i really believe i have this and it started about 2 months ago. i def have a hypersensitive brain and have battled chronic anxiety and panic attacks for years. the one thing though is i have no issues driving at all. but i do suffer big time in like a grocery store for years now. i always thought i was crazy but its good to know its a real thing. But it is possible to have PPPD and be able to drive with no problems? im fine when im driving. i also feel totally fine when im laying down too. its only when im upright doing normal everyday movements like in the kitchen or bathroom the twisting and turning etc etc etc. i can take a long walk too with no issue as long as im moving forward constantly. all my symptoms seem to fit PPPD. mine started after having a bad vertigo attack that lasted like 10 seonds. ever since then ive had these PPPD symptoms (but no vertigo at all it was just that one time that triggered it) my vertigo/dizzyness i like in my head instead of external vertigo. its def worse when im having bad anxiety its very obvious it makes it much worse

Hey! So I was diagnosed with VM when PPPD wasn't really being diagnosis. We now think I probably did have PPPD caused by the VM, but it just wasn't being recognized like it is now. PPPD is that constant background dizziness which I did have more more than 3 months.

@@TheDizzyCook my lightheadedness randomly started maybe a few days a week and then then started becoming every day 24/7. No spinning, just lightheaded like on an elevator or like my head was somewhat floating. Almost like I took a drink of alcohol and had that initial head change but it never goes away. I got diagnosed with vm and neurologist started me on Effexor. Said to give it 3 weeks. I’m just wondering if vm dizziness can last all day everyday or if maybe I have pppv. I guess the good thing is they have similar treatments. Thank you for the response!

This is exactly what I have been going through for the last three years. And I have been through thousands of dollars of testing. I even just had an MRI to check for a Brain Tumor (which luckily I don't). I get attacks where everything spin so much that I can't even move from my spot. I even thought I was having a stroke at certain points. Thank you for this. I now have something to push my doctor's to test.

All these are 100% me except i do go through periods of bad headaches as well. But always off balance headache or not. Comes with severe stress which i had had a lot of so i had thought for years it was anxiety. When my symptoms started in 2001 my neuro put me on low dose Paxil for 6 months then tapered off. I was fine for a year or so. It came back and quickly. Then i went down the road of SSRI's and added Depakote. I got sick or side effects of antidepressants so ended up on Depakote alone fo4 about 5 years. I weaned off and was good about another 5 years until i had 2 back to back losses and the stress triggered it all again. I can barely drive down the stress. Now i guess it back on the med train. Going to try lamotrigine this time because i hated the weight gain from Depakote.

I had an episode of this about 4 years ago lasting about 6 months. 3 doctors dismissed me as being a malingerer. I could only safely walk with a wheely walker as I was falling all the time. Walking on sponges, turning and losing balance, all your symptoms. It was awful. I have recently had an MRI after insisting because of headaches for the last 3 years. I have been found to have periventricular white matter lesions. Probably causing my severe R sided head/neck migraines up to 10 days a month. I want to now visit a neurosurgeon. My GP is not very proactive. I feel like she hasn't believe me. The MRI has shown something but I I am not sure she knows what to do. Except wait and see. I want a plan if possible. Thankyou for your video. The symptoms were so accurate to lots of mine. 🧸

Was diagnised with vestibular neuritis by ENT with no nystagmus. VNG caloric showed weakness on right, tho I don't understand if there is a normal baseline to compare left side to. Multiple hallpike tests by ENT and vestibular therpaist, who thinks its not VN. Daily dizziness(some days worse), hyperacsusis, tinnitus both sides/central for about 4 months. Head pressure headache for hours some days. Inner ear sensations both sides, tonal fluctuation right ear, with occasional sound distortion. Clear mri without contrast according to radiologist. Waiting on a CT scan. Some light sensitivity. Vestibular therapy has not helped so far. Dizziness increases when bending over or other positions. Less when lying down. Brain fog and extreme fatigue for over a year straight, worsened since onset of dizziness, tinnitus, hyperacusis. Constant eye floaters started close to inner ear discomfort 14 months ago. Opthamologist sees no eye damage. Eyes tire as day progresses. Jaw ache, discomfort that fluctuates. Crackling with movement. Never have true vertigo that I know of. Now suspected vestibular migraine. Does this show as a chronic state of symptoms daily? Was prescribed yesterday gabapentin 100mg 3x daily. Took a few and woke up feeling worse all day today. May be unrelated. Meclazine and sumatriptan as needed. Been to so many doctors and practitioners for over a year with no clear diagnoses. Could be multiple things going on.

Your symptoms sound exactly like mine! Thank you for sharing! I have seen Doctor after Doctor trying to determine what is wrong with me! Meclizine made me violently ill! I will never take that again. I just saw another Doctor yesterday who suggested that this may be Vestibular Migraines. So, here I am watching RUclips videos. After months of tests and no answers, I thank you for sharing your story! I just bought your book and look forward to making some migraine healthy meals soon. Hopefully, I can find a Doctor who can help me with a proper diagnosis, whether it is finally determined that this is the appropriate diagnosis for me or something else is. While I have only had the vertigo/vestibular migraine issues since early April, I have had a whole lifetime of migraines. It's the new vertigo symptoms that threw me.

I wore glasses for 62 years...after cataract surgery I no longer needed glasses...for those 62 years the first thing I did in the morning and the last thing I did in the evening was reach for my glasses, putting them on/taking them off...I continued to do this in spite of no longer wearing them. I knew the hardened neural pathways in the brain could be remapped based on what I'd read. BUT...I wasn't sure I believed it...Well, guess what. It took two months and without any effort or thought on my part I stopped reaching for my glasses!! I was amazed and encouraged b/c I knew that the brain is plastic and can be rewired!! It's exciting to me and it gives me hope that my horrid VM symptoms/triggers can be remodeled.
