loretta is recognized as southern OG,during her day she had 8 songs pulled from radio play cause they wwere thought to be,,,to strong for radio,,,she is legend,,
Loretta got married as a young girl of thirteen years old to a womanizing older man. She grew up poor and barefoot in the small town of Butcher Holler Kentucky.
I saw Loretta perform in Lexington Kentucky in 1978. I do believe the entire population of her hometown, Butcher Holler , Kentucky, was in the audience that night.
You should check out her song "Don't Come Home A-Drinkin (With Lovin' On Your Mind)". She was always out spoken and she did not play any games with anyone.
I love the song and your reaction to it. 😂😂In the UK we don't say close your face but we say shut yer (your) face which means shut up or stop speaking.
Loretta owned the town she lived in, and the subject of the song was a woman who drove the school bus who Loretta's husband was having an affair with. thats the she says "take a detour around my town" and go to fist city. the woman had been bragging about having an affair with Loretta's husband. The woman was entitled to free school dinners which was referenced "move your feet (means using the pedals on the bus) if you don't wanna eat a meal thats called fist city" The references are everywhere

Thank you so much, we appreciate you. We definitely came to know more about her after we did our first reaction to her. She will be missed. - kloquewerk
She's 90 years old now, still working, and still says what she's thinking whether you like it or not. She's never forgotten her roots, and where she came from. She loves her fans...which she doesn't call fans. She calls them friends, because she and they have helped each other along the way during her 60+ year career.
Dolly Parton: Jolene, please don't take my man Loretta Lynn: Bitch, try it & you'll see what happens One thing about Southern women you should know - the sweeter the smile, the faster ya'll better run the other way.
I’m in tears cause we just released our reaction to Dolly Parton Jolene. If you haven’t checked it out yet let me know what you think once you do……Rob 🔒 P.S. We think alike in regards to the songs lol
I almost wrote the famous southern woman “sweeter we smile” line in my request for the song, but I was hoping for a blind reaction. I was not disappointed. Lol. I’m glad someone mentioned it though. Lol.
I just found your channel so I'm late to the party, but Loretta Lynn gave me one of my biggest memories ever. I was in college when I went to one of her concerts, at Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, as a guest of my friend who, the previous year, had toured with her as her dresser. By the end of the night, we had been on her famous purple bus and sat backstage playing poker with her band while Conway Twitty opened for her. After the concert, while she stood on the stage apron signing autographs for anyone who was lined up (lots of people), we were standing next to her. When we decided we should leave, she said to us, "Where do y'all think you're goin'? You're not gonna leave me standin' up here all by myself. You're just stuck with me till I'm done." And while she signed autographs, she gave us life advice since we were both embarking on performing careers, ourselves. We told her we couldn't wait to get out of college. She answered, "You'll be outa there before you know it and when you are y'all gonna wish you were right back in there." She was class and sass all rolled into one.
You guys had me rolling, Loretta Lynn was an amazing artist and you guys reaction was absolutely amazing!!! Thank you, I need this tonight, I will most likely be listening again!!
Her kids bus driver told her kids that she was gonna be their new momma. The line you couldn't quite hear was "I'm not saying that my man is a saint and he won't cat around with a kitty". ... he wasn't a great guy and messed around with other women while she was on tour.
As Loretta Lynn would tell them, "I'll beat the tar out of you!" She'd catch him when she came home from the road. Or even come off the stage. She broke his fingers once. Watch her bio movie. Coalminers daughter. Shut your face means shut your mouth. 😂
The first and original mic drop! I love it! When she sings "I'll grab you by the har of the head (and yes I said har bc that is true southern dialogue) it just brings true southern culture to a woman who was raised in the south..amazing!
My dad (86 yrs old) is a huge fan of Loretta, especially her duets with Conway Twitty. One of their famous songs that I heard as a child still sticks in my mind - "You're the reason our kids are ugly" HAHA! I miss the hilarious songs of the 60's - 80's. :-)
Her history in country music is very rich. She is very revered and considered the queen. There is a movie about her life you guys out of watch. Coal miners daughter is the name. Loretta was also very psychic as well as her mother. She has strong Indian background. Her and her husband bought a Civil War mansion in hurricane Mills Tennessee. Also Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn were partners in crime they have a bunch of songs together. And if you like Loretta Lynn he will probably Lake Conway Twitty. PS listen to Loretta Lynn “the pill” it is the original “wap” lol

Don't mess with a country girl. Loretta was raised tough and had to do hard chores like all country folk did back in the day. She was the type that looked meek and weak, but you didn't want to mess with her. Most street girls sat on their rumps doing nothing most of their lives just getting high or drunk and only good at running their mouths. While most country girls worked hard took care of their health, eating what come from the fields and gardens and their farm animals so naturally stronger with more stamina than the average city girl. My favorite part to this song though is, " I'm not a-sayin' my baby is a saint, 'cause he ain't And that he won't cat around with a kitty I'm here to tell you, gal, to lay off of my man If you don't wanna go to Fist CityI And like she said, She meant it too.
Two years down the road, I’m still laughing. I don’t know if anyone told you, there’s a famous country song called “Detroit City” by Bobby Bare. Pretty bluesy tune!
That is because Loretta Lynn was Loretta Webb 13, and got married to a military guy who lived on her mountain, which was called Butcher Holler, which my father lived down the road from them and of God but here’s the story she married somebody who was in their 20s, he took her away from her parents and moved Away everything her daddy told him not to do so they get to where they’re going. She has some kids and he has always messed around on her and she’s always called him so she started writing songs about I will knock the holy shit out of you if I catch you with my husband. Oh, and she did, you want to see how badly so there’s a movie called coal Miner‘s daughter that Loretta Lynn wrote and she cast Sissy, basic in it to play her and Sissy basic saying every song of Loretta lens herself and you will see it is the funniest damn thing and heartfelt she don’t know shit she will knock the damn hell out of a woman and those days and those yearsshe did not care in the movie. There was a picture of her picking up a stick going after a woman riding in a jeep with her husband and she’s called her a pig and hit her with this big old stick. It’s fantastic.
Welcome to the Queen of Country Music, the one and only Loretta Lynn .. she boasts a dozen singles banned from the radios. His songs are autobiographical 😉 she still sings today at the age of 90…a living legend 💪🏻🇺🇸
That instrument is a pedal steel. Loretta had several songs banned from country radio because of her no-nonsense lyrics. Most of her lyrics came straight from her tumultuous marriage to her husband Mooney (Doolittle). When they met she was only 15, he was a ridge runner or moonshine runner so everyone called him Mooney. She had her first kid when she was 16. By the time she was 22 she had 4 kids, then later after she was into the music business she had two more, twin girls.
