This video has explained my vestibular migraines so clearly! I’ve been bounced back and forth between neurologists and otolaryngologists for the last year and it was a physical therapist who actually put it all together and diagnosed me. I now understand why the tests were in normal range but that it is a combination of the history AND tests which has led to a proper diagnosis. After having physical therapy I can better control my day to day and am more confident that I can handle the episodic debilitating attacks that have occurred. I was incapacitated for hours at a time with uncontrolled nausea and vomiting on three separate occasions. Very scary! I no longer think I’m dying every time this happens. 😊
Been dealing with Vestibular issues for going on 4 years now. Had to have a Vestibular Schwannoma Tumor removed plus 25 radiation treatments. 3 Nerves have been through a lot. Now I'm dealing with Vertigo, Dizziness, Energy low and more. Don't wish these issues on anyone!
You've mentioned in previous videos of having visual disturbances. Can you please touch on this a little more. Maybe describe? Thank you...I'm finding your videos so comforting and helpful.
Hey Christine, It really is individual but you can find some of the most common symptoms here like visual snow or photophobia. thedizzycook.com/vestibular-migraine-symptom-dictionary-an-interview-with-dr-cho-from-house-clinic/
I have had migraines since I was an early teen and just recently (20+ years later) I had my first real vertigo episode. I thought I was having a stroke. For real. I sat in the er waiting room for 5 hours hoping I wasn’t having a stroke or aneurism. It was the BPPV. The the meds don’t help at all. I’m wondering if it was actually a vestibular migraine brought on by my migraine attack I had been having. Thoughts?
Did you ever stop to consider mindbody medicine? Like the work of Dr. John Sarno, Gabor Maté etc? I have pretty much your same story including it worsening when I first decided to start trying for kids. I’m finding that the mind is very powerful and can cause crazy symptoms when there are unresolved issues and unexpressed emotions.
@@TheDizzyCook yes not now but I mean in the past when someone gets on a long haul flight and they come off and feel like they are rocking back and forth standing still and if the vehicle is park or laying down it's mal de debarquement syndrome an altered velocity storage mechanism. Vestibular migraine also causes similar issues but mdds is non stop 24/7 rocking after a boat or plane.
