I am a retired lawyer who did complex litigation involving regulation of utility companies. At the end of a case, we had enough documents to fill an entire filing cabinet. We would send the entire file off to a "dead storage" warehouse for keeping, in case we ever had to go back to it. This mausoleum reminds me of a "dead storage" warehouse. Pun intended.
Stunning and clean, very well maintained. The only things missing are benches for relatives to sit on. What a shame with the leaks, but the weather has damaged our property also. Pleasure to walk with you.
It was amazingly beautiful, to see the couple in the the together, at the beginning of your Awesome video. I did not know that that could be done.... I suppose, if one has enough money, anything is possible ❤ I want that, for me and my husband😊 Thank you young man, you're Awesome 👌 ❤
Videos like this one is what I believe most of us enjoy, I started watching cemetery tours 10 years ago when I lost my wife and enjoyed most but a lot of who I followed has changed the format and very seldom go to unknown cemetery and find fascinating facts about people who are buried there, with a mix of celebrity tours that most have heard of, I do wish that some of the original adventurers would return to the roots of exploring and not so much high profile sites, please keep this up
This mausoleum is beautiful, especially the stain glass. I hope they fix those water leaks soon. I heard that voice as well, outside the chapel. Great walking tour Tony, thank you very much. Have a great day. 😊

15:39 in the song “Werewolves of London” by Warren Zevon there’s a great line in that song that goes “I saw a werewolf drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic’s, his hair was perfect”. I never knew that was a real place. That’s a great find, thank you for sharing.
I'm planning to visit this place soon. It's so beautiful and unique. I don't have any family members in there, but I do outside in the rest of the cemetery. Thanks for the visit...
Thank you for doing Mtn View in Oakland. My family is resting there in different sections it my young 2yr old cousin is in the children’s sanctuary (tragically gone too soon). They have decorated the front of the cemetery with lights at Christmas that are so beautiful. Brings the spirit of the holidays to those who need uplifting while the visit their loved ones. A tradition since I was a child from the 50s. Truly committed to the service of the community & families & those at rest there.
What amazes me, is that such a beautiful and exclusive mausoleum, would be leaking from the window and ceiling. There's also leaking where the deceased, are laid in their various plots.... That is awful 😮😢
Thanks for sharing! I just moved out to San Jose. Not sure if you checked it out, but Oak Hill Cemetery in SJ is massive and quite beautiful. They have several Mausoleums as well. And I just started working at a funeral home so I literally have access to these places when a service arises 😂
I have a Grandmother, Grandfather and a beloved Great Aunt entombed in a huge Mausoleum and Cemetery in Southern Westchester NY just north of NYC and the one thing I always remember is the strong smell 👃🏼 of carnation flowers. Now every time I smell carnations that’s all I think of 😅
I bought my backup urn it's solid red marble. It was a vase but a week later I found the perfect lid. I sprayed it with glow in the dark paint. "Laughs in evil"
Whenever I see tours of the insides of mausoleums, I can't help but think of the movie, "One Dark Night." That movie ended up scaring the crap out of me! 😂
It’s really interesting…you’d think that places like this would be perpetual care with respect to flowers and so on. My grandmother and grandfather on my father’s side are at a perpetual care cemetery which places flowers at each burial site so each person doesn’t look forgotten.
As I watched this video you were walking down a hall and I see Lucian A. Jourdonais , my paternal great grandfather, which I never knew where he was buried. Thanks!
After watching many videos of mausoleums leaking and falling apart I fear for this one because it does not look like there is a sense of urgency here to repair which does not bode well.🤔
Totally Agree!! Just wait till the corporation sells all the spaces. The fact that they don't get up and tarp the roof, but let water continue to actively leak into & front of loved ones burial space are a sigh of worse things to come! The bucket method will continue to be used because it's cheaper than repairing skylights. Visiting family members and potential buys need to demand repairs!
Was just there three days ago to get the flowers we placed for my sisters family. Last year when my aunt and sister went they had to use the bathroom before they left and they didn’t know where it was but they saw a guy they thought was a security guard, but he had a night stick walk down the stairs and they went that way and found the bathroom. The guy walked out before they went in.
i live in Bay Area never ever been there. Must visit and thanks you presentation. Bechtel wives pass after husband always position on bottom vaults. It that custom or normal burial practice. their iron work on their grave similar to art deco like Hoover damn.
Beautiful place....and a beautifully done video, Tony. As soon as I saw the name, I recognized Trader Vic....his location in San Francisco on the ally street known as Cosmo Place, was like entering a huge Tahitian palace....thatched roofing....giant clam shells lining the entry walkway as you approach the main seating area, as well as elevated seating areas, around the perimeter of the room....and of course, Tiki's. Quite an experience for a teenager and his (my) prom date.
Masterpiece, as usual! It would be interesting to know the price of a grave, or a place in a columbarium, or an underground burial. I am passionate about funerary art and I have seen many cemeteries, but so beautiful and well-kept I believe they only exist in the only truly great superpower, the USA!
When you go downstairs n turn left that wall in front of you.bodies in a niche n then in the front too 10:16 mark. There is no room for both the niche n front to have bodies?
I really don't get it why people pour so much money into the disposition of their remains except out of grief and/or ego saying 'I should have a memorial that says I was a person worth remembering and the more expensive memorial the better!' Or something like that.....
I personally do not believe in inground burial or preservation of remains in these type of facilities however municipalities should have laws regarding the upkeep of such facilities an encrypted corpse corpses can harbor pathogenic organisms for centuries

Most graves go unvisited for very long periods. Cemeteries are nice quiet places of repose, interrupted by the occasional visit or burial service.
May they all RIP 🌹🌹🌹
That mausoleum is a work of art in and of itself. The guys that built it were truly master craftsmen ✊
Thank you for sharing this beautiful mausoleum tour
I love your videos I purchased a mausoleum for my wife and myself
What an amazing place. All i can say is thank you for taking us on this wonderful tour. Wow and more Wow

Well done. Especially liked the WWI- WWII info. Beautiful windows.❤
Beautiful mausoleum but is sad to see such a huge place with so few flowers. Children section only had two graves with flowers 😢

A very old and beautiful place thanks tony.
