Tammy: Stand by your man.
Dolly: Please don't take my man.
Loretta: Go ahead; see what happens.
Ahhahahahaha!!!
lol, yep!
Right!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Awesome!!
A funny story.....my parents went to see Loretta at a small venue that had long tables . I was just a baby so I was not there, but they talked about it over the years and would just laugh.
Anyway she had just came out with a song Called "You aint woman enough to take my man" well while she was singing it some woman yelled " I BET I CAN " and everyone started laughing. Well Loretta threw down the microphone , hiked up her long skirt and went over the tables and started flailing on the woman ! The band had to pull her off of the woman. The woman ran out of the place , Loretta went back to the stage and started singing like nothing happened LOL.
Loretta Lynn was my first foray into country music and she got me hooked! I love her and I wish she was still here making her amazing music!
Queen of country music forever, been my favorite singer of all time since I was a little singing toddler
I’m a eastern KY coalminer’s daughter, just like Loretta. She wrote this song. She was an OG gangsta. This cracked me up. May the Queen Loretta Rest In Peace with her beloved husband, Doolittle.
TN coalminer's daughter here. Similar story - 9 kids , no money. I love Loretta
Oliver "Doolittle" Lynn was her husband. He was the main catalyst of her career, and she wrote most of her songs about or because of him. Loretta said she wrote this song because the lady bus driver in their town told her kids that their dad was going to divorce Loretta and marry her, the bus driver. Loretta saw to it that it wasn't going to happen! Another song inspired by Doolittle or Mooney as he was also known as, was "Don't Come Home A Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your MInd). To get an idea of the character of her husband, watch "Coal Miner's Daughter". Doo was played by Tommy Lee Jones, and Loretta was played by Sissy Spacek, who won the Oscar for her role.
Yes! One of my all-time favorite movies
Definitely need to see Coal Miner's Daughter. Very good movie!
he was a D-Day vet and even he was scared of Loretta 😂
He didn’t write her songs she wrote her own. He INSPIRED fist city however she wrote it
Also he was a known cheater too. Don’t give him more credit then he deserves. She made the career herself by being a fire cracker, good song writer, and singer.
When Loretta says in the song "you better detour round my town" she had just bought the whole town of hurricane mills where she lives and that's what she was meaning. She was saying don't even come into my town haha. Love Loretta
"When he picks up trash; he puts it in the garbage can..."
Greatest lyrics ever lol
Even as a small girl I loved this song and agree that line is (IMO) in a tie for best line in a country song. My favorite opening line is from a George Strait hit Let's Fall To Pieces Together: Pardon me, you left your tear on the jukebox, and I'm afraid it got mixed up with mine". Loved your reaction, this is my favorite of her face the consequences if you cheat songs.
😂 So many great Loretta songs. She was the definition of “F around and find out” and I’ve loved her music since before I really even understood it. lol
And with that comment, you just won the Internet because that’s the gods truth!
I honestly beleive Miss Loretta was a woman that could back up those words. RIP sweet Lady
You bet she is! My favourite ever country dis song. RIP Loretta.
When she says “detour around my town” - she really meant it. She owned the entire town!
Love how Loretta tells it like it is and doesn't take shit from anyone
I see you John Carter ! :)
She's a legend and a Country Queen
Loretta Lynn wrote Fist City. She has written more than 160 songs and released 60 albums. She has had 10 No. 1 albums and 16 No. 1 singles on the country charts.
now chapel hart just wrote and sing a Continuation called welcome to Fist City
She will always be Queen of Country!! She told it like it was and folks ate it up!!
You guys are too cute.
I smiled, laughed out loud...that was great!!
Loretta and Dolly And Patty Loveless
Are My Favorites
Yes Lord I love Loretta Lynn. Lol....This is my favorite song of hers Fist City . I sung this song at my 5th grade talent show When we did a Westren Theme. And yes I won 🏆. And the movie Coal Miners Daughter is my favorite of all time. Yes she did. Her hubby Doolittle was a mess at women and she wrote a lot of songs about their relationship and they stayed together as well. Because she knew he was a hell cat at women but they loved each other. and yes she was a child when they got together and he was a whole grown man but he saw to it that she had a career in singing and he did everything to make her happy. I remember back in the day when they did the Cisco oil commercials together. " That good old fried chicken " and flaky pie crust lol... Look it up.
He was no prize. But I remember her saying "Every time he hit me I hit him back TWICE."
ruclips.net/video/S-Ag_Ch_Bpg/видео.html
@@StellaWaldvogel I remember she said he only hit her when he drank, and he drank every day. On the other hand, like you said, he never hit her once that she didn't hit him back twice, because she could whoop him and he knew it. There was only a couple of times she was actually scared of him. Once, when she knocked his tooth out. And, the second time was when he was drink and he pulled a pistol on her for acting like she was cheating on him. That night, she made all the woman chasing he was doing come to an end. She just told him that was too close and it was stopping right then and there.
mine is Rated X
That Lady was the Real Deal!!!! She grew up really poor! She grew Hard and knew what it took to do without! She knew how to and was willing
defend what she had..
Ms. Loretta let them know early on that she had them hands, and wasn't afraid to use em...LMBO!!! Respect and RIP.
Loretta wrote all her songs from the heart and she meant every word she wrote, that's why they wouldn't play them on the radio for a long time. they became #1 hits!
I’ve always said Loretta is Gangsta!! 😂 Love her 🥰
YES, Loretta recorded the first ever diss track 😂
My mama played her records over and over!! I grew up listening to Loretta Lynn. She is country's OG!!! I love "You ain't woman enough".
The beauty of music is that older generation love sharing their music with interested younger generation. We have memory files of thousands of great songs from ours and our parents generation. Now you get to build on that. Please see that you share this with the upcoming generations. Love y'all. Look into some early George Jones. The Race Is On or White Lightening.
i read that the musicians who did this song really went all out for this song I loved Loretta Hal Rugg on steel guitar
She wrote her songs from her life experiences, her husband Doo was always messing around on her. Her song the pill was about birth control which was controversial back in her day. Ones on the way is another good one. She is a legend. Married at 14 and started having babies. Her husband was instrumental in launching her career, he believed in her talent from day one. They were married til the day he died.
Loretta Lynn Queen of Country singer
Definitely!!!
The beauty about Loretta Lynn is that she wrote about life experiences.
I really appreciate your appreciation of Loretta Lynn. She’s obviously old-school so she don’t get much attention these days. So thank you for the reaction.
Loretta wrote these songs herself and used her life experience as inspiration. That Dolittle was something; but he knew which side of his bread was buttered. Just like she said he wasn’t going anywhere! He was with her from the time she was 14 until the day he died!
Rest in Paradise Loretta Lynn! 😭😭
Country Music Legend & No limit Soldier for women’s rights!
She the Queen of Country Music. She told it like it was. She the best.
She’s the longest Reigning country women 62 years in this business the undisputed Queen of country music she has won more awards then any female country recording artist first women to win entertainer of the year award she has been inducted into more hall of fames then any genre of music
This is my first time hearing this song. She wrote most of her music. She made it clear. Loving it. I will put this song again.
The best Female country singer along with her friend Patsy Cline. I just adore them! Keep up the good work!
You would love "Ones on The Way" by Loretta. YES, she wrote most of her hits.
yes I know they would
Love you 😍
Mad Mrs. Jessie Brown is another great one by Loretta Lynn.
June Carter Cash almost took Linda Ronstadt to fist city for smooching around with Johnny WITH NO PANTYS ON!! JUNE Was ready to come off the Top rope on Linda!
@@kenperk9854 I have heard rumors to that before. That's hilarious 😂😂
Yes she wrote this. This was wrote from a real experience. She was and is still real! I love her💕
Loretta was that way with her husband with songs like, don't come home a drinking , your squaws on the warpath tonight .
My absolute favorite of all Loretta's songs. RIP Mrs Lynn. We have lost an amazing talent.
Shawn & Mel, she's still performing locally in Tennessee at 90yrs old. I have a request, listen to her latest song out last year i think, "STILL aint woman enough". PLEASE learn more about this FANTASTIC woman. I been a fan for 55yrs, since I was 5. I went to school with her twins, worked on her ranch in 1980, my parents helped her set up her campground back in 74. She personally raised over a million dollars to help rebuild our county seat, Waverly, when it was flooded and wiped out 45% of the town including our 3 schools back in Aug. 2021. All while mourning the loss of her ranch foreman Wayne Spears to the flood. She's half Cherokee and she's STILL as fierce as she was when she wrote ALL her songs about her life experiences with Mooney. You should watch her 90th birthday celebration from back in April at the Grand Ole Opry, it was awesome. Also look for any tv interviews she's done, that's where you'll see the TRUE Loretta. If I'm not mistaken she was on johnny Carson, Jay Leno....god, every talk show you can think of probably. I love seeing yalls reaction to songs I been listening to all my life. This song is definitely true, it was written about a local school bus driver that told her twin daughters that she was gonna take their daddy away from their mom, but Loretta made it sound like she told her friends that cause she didnt want to put that in the song for her kids sake. She's wrote over 160 songs so you better get you a comfortable seat if you want to hear all of them, lol. If you wanna see Ms. Loretta as she is then look up "Loretta Lynn special" on LMN. Its really good and from someone who knows her personally, that's the way she is every day.
RIP Miss Loretta. You will never be forgotten. 04/14/1932 - 10/04/2022 Aged: 90 years old.
Loretta Lynn is a country legend. She is a singer song writer who's music has spanned 6 decades. She was also friends with the great late Patsy Cline. Her younger sister Crystal Gayle also is a great singer. She grew up dirt poor & stayed humble & true to her roots. Like others have mentioned, the autobiographical movie "Coal Miner's Daughter" is worth looking at.
Yes, Loretta wrote this. In my opinion there is no more Loretta-esque song than this one!!
Loretta wrote most of her songs because of her husband Doolittle. There are many great songs by her. I love your reactions about this song here. Way back when living in a small community this is how it was for many of us. She just tells it like it was. LOL
Loretta has a younger sister (by 18Yrs) who goes by the name Crystal Gayle, who is a country star in her own right. If you are looking for a "rabbit hole" to go down, begin with "Don't it make your brown eyes blue" or "Talking in your sleep" or "Why have you left the one you left me for" in fact she has so many great songs there is not enough space here to name them all May be you should begin with "Talking in your sleep" Please, Please. Thank you
Crystal Gail, beautiful and I always picture her super long hair when I think of her. And she can sing.
@@GinaPressley I agree, a beautiful voice, smile, and of course her hair. In one of her videos, "River Road" I swear that if she stepped backwards she would trip over her hair it was that long, and her smile when she sings "One more time"(live) takes my breath away, (& I'm 79 yrs old.) I know "a dirty old man" lol
when my daughter was born i sang her to sleep each night with "Dont It Make My Brown Eyes Blue". and Crystal Gail had hair that dragged the ground
Or an Eddie Rabbit hole ...
@@Yowza78 Funny Ha-Ha,😀😀 I see what you did there "Rabbit Hole"
Oh yes she wrote it. So glad you did this one!! Fist City is a term I always heard as a kid for knocking someone's teeth out and I'm 65 so . . .
Next you should do The Pill. That one got banned from radio.
One of my favorite stories about Loretta is when Jack White was gonna produce one of her albums, he found this box of songs she wrote that she never recorded and he went through them, and the first 12 songs he picked out were the 12 songs on the album. I maybe wrong, but that's how good of a songwriter she is
She wrote alot of her songs about her husband Dolittle Lynn. Coal Miner's Daughter (movie and song), and You Ain't Woman Enough To Take My Man
Loretta wrote her own songs....this was one of five banned from radio play. Loretta said "That's their problem (radios), they usually go to #1 anyway." Lol! Loretta paved the way for woman in country music. She was the FIRST FEMALE to win the BIG CMA AWARD..."ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR". RIP Loretta, The Queen of Country Music.
She told off the men more than once too. You know where you stand with Loretta, that's for sure. "Don't Come Home Drinkin'" "The Pill" and "You're the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly" with Conway Twitty! It has the same humor as this, you'll like it!
FYI about Loretta.......'Lynn is the most awarded female country recording artist and the only female ACM Artist of the Decade (1970s). She won Best Female Country Artist about 12 or 13 times (10 to 12 in a row) and the first Female Entertainer of the Year CMA award. Lynn has scored 24 No. 1 hit singles and 11 number one albums. She ended nearly 50 years of touring on the road after she suffered a stroke in 2017 and then broke her hip in 2018.' Her last Grammy win was in 2004 (she won 2, best artist and album 'Van Lear Rose') with rocker Jack White of The White Stripes! Their song "Portland, Oregon" is awesome! Another great song of hers is 'Single Ladies."
Wow J, thank you so much for the run down. Can't wait to listen to more of Loretta's songs.
It been 62 years in this business know hail the queen last of of the original girl singers
Loretta has been my favorite female Country singer. She was known for making songs that were frank about being a woman, things that weren't really talked about in Country.
HOLY COW!!! I wasn't into country back in the day and no idea when this came out but I LOVE it!!!!!!
Yes! Her lyrics are always straight forward, straight talk.
She wrote and sang just about all her songs 🎵 And most of them were about her life. Amazing 👏
That is how my wife was. She was little but mighty!!!
Good job guys! Do like everyone says and watch the movie...she was 15 when she married Doolittle Lynn.
She wrote these songs from what she experienced in her life. The #1 she wrote about her growing up is Coal Miner Daughter, the movie was made with the same title, staring Sissy Spacek and Tommy Lee Jones...well worth watching.
Yes, Loretta wrote this. My absolute favorite Loretta song is "Wings Upon Your Horns." It is a slower song, but it is beautiful.
One of my many favorites from Loretta
She not only wrote Fist City after a school bus driver told her children their daddy was going to divorce their mom & marry her, but she also wrote You Ain't Woman Enough to Take My Man & Don't come home a drinking with lovin on your mind. She wrote most of her songs.
She did write it. She was known as Queen Of Country. GOAT
They have a movie about her life... Coal Miner's Daughter. Her husband was the one she should have made eat Fist City. You should react to the movie! That would be amazing!
Loretta and her husband Dooley were basically newlyweds when they hit the road and she was singing....and after she became a star her attention was mostly on her performances and that left Dooley to stray.....many of Loretta's earlier songs that were very...let's say, colorful were written and introduced on the road by her after Doolittle got in trouble for something he shouldn't have done....the songs were mostly about the women but they were directed at Doo.
I love watching the videos of her singing this song on the old 1960s TV shows; she sings it with the prettiest little church girl smile you've ever seen. But underneath that pretty smile you know she's gonna scrap if she has to, lol. Loretta was controversial because she was one of the first country female singers that wrote songs about real women's issues. Her biggest hit is COAL MINERS DAUGHTER, but she also wrote several many controversial songs like FIST CITY, THE PILL, DON'T COME HOME A DRINKING (WITH LOVING ON YOUR MIND), and WINGS UPON YOUR THORN. I got to see her live about 5 years ago and she was still sassy in her 80s. God bless her!
So happy you got to this one! Such an underrated song by Loretta
Loretta!!! She was the OG of the pull up!! She said it so genteel and with such Southern charm ... #LorettaDoneToldYou
Loretta wrote and lived her songs. She was a country girl through and through. She was not only my favorite singer but my favorite celebrity…she was an amazing woman. RIP Loretta.
Down in the mountains you settle stuff yourself. There's plenty of old coal shafts to use as garbage containers.
Loretta is one of my idols!!!!
You don`t mess with a pissed off country girl. I remember when this song 1st came out. Still love it.
I have gotten so much entertainment the last two nights watching you react to Loretta Lynn! I think Loretta Lynn is great and I have really enjoyed your reaction to these two songs. You put a big smile on my face and sometimes I just laugh out loud! Love you both. Thank you for your willingness to react to old country, old rock n roll and old blues. Love Motown Hitsville U.S.A, Memphis, and Nashville.
You two MUST watch "COAL MINER'S DAUGHTER". The actress who plays her is the legendary SISSY SPACEK who played the title role "CARRIE" in the 1976 movie. She is AMAZING! LEVON HELM, legendary drummer of THE BAND plays Loretta's father. This is a gem of a movie! Thank You.
She was also sooooo good in “‘Night, Mother.” With Anne Bancroft.
She wrote every one of her songs and it is about everything she's ever experienced her life she was my hero
She wrote all of her songs. Your reactions were great!!
LOL. This was a fun reaction. It's hilarious and such a good song. Loretta Lynn feisty. Oh please do more. I'm just as astounded by her songs, and loving her raw natural approach in her lyrics, which I do believe she wrote herself. I saw the Loretta Lynn movie years ago, "Coal Miners Daughter". was the film and one of her songs she wrote. She had a difficult life, and I think that's why she sings it like it is, not holding back or being reserved in any way with her music.
You need to watch a live performance of this song…just to watch her smile and grin the whole time she sings these awesome lyrics! :)
Yeah that's so funny to watch her smiling so much whilst singing this 😁
You guys gotta dig up her song, "The Pill". She was the first country artist to get banned nationwide. Even after the ban, that song sold over 1 million copies.
She wrote her own songs out of experience. She sung this on a show once and after wards she was asked if that was actually aimed at someone and she replied you doggon right. lol She is about as real as it gets.
loretta is one of a kind for sure...check out these songs "there he goes" your squawl is on the war path tonight" also check out her and conway twitty duets they are great
+lisa persell “There He Goes” is actually a Patsy Cline song.
Yes, Loretta Lynn wrote this song and about every song she sung. Her husband, Doolittle was the inspiration for this song and the last one that you guys reacted to. You two really should check out "Coal Miner's Daughter". Loretta Lynn gets inspired by her real life happenings, pretty much. I really enjoyed watching this and hearing that song after for so long, thanks.
I just love Loretta Lynn. I grew up listening to her and Conway and Tammy Wynette and George Jones. My mother actually looked like Loretta. She had the same hair color and wore it like she did. She once got mistaken for her. My mom loved it. She took it as a huge compliment. Yes she wrote most of her songs. Mostly pertaining to Doolittle her husband. Love your videos. Love from Georgia USA
I absolutely LOVE that you are going down Loretta rabbit hole. Watch Coal Miners Daughter played by Sissy Spacek. You will not regret it. You will know she writes all her music back then and why. She is the "Queen of Country" for a reason.
According to Loretta herself, when "Coal Miner's Daughter" was being made, she was doing at least 2 shows a day and working with Sissy Spacek at night.
Loretta was a cutting edge songwriter in her early years. She wrote several songs similar to this one and she also was the first to write about controversial things when she wrote a song about birth control, "I've got the pill". Her songwriting was legendary...but that's what made the best songwriters back in the day. They wrote about things people could relate to!
she was too funny, i love so many of her songs. she has one called "You're the Reason Our Kids are Ugly" with Conway Twitty LOL "You're Looking at Country" and "Don't come Home A Drinkin" are other favs of mine from her.
She's such an amazing singer, I love her singing. She sure is the Queen of Country. This reminds me of Dolly Parton's "I don't want to throw rice"
I'm so happy y'all finally came across Ms Loretta Lynn. Her voice is amazing. She has a long solo career, along with an amazing duet collection with Conway Twitty. So many good choices
Loretta was a legend. You should react to more of her songs!
'Though she be but little she is fierce' - Shakespeare, A Midsummer Night’s Dream .
The Bard of Avon could easily have been speaking of 5’2” Loretta Lynn - never ever underestimate the toughness of The Coal Miner’s Daughter from Butcher Hollow, Kentucky !
I always wondered how are you gonna pick sombody up off the ground Loretta?? 😂
@@GinaPressley maybe the Other Woman is even shorter ? 😆
Indeed!!
I love this song because I can relate and I love watching yall's faces! Thanks
Loretta first liner banger. I'm having a blast smile
She has so many great, fun songs. You might like "Your Squaw is on the Warpath". I also love the duets she's done with Conway Twitty (When I Hang Up the Phone might be my favorite)
Love Loretta and this song
Check out "Don't Come Home a-Drinkin' with Lovin' on Your Mind." She lets her husband KNOW, okay?
REST IN PEACE LORETTA LYNN. LORETTA LYNN, 90 YEARS OLD, PASSED AWAY PEACEFULLY IN HER SLEEP, AT HER HOME ON HER BELOVED RANCH IN HURRICANE MILLS, TENNESSEE, THE FAMILY ANNOUNCED THIS MORNING.
Loretta Lynn is wonderful. My favorite female old country singer. You should do some others by her. One's On The Way, Coal Miner's Daughter.
She wrote this song about her kids' school bus driver who would flirt with loretta's husband while loretta was on tour!
When you come from a big family you learn to fight when you have to
Loretta is straight up OG gangsta!!!
You need to react to LORETTA LYNN-THE PILL !
RIP miss Loretta
I just came across your channel browsing around and OMG! I LOVE YOU TWO! You are so amazing! I love all the love, light and positive energy and vibes you have! I feel the love every time I watch one of your videos. Especially with my fave songs like fist city, you ain't woman enough to take my man and all the other loretta lynn & conway twitty song, together and solo they were amazing! Another great song of hers is One's One The Way, it always makes me laugh when I listen to it. Much love & light to all. Namaste
Enjoyed ya'lls review of Miss Loretta. We don't play in the KY.😁
