites and money. I found a crashed hauler that is worth 12million but scraps for 4. I fixed it up, didn't cost much, less than a million and now I can scrap that ship for 10 million. I wait for 20-40 million haulers to come in and swap ships then scrap the swapped ship. I get s class mods, storage upgrades and millions in parts to sell. This by far is a quicker way to earn money than only buying a ship equal or less than the fixer upper. Be careful doing this because after awhile you fill up on stuff you want to keep and end up going to your other parked ship that appears when you scrap a ship, to put items in it. But now that is your active ship and if you swap ships you'll lose that one instead of the fixer upper. Did this a couple times moving too fast.
I’m guessing it only works on crashed ships that still have launch thrusters working.. so you don’t have to repair it.. like yours is.. I tried 4x the ship says abandoned but I can’t reclaim it as of today (XBOX) Also.. my other ship doesn’t show up at the station either...
Thanks for this Jason I can verify that this is still working although I did find I could still make a load of units on more expensive ships eg. Crashed ship was 11.5m scrap value, I traded a ship worth 15m paid 4.5m then scraped for around 10.5m making 6m and getting better components to sell. cheers
Thanks for the tip! Since it seemed to work as of 5mo ago, our Host tried this in multi yesterday. It didn't work; the scrapped ship disappeared. I still need to test it solo. What we DID discover though was the ships he bought & scrapped directly in the bay didn't disappear, and instead ended up claimed by me (the only other player in the group). If I got in that ship, I couldn't claim it in any way; by flying it to my freighter, or ground & summoning another ship, etc. BUT it turned out the game thought *that* ship was whatever one I'd most recently exited. So what was a nearly fully-upgraded A-Class Explorer (~$16m) gained the body AND salvage value of a previously S-class Exotic (~$44m)! It retained the old name, upgrades, class, and seemingly the stats (the card shows Exotic stats but it still feels really sluggish despite 3x maneuverability). It's like 2 ships had the same entry in the game logs, confirmed because scrapping the "ghost" Exotic gave me $44m in scrap but caused *both* it and my legit Explorer to disappear. I had to re-load my save :) The other odd bit was when I flew the "ghost" ship down & summoned a ship I'd bought in the same station, the *latter* ship stayed on the pad in the station & showed as claimed by my friend! We assumed it would do the same weird body-double thing so we left it alone.
This still works after the mech update. It is a little weird though, the first time I tried it didn't work but the second time it did. If it isn't working for you just try another star system
@@masteryoda8887 im doing it now and im able to get the stuff from scrapping each ship but im not getting the units. Are you getting them or am i doing something wrong?
@@gabmax1013 when it worked for you did you only repair the pulse engine because when i tryied the ship needed the launch engines fixed and it didnt work
Great vid. Still works. Just a note: If you don't have an S-Class or A-Class ship, but you have some money in your pocket (at least 10million units) this actually still works for purchasing more expensive ships. While you don't net as much on the free ships, you often get their higher class modules to then save for the ship you're keeping. Eg: I bought a ship for 700k junked it for 1million. Net 300k, but I also got an A Class module that I didn't have previously on my normal ship. Food for thought.
Hey so I have found that the distress signal maps never give me crashed ships you can salvage, only ships where the pilot is hanging around and takes off in the ship after you help him. Finding transmission towers using the ‘find settlement’ map or whatever it’s called seems to work better for me. Thanks a bunch for this video!
In the worse case scenario, just land at the unwanted spots to clear the beacon. It’s a pain, but still quicker than running through the pilot mission for little reward.
What is create an auto save right before I search for the signal, and then I hover over the crash sight when I arrive. If someone is walking around I just reload my previous save, but if it’s an abandoned ship I land and take it
I just got this game yesterday. This is totally gonna boost me into the big leagues! HAHAHA! I was trying to find out how to use Coordinates Exchange, then I find out you need to have gotten to the portal (which I have not). I then opted to try finding ships from the distress signal maps sold by cartographers. I found one but it was worth only $400,000 damaged. I scrapped it and came to the realization that this glitch was too far ahead of where I was at in the game. Then about 5 minutes later, I was flying to a observatory from another cartography map, scanned and found an "abandoned building" 400u away. Flew to it and it was a crashed ship! The first I have ever found by just exploring alone. Not just any ship, no this was a Class C worth 14.5 million undamaged with an almost full inventory. I didn't even know such a god tier C Class ship could even exist. I took it to the station and found out it's worth 4 million damaged and was able to trade it for anything that landed. Thank you for sharing this glitch! I made a manual save before I got in the ship and plan to do this for as long as I can stand tomorrow. I am used to playing Elite Dangerous, so I am used to monotonous grinding.
Yup, I messed it up. I think by doing the manual save after I claimed it. Oh well. I at least found a better ship than the one you start with so I'm going to keep it and then keep looking for other crash sites.
@@DanBeLiving yes just fly directly to the space station and perform the trades as instructed in the video. My initial comment is regarding warping ruining the glitch.
Thanks Jason! I tried this in july 2020 and it works. After no ship spawned i went out of the station and it made em come back. Also I went to my frigate and back....bit buggy but it worked. good luck all
So I was off This pass Tuesday night, found a ship and used this glitch. I started with just over 200k and in 3 hours of doing this over and over I had 75 million. Thanks for the tip man.
@Nogger Fogger logger 69 maybe they're not doing it right. I did it yesterday about 20 times. I saw one person say that it doesn't work because they only got scrap instead of units, so I guess they didn't realise that's what's supposed to happen.
For everyone who says it does not work i say you don't know what your talking about. I did it last night for an hour and did it exactly like he said in the video, make a manual save i can't stress that enough because i ran into a glitch where it says it was still abandoned but wouldn't let me in saying go talk to pilot. Reloaded it found another ship and it worked but like he said once again you have to exchange it so its free. But thanks to him for a good video.
I really like that even tho you cover some advanced topics, when you do something very simple you still explain it in detail, as a beginner thats very helpful thanks
I just found a slight variation to the scrap glitch. Once you claimed any ship that needs repairs. You can fix the pulse engine. Then take your most expensive ship to a space station. Then do the same thing of exchanging ships but with your most expensive ship instead of the new faulty one. After you scrapped a new ship for say 10.000.000. Then you re claim your expensive ship back for free. You don't even need to rove items from the inventory. The funny thing about the glitch is your new faulty ship you claimed turns up at the station, and that what you are exchanging.
Weird, seems not working for me. After exchanging the ship the old one is still there and showed as abandoned but it asked me to locate a pilot to begin exchange in order to claim it again...
Still works 7/27! Pro tip: When you want to leave and go do something else, scrap a ship you exchanged the abandoned one for (so that you do NOT have ownership of the abandoned ship) then go in and out of your other preowned ship that should be in the space station as well (creating an autosave with you never having owned the abandoned one). You should now be able to leave the system with your pre-existing ship essentially resetting the abandoned one with the benefit of being able to come back to said same system and find that same abandoned ship again to do the glitch at your leisure. - Do NOT get back in abandoned ship after scrapping an exchanged ship. - Can fly back to distress site of ship with preowned ship to double check (abandoned ship should be at originally found location while another "fake" copy left behind at the space station) -Do not attempt to take said "fake copy" (could mess it up)
You can just scrap the abandoned ship when you're done and it will respawn back at the crash site after a while. I'm not sure the exact timing, I've seen it respawn within an hour, and it's usually but not always there the next day. (My starter base is built next to a crash site)
My question is. When you're in the space station, and you're looking for a ship to trade in, won't the ship's stop spawning after a while? I've always noticed that after a certain amount of time, ship's stop coming in to the station? Or am I mistaken.
I gathered that either you traded for a higher value accidentally or made a save that broke the glitch. Glitch was working for me, but I teleported to a better system then got the occupied message
@@TheAussieBrickMan Ok so, I've watched the video but can you help me? What do you mean by "you made a save" how can I avoid doing that? - I traded always by ships with lower price, always the Exchange (0 units)
This works 💯 appreciate the gem, just started playing 3 days ago... i stack the ships and swap out ships frome my crappy garage lol... but I just leave the abandoned ship and and claim it then swap 2 or 3 ships at 0 trade units then from there i leave my new ships, scrap a ship then claim the abandoned ship again ect...
You can use this glitch to copy ships(copied ships dont carry over inventory). Before completing the strangers beacon repair in the first couple missions, when you get to the Zaifus, do your ship scrapping glitch a few times to make enough to buy(not swap) a new ship. Reclaim the Zaifus at the station. You should have your what you called "permanent" ship there now. Buy a new ship(not swap) and fly that back to the beacon. There should be another Zaifus waiting along with your original ship. Repair it enough for the glitch and fly back to the station. Rename that zaifus now there should be 2 zaifus and the "permanent" at the station. Scrap the unnamed zaifus and the "permanent". The ship that appears will be a copy of the original that you parked at the beacon. I found this out when ships stopped parking at the station after I had 3 parked there. Cheers :p
Love the video, and I do this all the time now thanks to you. A couple of quick observations though: (1) you can upgrade everything but the shields and it still works (with more profit) and (2) you can trade it for any price ship (i.e. more expensive than the salvage ship) and the glitch still works. I always put some junk into the inventory, but I don't know if this matters.
They havent just dont reload dont get out of the system where u got the crash ship just trade and scrap i did a mistake one time i traded then claimed then traded and try to claim again and it didt let me
Great vids, Jason!! I have tried this a few times in the past two weeks. The first 2 times I had little money, not much experience and felt totally clueless. The ships were not worth a whole lot, about 5 mil each new, trade value much lower because of the damage. But I made some decent early game noob money (about 50 mill each time). Which was perfect because each time I ended the trading because I came across S-class ships I had to have! The first was a large Blue fighter, S-class, with inventory of 38-12. The next day I made another 50 mil and then found a S-class Hauler with inventory of 46 (I think, have not actually used it yet, just sitting in my Freighter). A few days later I came across a large S-class Explorer slots of 38-12 and then a small exotic (squid) S-type with 16 slots that I bought because it looked cool. Buying these ships used much of the money I made but I still came out ahead. Plus the nanites. Plus some ship materials I did not have much access too. A few things I learned along the way: 1. The ships usually have a S or B module installed and I found I can dismantle that for its resources before selling the ship and it does not affect the sell value. 2. Repair as much as you can. It will cost a bit and requires a lot of resources but it increases the trade value of your ship and allows you to trade for more valuable ships. However only repair damage in the storage area, not the technology. Repairing tech slots does not appear to increase the ship value. a. Once I found a ship worth 3.2 mil but its trade value was 1.7 mil. By repairing it I got the trade value up to 2.8 mil. That really allowed me to trade for many more ship than 1.7 mil! 3. If you need materials for repair that are not available in the station, ask the pilots of the visiting ships! They sometime have what you need. 4. Keep your main ship stocked with materials. After your first ship is scrapped, your personal craft should appear. You can raid your ship for materials to fix your flipper. 5. Do not load your game. Once you do that the flipper ship will still read as abandoned when you come back but will tell you to find the pilot. You cannot claim it again.
Update: this glitch is so awesome! I found a planet in a wealthy system with 3 crashed haulers on it, worth 40 million, 40 million and 32 million units! I placed beacons by them and they have been re-spawning. Once the broken parts are repaired in cargo they are worth 28 million and 23 million to trade! The station has a steady stream of ships since it is a wealthy system. Though most of the ships are 17.5 mil or less or 40 million or more. Still a steady stream of valuable ships. I can make a few hundred million units in a couple of hours. Plus lots of nanites from selling all the mods. I even get the occasional alien ship that I resell (since I already have one maxed out using augments I get from selling all the scrapped ships!).
Literally saw your video about the dupe glitch on the anomaly yesterday went from 20million to 1billion in two hours with quantum processors. Great videos man keep up the good finds.
Jason Plays hey man I actually don’t know if you already know this glitch as I just found it but if your doing the dupe glitch on the Space anomaly as soon as you get out of your ship and take out the item from the personal refiner if you run over to the place where you can buy exo suit upgrades from do that first then trade the item and reloading resets the upgrade and you can buy again and again as your dupeing but it has to be from a system where you haven’t bought the upgrade yet off the anomaly
8:40 Damn, that is such a beautiful ship! I still just cannot believe the total Jekyll and Hyde transformation this game underwent from it's release date in 2016. It's so sad games that are potentially AAA only get to be seen as that 3-4 years down the line because the 1st (release) 1.0 version was so trash and janky (and in this case, just straight up incomplete)!
This makes me a little excited still, the fact that people can have the most unique player experience. Putting in coordinates, or finding your own path amidst the stars. I always slept on this game but damn it’s so good now!!
same. ive been looking for this ship for 700 hours now. its insane how i haven't found it yet. ive got one similar. one with the fins and no side engines.
Great Glitch man, I'm still sing the Multi tool glitch, and with all the upgrades I've added I'm up to about 200k per breakdown, thanks for the heads up on this stuff, you're the best!, Gonna try this one when i get home in the morning, thanks again.
tip for everyone that wants to do this and find ships in trading stations normally: the length of the hallway you go through matters, the shorter the hallway the more often merchants will land.
hi cannot remember who posted this but it works living ship upgrades get 2 every time you do this takes 2 mins go to bird bird hexagon whale sunrise spiral sunrise sunrise bird sunrise sunrise moon then go to the space station get out reload auto save get back in set off then pulse drive any direction for about 30 secs and there it is when you get it set off back pulse drive and get another on way back to station then get out reload auto save and do it again if you get other things trying to call you ignore them and will be about another 30 to 45 secs after that but works perfectly every time just remember reload auto save each time in station hope this helps
Jason Plays thank you, yes we are making the best of it. Got Journey to the savage planet. Such a fun game! Love it. Walmart’s website has it $10 cheaper than anyone else! Didn’t even have to leave home. Haha
Just go to the trade terminal and sell all (like 100 or more) wirelooms, when you do that the price on them drops to as much as -85%. then buy as many as you can from ships, then buy all the rest from the trade terminal. go to another system and do it again. at first you have to get a large stash of them which you may have to pay full price for. I'm currently doing the wireing looms, and filling out my inventory slots. Get the backpack spot at the station, and don't forget the backpack slot at the anomoly in every system.
Few things bout it :P 1) If You repair broken slots, yes overall price of ship dont change, but trade in value gets higher (tested). 2) You can use nanites to rise trade in ships class (rises its price). Both cases You get materials/nanites/money back easy at swapping ships. Also paying up to 5-6 mil when swapping is ok, easily makes money back change for ship inventory upgrade worth it, especially if those cost 50mil+ for Your ship :P). Also scrap all tech ships have before You melt theme, gets You some extra wire looms, antimatter etc
Apr 1, 2020 ...hum If real you are only trading down, which means less chance of storage augmentations and lower modules, less nanites. yes its free money, but we all have lots of that :)
Looks like a really good way to get nanites more then units. I personally feel like an indi farm is the way to go or the cobalt resell and buy back are the way to go with units. Great video as always, gonna have to try it out 👍🏻
Am I the only one that actually likes to make money legit in this game? I actually like to find real trade routes and such to make good money, it makes the game more interesting and fun when you have something to work towards versus having all the money you would ever need immediately and never having to work for anything.
This is really interesting. I’ve been making money by buying and selling the green percentages and it’s a lot quicker and easier and not a glitch. But, the potential nanites and upgrades are appealing. Good vid glad you made it. I’m too lazy to glitch though. I should point out that I’m extremely new to this game. Always looked fun, bought it in Xbox sale, wish I’d bought it sooner
@Jason Plays so after you're done with the glitch do i need to do anything special when leaving space station? and should i keep the ship in the space station unclaimed after i am finished? or do i just leave the ship there unclaimed and take my ship and go my merry way?

I found a crashed hauler and fixed it up to 90% and instead of trading for ships worth 10.4M, I can now purchase ships worth 22.75M. Totally worth it and thanks for all the videos Jason.
Still working?
Yup it's still working
@@DeviousNekomata thank you
Did the same. You can upgrade it if it is a ship.you want to keep to increase value as well. You can leave the station and go save, as long as you stay IN SYSTEM and do not reload you are good. I went to.my freighter to get stuff to fix it. Worked every time.
is not giving me the credits, just some materials and stuff.. :(
So as of a couple days ago (March 29th 2021) this glitch has changed a little bit.
Kind of surprised this video doesn’t have more views, just did this for about an hour and got over 150,000,000 units and 11,000 nanites. Thank you!!
about to try it - glad to see a comment from recently to know it still works!
GamingExec hope it went well for you, I’m not sure if it still works post cross play update, but going to confirm that now!
Charles Butler yeah havent found a crashed ship worth enough yet, so please let me know!
If you need units, go for the higher priced ships (close to your ships value)
If you need nanites, go for fighters because they usually have 3-5 upgrades compared to only 1 or 2 in shuttles and others.
I figured out, I warped to another system without knowing it! ;)
@@LymarkW Glad you figured it out. Now enjoy scrapping!
Did this today and it definitely works on xbox.
EDIT:
A couple pointers:
I could fix all but one thing in the ship, making it more valuable and this allowing me to get better ships at 0 trade.
If all you want is mining nanites, you can buy A and S class ships with units, it doesn't break the glitch
You can save your progress in the space station by going in the "crashed ship", in case you're grinding the glitch for long periods of time and you're afraid of disconnection or crash.
Thanks bud was reading comments to see if it worked 🙏🏻

You don't sell that ship, you trade it so it doesn't matter if it's fixed or not.
Still works up to this point. You can do it regardless if the ship is destroyed or not. One tip is after the exchange you talk back to claim your ship again.

Do you need more than one ship because i only have one
I just did this with a A class cheap ship (4.6 mil) in a wealthy system. Mainly because I just wanted to try it. Here's what happened:
After 12 or 15 exchanges my profit from scrapping and selling was 12,506,942 units and 5050 nanites and 2 storage upgrades. I spent maybe an hour doing it.
I did exactly what Jason said to do and it worked as intended. Best piece of advice would be to get the best ship you can find and just follow the directions.
Thanks Jason!
Just started NMS. Im in about 10 hrs and your videos have made the game that much more fun. Keep up the good work man.

@@TheNinjakat2010 repaired almost everything and couldn't reclaim again. I'll find how many repairs can you do before it becomes unreclaimable.
@@jaideesasaki did you ever find out how much you could fix it?
I just have to comment and say thanks for this top. I have made so much money this way. On a attempt to give a tip back, if you find a downed ship you want to keep but not repair, have a friend claim it and take it to space station. He then trades it to an NPC, you go to NPC that will appear next to ship you want and ask to buy ship. You can then buy it from NPC for free and it all repaired. Got an S class 48 slot Hauler like this.
Glitch fixed, just says locate pilote to begin trade on the "abandoned ship" after you've done the trade.
Thank for the update
Not fixed just did it
Did this today. Worked like a charm!
I did it will a little ship 200k. But tried it again on a 9m and it worked ones and I was left on on abandoned Space Station no one's coming back
Happened for me too, says ship is abandoned and I have to locate the pilot
It tells me the ship is abandoned, and to locate the pilot to begin trade after the first first trade.
Same
It happened to me
Just talk to the pilot
And from what I've seen it let's me claim it for free
I tried 4x the ship says abandoned but I can’t reclaim it as of today (XBOX)
Also.. my other ship doesn’t show up at the station either...
Thanks for this Jason I can verify that this is still working although I did find I could still make a load of units on more expensive ships eg. Crashed ship was 11.5m scrap value, I traded a ship worth 15m paid 4.5m then scraped for around 10.5m making 6m and getting better components to sell. cheers
Was going to comment about the date but with what is happening around the world, April fools seems not to be happening. Will have to give this a try
Yeah, I think it is cancelled this year...
April Fools closed.
I had to re-load my save :)
The other odd bit was when I flew the "ghost" ship down & summoned a ship I'd bought in the same station, the *latter* ship stayed on the pad in the station & showed as claimed by my friend! We assumed it would do the same weird body-double thing so we left it alone.
This still works after the mech update. It is a little weird though, the first time I tried it didn't work but the second time it did. If it isn't working for you just try another star system

It does seem to give me more crashed pilots too. I need to do some more research, there has to be a way to force the maps to do that
In the worse case scenario, just land at the unwanted spots to clear the beacon. It’s a pain, but still quicker than running through the pilot mission for little reward.
What is create an auto save right before I search for the signal, and then I hover over the crash sight when I arrive. If someone is walking around I just reload my previous save, but if it’s an abandoned ship I land and take it
It's about 1 in 3 that don't have a pilot.
Just use the radar on your Nautilon on ocean planets. It's literally built for finding sunken crashes ships.
For those saying they fixed this, they haven't. You just can't use any warping at all. Find a crashed ship. Repair it and fly to the space station.

Thanks for this. Still works as of this week (start of Dec 2020)
Yeahh doesn't work for me neither, i guess that was their way of fixing it

- Can fly back to distress site of ship with preowned ship to double check (abandoned ship should be at originally found location while another "fake" copy left behind at the space station)
-Do not attempt to take said "fake copy" (could mess it up)
You can just scrap the abandoned ship when you're done and it will respawn back at the crash site after a while.

Yeah, changed in Jamuary 2021. Still worked at Christmas.
Cheers :p

Does this work on PS4 and if so can I do this whenever I open the application or one time deal?
A few things I learned along the way:
It says I have to find the pilot when I went to claim the abondond ship
Did the same thing to me after i did it 6 times, logged out and in and haven't seen that again

8:40 Damn, that is such a beautiful ship! I still just cannot believe the total Jekyll and Hyde transformation this game underwent from it's release date in 2016.

This makes me a little excited still, the fact that people can have the most unique player experience. Putting in coordinates, or finding your own path amidst the stars. I always slept on this game but damn it’s so good now!!
Fun fact: I am more interested on getting that ship and knowing where this site is, that the glitch itself xD
same. ive been looking for this ship for 700 hours now. its insane how i haven't found it yet. ive got one similar. one with the fins and no side engines.
It's funny I just found this one last night while playing. Like a completely fixed one landed while I was waiting around. Bought it outright
@@DC_Joker187damn lucky..
When will they allow us to build or design ships?
Great Glitch man, I'm still sing the Multi tool glitch, and with all the upgrades I've added I'm up to about 200k per breakdown, thanks for the heads up on this stuff, you're the best!, Gonna try this one when i get home in the morning, thanks again.
Do you actually give a heart to every single comment?
I try to unless it is super bad. I'll give them to criticism because I take everything in to make sure I'm helping as many people as possible.
Yay I got a heart
@@JasonPlaysNMS wow thats actually incredible how much time do you have that you can heart most of the comments in yor 80k sub channel?
tip for everyone that wants to do this and find ships in trading stations normally: the length of the hallway you go through matters, the shorter the hallway the more often merchants will land.
So it still works right
@@anthonycorona566 oh yay i did it yesterday with a 5.6 million unit hauler i found.
void wanderer nice now I’m gonna do it
@@anthonycorona566 i hope you get lucky with your crashed ships!
Jason the launch thrusters need to be fixed what do we do then
After an hour of doing this I accidentally exchanged my ship and had to load to the safe point. 🙃
oof
Oof
even with that factor introduced, it's still worth it!
*oOf*
@@dantebenuto No no; it's meant to be ''Oof'' dammit!
hi cannot remember who posted this but it works living ship upgrades get 2 every time you do this takes 2 mins go to bird bird hexagon whale sunrise spiral sunrise sunrise bird sunrise sunrise moon then go to the space station get out reload auto save get back in set off then pulse drive any direction for about 30 secs and there it is when you get it set off back pulse drive and get another on way back to station then get out reload auto save and do it again if you get other things trying to call you ignore them and will be about another 30 to 45 secs after that but works perfectly every time just remember reload auto save each time in station hope this helps
Hmm, I might give this a try
ps lol you keep doing it and sell them when you got enough and build up your nannites
Didn’t work for me today, says the ship is abandoned and I have to find the pilot to trade 😨
Me too, really would like to know why
Yeah, for me too
Great video Jason, hope you and your family are staying safe.
We are, and I hope you and yours are as well
Jason Plays thank you, yes we are making the best of it. Got Journey to the savage planet. Such a fun game! Love it. Walmart’s website has it $10 cheaper than anyone else! Didn’t even have to leave home. Haha
Hey, I’m trying out the glitch and it’s not letting me re-claim my crashed ship after I scrap the free ship, is it patched??
Same here, guessing it's patched
My friend actually did it on accident 3 days ago on Xbox one.
Still works on ps4, just did it
Not working on PC as of Sep 14 2021 ...
Hell yeah! Couldn't figure out how to crash the economy with wirelooms so this is a life saver.
@@brynnrogers5081 I'll start grinding that out. Straight to the point Text tutorials are easier for me to grasp. Thanks man.
Im scared to watch this since its april 1st
Nah, pretty sure it was cancelled this year. The world is pretty busy at the moment
Already got fooled by professor cynical
Few things bout it :P 1) If You repair broken slots, yes overall price of ship dont change, but trade in value gets higher (tested). 2) You can use nanites to rise trade in ships class (rises its price). Both cases You get materials/nanites/money back easy at swapping ships. Also paying up to 5-6 mil when swapping is ok, easily makes money back change for ship inventory upgrade worth it, especially if those cost 50mil+ for Your ship :P). Also scrap all tech ships have before You melt theme, gets You some extra wire looms, antimatter etc
As of today... 19 of April, I can confirm that the glitch still works.
Seems like people were saying it dosnt work but I might try it
It got patched
@@mizark8306 well new update rolled out but haven't logged since yesterday... Did you tried it and it didn't work???
Great job J.... found a b class crashed ship and rinsed for all that lovely money and Nanites.
Apr 1, 2020
...hum
If real you are only trading down, which means less chance of storage augmentations and lower modules, less nanites. yes its free money, but we all have lots of that :)
Eh, if you can squeeze out an A Class then you still have a good chance of augmentations....
Been at it for about an hour now and I have 9 augmentations already. I'm using a c class ball hauler though...
Your tutorials are so good i wish you'd do a step by step how to mod on pc.
I have been thinking of doing that. Maybe a tutorial on how to play vanilla No Man's Sky
@Jason Plays so after you're done with the glitch do i need to do anything special when leaving space station? and should i keep the ship in the space station unclaimed after i am finished? or do i just leave the ship there unclaimed and take my ship and go my merry way?
Great content really helps.
Well thank you!
Been watching your nms vids since the beginning. Keep up the good work
I think they have fixed this now? I can't get it to work. Tried half a dozen times
Do the refiner glitch. Super easy and you can do (to my tests) infinite amounts of refiners
Herbal Doctor what’s the refiner glitch?
@@beetzdon104 you put items in refiner create save point by jumping in and out of ship. Then go back to refiner and take items out and get in ship (don't get out) spawn in Nexus and fly into it. Try trading as you fly in without getting out then exit to main menu. Rinse and repeat . It is super easy with chlorine.
@@beetzdon104 also dm me for detailed description
I just did this and it let me reclaim the abandoned ship still so it still works
Works. Did some testing, I repaired some inventory slots (left broken tech alone), still worked. I bought inventory slots, and even upgraded it's class, and the glitch still worked. Reloaded the autosave, that stopped the fun.

Same
That didn't happen to me. Or at what point did you "lose?" The ship.
@@jennak8946 it's if you have more than one ship in your inventory and swap instead of claim. Just figured it out.
Great find.....but I will stick with crashing economy with cobalt, net profit of 20mil+ /trade
Crashing economy is way faster for sure, but you get nanites with this one.
How much of a product do you need to sell at once to trigger the crash?
@@jippy8976 about 2000 cobalt will crash it enough to start. Does not work with tech looms any more tho, so don't waste your creds trying with them.
@Koa T Thanks, I’ll give it a shot :)
@@jippy8976 you can also do the same with platinum, ionized cobalt, chlorine but they don't always spawn at buy selection, but when they do it's a massive profit

Glitch still works on Xbox one,
A few tips
1)Fix all the inventory slots to increase the trade in value, think of it as a small investment the can quickly turn around.
2)Dont fix any other ship systems as I dont know if this will lock the ship onto you.
3)You can also pay the deference on a trade if you want, but you may not get all your money back out of the scrapped ship.
4) store extra goodies from scrapped ships in your other ship just before your reclaim the abandoned ship so keep your inventory slots open.
hahaha I did this last week and thought it was a bug, I scrapped 4 ships for free
Nice!! I just ran into it over the weekend while I was looking for a nice fighter
@@JasonPlaysNMS yep I wanted that my permadeath run were as hardcore as possible so when I got artemis ship I went to the station to scrap the first ship and use the crashed one, but then I saw a good looking fighter and traded it, and thats when the glitch happened haha it was so weird
