    Definitely fits my description of dizziness,brain fog, nausea, while turning my head. Was diagnosed w occular migraine and neuro put me on migraine meds that did not work. I have clear "swirls" in my vision about 20x per day, everyday in only rt eye for four+ years. These swirls are painless, but are different than a classic migraine aura. Used to have headaches as a kid, but do not have the headache pain now. Very frustrating. Thanks, doc

    Thank you so much for this video! I recently purchased your new book and am looking forward to reading it as soon as it comes in the mail. I have suffered from vestibular migraine for 19 years. Because I don't get the terrible migraine headaches, it took 10 of those 19 years before anyone knew what was wrong with me. I had constant, non-stop vertigo or feelings of motion for the past two and a half years. I am a little better now but lately, my stress level has triggered a rise in symptoms. It is a bit of a comfort to me to be able to listen to talks like yours. I feel better the more educated I am about my condition. Thanks again!

    I literally screamed with joy when I watched your video! I spent nearly two years in a horrible cycle of complex migraines which resulted in pretty significant blood pressure spikes, and subsequent lacunar infarcts. I have had incidents that could not be diagnosed, and I blew them off as the side effects of the infarcts. No! You described them to a tee! Thank you so much. I have kept them to myself, fearful that I may have another TIA. I have so much peace because of your video.

    I have had all my life aura migraine with a mild headache, as well as a very bad case of motion sickness, but 8 years ago I began to have attacks of vestibular migraine (disorientation, dizziness, vertigo, nausea, violent vomiting and after that a full-blown headache - and all the time I have to be completely motionless and my eyes closed to try to ward off the horrible vertigo and nausea). Some triggers: bad sleep, stress, motion sickness. But all my attacks have come after looking at the screen of a laptop or a phone. My neurologist found me one medicine which I can take immediately and it works: hydroxyzine in a liquid form.

    You might want to look at GERD and Eustachian Tube Dysfunction connection which can kick off vertigo and migraines due to gastric juices causing inflammation in the Eustachian tube. Just putting that out there to consider. It is one issue I discovered is either over looked or ignored by ENT’s as a possibility…but it is very real. I just wish you doctors could find a true cure to this vestibular migraine issue overall instead of just tossing pills, promises and endless diets and other things that just don’t work. This condition is literally life altering in the worst way. It has messed up my life and lead me to experience unimaginable depression, frustration and thoughts of just wanting to give up. Being dizzy, feeling like I am going to puke at any moment due to sudden unexpected vertigo attacks and being in pain due to constant migraines is not my idea of living. I once had a life. A good life. I want it back. 😢💔

    • @NormandyDPiccolo
      @NormandyDPiccolo 5 месяцев назад

      @@thankyouforsmoking157 In my personal experience with GERD, I have used Manuka Honey 15+ UMF (organic) and a probiotic called VSL #3 ( make sure to order it directly from the company because they know how to package it to keep the good bacteria cold which is very important), along with extra virgin coconut oil and black walnuts. But always check with a doctor and/or research things before doing stuff. GERD is typically caused by a bacteria we all carry called H. Pylori. For most people, H. Pylori stays in check. But for others, it gets out of control sometimes and can cause a lot of issues like GERD and even bleeding ulcers if left untreated. This bacteria really thrives in a low acid environment. One way to find out if your GERD is being caused by low acid and not high acid production is to drink a glass of water with just enough sea salt in it to make it a little bit salty. If you feel better after, even hungry, chances are you actually are low acid producing… which, in my case meant that the H. pylori was in full swing and having a heyday on my stomach. There are antibiotics that can kill H. Pylori if you test positive for an overgrowth. A G.I. doctor can order the test. I had to literally beg for the test. It was ridiculous. I decided to treat it naturally once I tested positive because the antibiotics were too rough for my stomach to handle. It takes a little time, but eventually a healthy bacterial balance will be restored to your stomach. And as long as you maintain a healthy diet, including a good probiotic like Manuka honey or VSL #3 and do not allow the H. pylori to get out of control, then the GERD issues should not be as frequent. I hope that helps. And I hope that you find answers for your GERD issue and get it fixed. 🙏🏻

During a Vertigo attack stare gently at a fixed point (on the wall for example a door handle). Cut out screen time and bright lights. Focus on anxiety reduction and stress reduction. My vertigo (the feeling of motion when there is none) changes, as in 'it starts' and 'it stops" (if it is going to do either) after sleeping. It's not positional b/c the same is true if I'm sleeping sitting up...Is that a clue? I think it is, and that it points to MdDS vs some of the other diagnoses that have similar symptoms. My symptoms for over 2 years now, are hearing a roaring noise, feeling motion (specifically that the floor is vibrating OR that I'm in a rocking boat) and feeling off balance. I have high pitched tinnitus in my right ear..the roaring noise I hear seems to be coming from both ears. The roaring noise sounds like an engine idling just outside the house. The initial diagnosis was tinnitus...the doc who thought that now thinks it is a vestibular disorder. And the new ENT I'm seeing does too...to date I've had a VNG, a cVEMP, a test for a fistula, an MRI of the head and will have next week a CT scan of the head. I have no nystagmus...the ENT has mentioned the oval window or the round window being kept open due to inflammation in the inner ear, among other things. I have no headaches, but I do have prior history of migraines, started when I was 31 and lasted for almost 10 years and was accompanied by extreme fatigue..I was told it couldn't be migraines b/c I had no aura..I have since been told differently; this was followed by IBS (possible abdominal migraines?) followed by BPPV for almost 20 years, which went away in 2015....My current symptoms began in late Feb. 2020 after I got a virus ( possibly covid but not considered at the time b/c the symptoms were suggestive of the flu). In 2020 I lost my appetite and lost 20 pounds w/o trying, and in 2021/2022 I have had intermittent fevers, and my old normal body temp which was 98.6 is now 97.2, for these past couple of years, and I , in the last year or so, often have body temps of 96.6..I feel cold often but sometimes I feel like I'm burning up inside...generally I feel great except for the vertigo/balance/roaring issue, which I have most days but not every day. The severity of the vertigo/balance is relative to the loudness of the roar. AND if it goes or if it returns, it is always after I sleep. I thought it might be positional, but this holds true if I fall asleep sitting up. When I am having symptoms, they are non-existent with passive motion (riding in the car). I am 'normal' when I'm riding and can drive just fine. The vibrations are driving me crazy and I am looking for answers. Might you have any thoughts/insight? FYI I am now 72. btw: I listened to Dr. Teixido early on, one of his podcasts on youtube, which pointed me to thinking I have vestibular migraines, when the docs were dismissing me telling me I had tinnitus. also, I did have breast cancer in 1991, 30 years ago and have no symptoms of recurrence. I'm most inclined to think I have MdDS b/c the diagnostic criteria exclusions that would dismiss Meniers, and PPPD.

I was referred to a neurologist and put on some preventive meds which have helped. I still have chronic vestibular migraine but the intensity of my symptoms is down by half or more making them much more bearable. I still think MdDS could be in play as well b/c I've read that there can be some cross-over.... But of note, people with VM do experience rocking motions which is a form of vertigo.

I have more good days which I track each day be assigning a number from 0 to 10 with 10 as the worst and 0 as the best...my days now are generally 4 or less vs prior having more 7s, 8s, 9s, and 10's with on average eight zero days per month...I don't have as many zeroes now but I have a lot of 1's, 2's and 3's so overall it is better.

Come to find out most of us dealing with vestibular migraines, cluster headaches and vertigo are low on Vitamin D3-K2 as well as magnesium and CoQ10, Omega3. In the first 2 weeks I megadosed taking 50,000IU of Vitamin D3-K2
    600mg of magnesium glycinate
    300mg of Ubiquinol (coQ10)
    2,000MG of Omega3
    After 2 weeks I reduced my Vitamin D3-K2 to only 10,000 IU daily for maintenance. Look it up on you tube there are several doctor's talking about the dosage and see if it will work for you as it has for me.
