    Tony, I real enjoy the videos. I'm located in Fayetteville, West Virginia and I hope I can pick up some pointers from your videos. I am 68 years old and I had major back surgery two years ago. Getting back in the swing of things, I lost my golf swing. Late last year and this year I have been struggling my nuts off. It is starting to come around for me the last couple weeks. So I'm watching your videos for any little tip I can get to help me hit the ball better. Thank you for explaining in detail the proper way to play golf. Bless you.

      John, I hope I can help you have more fun and I wish you well on your back recovery. I have coming out real soon a video about "Geezer health/physical issues...mostly telling all about my own just to let seniors know they aren't the only ones.

    Hey Tony, I tried this left leg push off yesterday at the driving range. It really helped a lot, especially with my driver.
    Today I played a round of golf and had my best round ever.
    I hit 12 of 14 fairways off of the tee with my driver and woods.
    Thanks for the good tip!

    Hi Tony, I've been watching your last videos, and I found them very helpful indeed.
    I would be very grateful if you could do a video about ball position for irons and fairway woods.
    I am a senior over 70 years old and was on the verge of giving up the game of golf altogether...
    Then, very recently, I decided to give the single plane swing a try.
    I know it's early days yet, but so far, I have to admit the signs are good, so I am going to stick with it and see how it goes...
    I'm looking forward to seeing more videos, and until then, cheerio for now.
    Best regards
    Albert from UK.

    Hey Geezer… enjoyed the video. As you know this directly addresses a fault you saw in my swing because I didn’t get the lower body engaged ahead of the downswing. • @GeezerTony
      @GeezerTony  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi Mike standing up un the downswing usually happens because you are creating space from the ball to compensate for early release of the wrists. Learn to move the lower body through before the clubhead reaches the ball and the early release, and the standing up problem should lesson.
      Thanks for watching!

      For some reason youtube is not allowing me to reply to some of your comments...so...about the left leg on the stop action...it is straightening through impact, just not straight yet in this picture. As for the impact position question...I think there is a divot in the air there so no, this is not the setup position. Go to Setup4impact.com to learn this stuff.

    I’ve been working with short swings to get into proper impact position. Drills, actually, with camera rolling to check if I achieve a good position. I will try adding your swing thought to the mix. Do you consciously turn your core to aid in accelerating your arms as you approach impact position?

    • @GeezerTony

      I would not drop the trail foot back, just feel the push back with the lead foot from where you normally have it. Keep the head in place.

    Hi Tony, what can you shoot aiming at the center of the green only for 18 holes.

    • @GeezerTony
      @GeezerTony  3 месяца назад

      Probably pretty much the same as normal, I play to the center of the green a lot! I like to aim to a spot that gives me the most room for error and still be fine if it goes exactly where I aim.

    I've been watching your videos and trying this method. What I find is that I tend to hit the ball fat and deep divots. I am more of a picker of the ball, so deep divots tend to hurt hands some.

    • @GeezerTony
      @GeezerTony  3 месяца назад

      Yes they do! I'm not sure why that is happening, it should be shallow through impact.

  • @woodenclogs5830
    @woodenclogs5830 5 месяцев назад

    So after you put your weight on the lead leg the push back is the move that initiates the downswing Tony?

    • @GeezerTony
      @GeezerTony  5 месяцев назад

      I would say as you are shifting the weight left, not after. Pushing back with the lead leg is helping you turn the lower body ahead of impact.

    • @GeezerTony
      @GeezerTony  3 месяца назад

      A Lot of people comment on that. I never knew I did it until several years ago when I first saw myself on video. It looks normal to me from address. There is no calculated reason I do that, I guess it's just where I hit it the best from. Kirk Junge says it accommodates shaft droop at impact. Look up shaft droop.
