Hi Tony, just found your channel and have subscribed. I’m a 76 year old geezer that’s been playing golf since I was about 10 years old. I’ve played a lot of golf by myself through the years, mainly to enjoy pressure free golf. When I worked, I had a high pressure job, so playing alone gave me a way to unwind and just enjoy the course. Now that I’ve been retired for several years, I have a regular group of friends that I play with 3 times a week. I still get some alone time on the course on those other days. We’re able to play golf year round here in South Carolina, so as long as my health holds up and the weather permits, I’ll be out there playing this great game!
Hi Steven, your story sounds familiar.....very much like mine! Thanks for watching, more geezer specific videos coming up in the future along with just some regular golf stuff!
I totally agree. I play for this amazing peace I get playing golf. I love getting out early, playing alone and just enjoying every problem to solve in golf.
I play golf alone quite a bit. I really enjoy the quietness. I hear the birds chirping and the wind in the trees. It’s great, probably therapeutic. I do gave golf buddies, but I have also love to play be myself.
I’m a 72-year-old new subscriber Tony. I also like to play alone and with others but going out in the evening is something I did as a teenager to walk nine holes at my home course and very often was doing it alone, so I’ve just started again at a new club and it feels great to be out and communing with nature and hitting the ball. Thanks for a great video!
Enjoyed the video Tony. I used to play more by myself and I always played better. But whenever I played with people I would get so tight and swing so hard trying to keep up with them, I would hit the ball all over the place. It took me a very long time to get over that problem. I just had to get with some experienced golfers who encouraged me and I finally got comfortable playing with other people. Now I can play both ways and enjoy being out on the course.
I love playing golf. I love walking a golf course. I don’t have a lot of friends who play golf, and at age 63, I don’t have any golfing friends who like to walk, so I play most of my golf as a single. No problem at all.
Mike I am fortunate to play at a 1934 Donald Ross course when they built courses for walking, not for selling houses. There we have a lot of "geezers" that love to walk so we don't have problems finding someone to walk with...but as you said, I'll do it alone no problem. Thanks for the comment!
Geezerman! Don’t beat up your videographer too bad, he did great! Many excellent points you made - I call it Zen golf, being in nature, very laser focused on what I’m doing, being immersed & present in each moment. Keep up the good work, love your videos. Hope to see you soon!
But once I wanted to thank you for the content you have shown, because there is a lot on the internet and a lot of the time it is not so clear and simple, I continue the great content you have shown!!!
I prefer to play golf alone for the exact same reasons as you have described, it's nice to be able to focus on your game without the noise/chatter or pressure of having others around. I'm really happy with my own company, and never feel the need to have people around, I also used to do a lot of hiking with friends, but always had a better experience when I went on my own. Peace and solitude bliss. Great content, subscribed😉
I have fully retire now and I play several time a week and keep up my farm. I'm in Wentworth NC and we like you had a lot of rain. I had 7.5 inches at my house. I played Thursday and was rained on and the course was really wet, but we made it through it. Great Videos!
Hi Tony, I just subscribed and I've been looking for a channel just like this. I'm 76 years old and have played most of my golf with other guys. I finally had enough of having to wait for the other golfers look for their ball and take a hundred practice swings as well chatter about stuff I'm not interested in. So, I started playing by myself and love it - its therapeutic, good exercise, and helps me clear my head. Keep making more videos they are helpful in affirming why I now play by myself.
Thanks Eric...it can be very peaceful. Understand, I don't always play alone, I still enjoy playing with my friends, but I do enjoy my "alone time" on the course too. It's kind of therapeutic! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Me too ; I am always playing golf alone . Start at 5.30 by using flash light to fine my golf ball . No need to wait for ather golfer. At about 8 o clock . Finish
I played this morning alone. Earphones, music, early.. Heaven. Very beneficial too, putting yourself in awkward spots around the green and finding the best way to tackle the shot.
I've only been playing for three months, usually with some friends & colleagues, and it's a lot of fun. But recently I took a trip with my clubs to a few places where I didn't have anyone to play with. And it was great, to focus on my practice and also just to focus on the scenery. What was also great was running into other solo players during a couple of those rounds, pairing up with them the rest of the way, and just enjoying meeting new people. With friends, alone, and with strangers are all good. No strong preference. I do prefer to hit the range alone, just so I can really focus on developing my technique.
Love this Tony, I play alone often even though I get to play with friends and swindles. I love the peace and tranquillity, the connection with the mighty Woburn course in the UK and its environment ; and absolutely no distractions or gallery to show off to playing the stupid shot aka the hero shot. I do at times try stuff out but this is all part of the fun. Finally I find it becomes a spiritual practice as I find my equilibrium 😊
I watch a lot of videos on golf and bowling and yours is top of the line. I enjoyed all of you great instrucion. Thank you foe this adventure and I plan on playing walking and alone. Keep them coming you have a new fan.😊
Thanks Donald, let's learn to play golf better here, and learn to swing our club better on Kirk Junge"s Channel! (Although I do have shot/swing instruction from time to time.)
I play roughly half my rounds solo and love it. I’m fortunate to belong to one of the best courses in my region that is both beautiful and challenging. The challenges come in the form of fast undulating greens and a variety of hazards. I enjoy trying different options for my approach shots to the green. For example I’ll play a 9i to the green, then try it again as a lower punched 8i. And with our tough greens (no such thing as a flat green on my course), its a great way to learn to read ‘the bend’ - I can try the same putt 2 or 3 times to help understand the dark art of green reading. I’m fortunate that I like to play very early on a Monday morning when everyone is still enjoying their first coffee over breakfast, so I usually have the course to myself for the first hour or so.
As usual, I enjoyed the video. You mentioned you were playing without warming up. If you haven’t already made one, I would be interested in seeing a video with commentary about how you warm up; clubs you warm up with, how long, putting green, etc. Thanks!
Well George, at 70, it's mostly about loosening up the body! At home I rarely hit balls before I play, I usually do the Miguel AngelJiminez routine to loosen up! If you haven't seen that, here's a link: ruclips.net/video/wb9zPoe3e60/видео.html
Man you can’t seem to catch a break with the weather! I had to smile watching this video. A walk and talk golf with Geezer Tony. My “alone” golf is in my pseudo sim and I think I talk to myself the whole time I am playing, so much so it’s become a habit. I had one of my better rounds this week playing with a friend. By the 6th hole green he just started laughing and said “Why do you always talk to yourself like that before your turn to hit”. Apparently I’ve got Geezer video syndrome and apparently it helps! Doing that, as you said, keeps me in the moment and not just walk up & swat it & expect good things to happen. ENJOYED THE VIDEO! I also liked the smattering of tips and reminders included along the way. I’m going to have to share this video with the guy I was playing golf with 😢
I love being able to play alone. I like to get as early a tee-time as possible and then getting out ahead of the crowd. I often can finish a round in well under 3 hours. Always play my best golf that way. (BTW, I am 65 YO and retired) Also, amazed that your 150 yard club is your 9 iron!!!!! Mine is 115 if I hit it solid. And yet your swing looks way slower than mine!!!
Thanks for watching Joseph! I learned this swing from Kirk Junge (Setup4Impact.com.) Then became an instructor ... It is simple to execute and easy to learn. Check it out!
Playing golf alone is one of my favorite pastimes. I love going out, in the evening, walking the local municipal courses. In addition to the low-impact exercise, it’s very relaxing and calming. I know people who can’t play alone and would never even consider it; I feel sorry for them.
I love playing by myself it's the best practice. I'll go real early 6:30AM WHY? Because you can get extra practice shots and puts knowing there isn't any one infront of or behind you. Only problem is the darn rooster tail from the damp grass. Also nice to see you like Ping I have your new driver and the 3wood aswell. There is alot of outside distractions as a golfer the main one is unfortunately the group you play with so it is nice to just not have that in your head while you try perfecting your form. I'll be looking for our next video.
Thanks Neil! I remember the rooster tail from when I worked second shift and played early before the maintenance crew even came out. Glad you enjoyed the video!
I enjoy walking, my goal is to be able to physically walk 18 by end of this yr. Just waiting on the weather to cool off. After walking and go back to cart seem like I don't play as well. Not that I play well anyway hehe! Walking seems to keep you at a good pace and gives you time to think between shots. Enjoyed the video!
JB I an the same about riding a cart. I play better walking and will walk as long as I am able to. I guess the next step may be a motorized pushcart? heh!
Yep I'm with you, as the game has become more available to more people I tend to look for quiet uncrowded venues. I have been playing as long as you so I fully get all this !
Great video! I like golfing by myself for 9 holes or 18 hole par 3 course. Today I played 18 hole by myself and except 2-3 holes did not tee the ball up. Hit some good shots but still need plenty of work. Still using Nitro ball and that is not the reason for my struggles.
When I get the chance to play alone, I'll usually play 3 or 4 balls. I may drop a ball in the fairway from an unusual spot and play from there, or drop one in a sand trap if I'm not already in one to do some practice. And then try some chip/pitch shots from varying distances with low or high ball flights, low or high spin, etc.
I enjoy playing on my own work is very stressful and l find when I’m on the golf course alone nothing else matters it is my time and only my time. Saying that l still do love playing golf with my wife and friends. And l still love playing with the best players in the club this when l personally play at my best.
Golf is a great social game but it's also a great way to escape from the real world and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature by yourself. I love playing 9 holes after work, being the last person on the course with just the rabbits and squirrels for company.
The peace and beauty of nature is what I enjoy. I used to play until is was so dark on the last couple of holes I had to listen I had to listen for my ball to hit the ground.
@@GeezerTonymaybe you can help me with something? I do play into dark sometimes, I'll be chipping or putting on a green till I can't see the hole but why do I putt so well in the dark or when I can barely see? 😂It sounds ridiculous but I genuinely have amazing distance control in the dark!
@@robertcourt8593 I think it means you are trying too hard to be perfect and in the "dark" you just let the subconscious part take control. Trust your mind to have you do what is needed without thinking too much about it. This is how I putt, especially on long putts, chips also. That's why I talk about an "area" rather than that itty bitty hole as a target.
All the time. As a new golfer I need to work on shots. That's something I can do a lot better on a golf course by myself. Plus that, I have a work schedule that allows it to happen.
I remember when I used to work second shift and got off at 11pm. Everybody left work and went to the bars and clubs. I went home to bed and got up early to play golf at daybreak....by myself.
Nice to do occasionally. By the courses are so booked up, there are always people who are looking to get on the course. So may not be a random or regular group, but you almost always end up playing with someone.
Great video, Tony. I agree with your great thoughts about what playing alone can offer. I also play alone about half of the time I go out. I agree with others that I play better alone. And I think the time I've played alone has helped me play better when I'm with others. The more I play alone, the more reinforcement I have to swing at "my" speed and hit the "sweet spot" more often. I'm less and less likely to watch my foursome partners and then swing too hard, spraying the ball all over the course. Keep up the videos!
I started playing 3 years ago at age 50. I learned a lot by playing alone during twilight hours. Loved being out their on the course that was pretty much empty. Now I'm good enough to play with friends and enjoy it even more.
Hi Jim, the last one day school for the year is this Sat Sep 28. You can sign up for it at Setup4Impact.com under the instruction tab at the top. If you can't make that date, contact me under the private lessons dropdown menu (then select my name) and I'm sure we can figure out some alternative. Glad you like the videos and thanks for watching! I look forward to hearing from you!
So many reasons to play alone . I constantly have people say that they wouldnt play alone 🤷🏻♂️ I find my scores are way better because my focus doesnt change , two and a half hours rather than four , waiting , trying to keep with big hitters or looking for other peoples balls , always being invited to play through , not being distracted and i like what you said about just taking in the scenery and feeling at peace , thats a solitary thing that some just dont get . I dont do competitions its not in my nature but i do enjoy company if they are on the same wavelength i am probably most comfortable on my own with the squirrells, deer , buzzards and pheasants 👌
I can't understand why anyone would want to play solo especially on a busy course, where there are no gaps in play you're unlikely to be let through and constantly have to wait to hit your tee shot and your approach to the green.
@@GeezerTonyhaving played at my local course on Tuesday there were 3 singles in sight, 1 behind and 2, 2/3 holes in front, come on guys it's a sociable competitive game, if you're just going out to practice go to a driving range.
My course is very busy , its rare for a solo player to be going out during the busy periods though isnt it , last knockings is the most likely time or first thing although first thing can be troublesome . When i first joined my club i would walk to the third tee and head off at first light , its a great time of day and i was just making the leap to 18 hole golf and a bit embarassed . I now book first slot and if others put themselves on the slot then thats fine , it usually means i get a round in before my missus wakes up 😊. Being held up is not just a solo player issue btw , during the busy times on my course you would be lucky to get round in 5 hrs . Golf etiquette isnt for everyone as important as a good natter ….
I’ve mostly played alone for years, I don’t enjoy being on a golf course for more than 3 hours so I usually avoid the weekends and four balls. It does affect your ability to play with a group though If you’ve spent alot of time on your own.
My point exactly! It shows you what you can really do...I think professionals are very good at doing what we do alone while they are playing with others. It's a different form of focus and it can be learned.
I play Club Golf in the UK. There is a "roll up" three times a week and it can be a mixed experience. All the guys are over 60, some enjoy the company, a few are intensely competitive and some can be bloody irritating. I get to play any day so always enjoy a couple of rounds alone.....relaxing, no pressure, hugely satisfying when you get in the groove. I got called "Billy no mates" once. Water off a ducks back.
I play once a week (not by choice, but such is life), and I prefer playing alone...I've found a day and time where the course is not crowded, and I can wave the fast playing twosome (I think they like the similar conditions) through, as especially in the heat of summer I do slow down just a fraction...my successes and failures are all my own, I can relax, and honestly, there only a few people I can tolerate on the golf course on a regular basis (I've gone from shy to downright anti-social, it's okay)...the only pitfall, no one saw my two hole in ones (I play the ball down, they happened), but i've witnessed two, so it goes...
Tony, new to your channel and appreciate encouragement to play alone. Thanks. Noticed you line up your club a little to the heel side. Is there a reason? I tend to hit off the toe a little.
I never knew I was doing this until recent years when I saw it on video and people started mentioning it. It's just where I hit it the most sold from and I've been doing it for so long that my brain has adjusted to it and it looks like the ball is in the middle of the club from my setup position. Kirk (Junge) says it allows for shaft droop at impact so that I don't have to make subconcious compensation. Look up "shaft droop......no, not that kind, LOL!
Your distances are pretty good. I'm 68 and compared to the distances you hit I am a short hitter. Usual physical issues hip operations and arthritic knee. Any tips or insights into how you hit it so far with a deceptively slow looking swing?
Alistair, it is learning to make good impact! This is why I adapted, and teach, Kirk Junge's Setup4Impact golf swing. 10 years ago I was ready to quit golf, now I play the best of my life at soon to be 70! Search Kirk Junge on youtube, and check out Setup4impact.com. He has an inexpensive online program that teaches you this swing through small, then gradually larger drills (swings) and you send videos of yourself doing these drills to him for him to critique. That's how I learned it because he was living in Germany at the time.
I'm a walk-in player(meaning no t time) and play alone nine holes walking as my exercise too; or encourage someone nearby/player who are getting ready- to play with me. Just like yesterday but he refused it.
Many people think walkers hold up play.....I say they don't. We are constantly waiting on people ahead in carts....so he may have though you might slow him up?
I will only walk the course when I play a round. I find I play better when I walk. I believe you loose less balls since you walk directly to your ball and do not loose sight of where you think the ball landed if you are in the rough. You lose perspective of your ball when have to take you eye of the ball landing ares when you drive a cart. You will also find a lot of balls in the rough which people in carts could not find. Good exercise with a quick walk or light jog.
I almost always walk..exceptions are courses that have half mile walks from green to tee...and if it gets too hot and humid (I'm talking 90 plus with high humidity). I always had a theory that one reason greens have so many unrepaired ball marks is due to carts. Players walk onto the green from a different angle than where the ball came in, and they don't see/forget about the ball mark.
I am going on 69 years old and a Lee County resident who typically plays Sanford Municipal, Quail, Lakes, and Keith Hills usually with two or three others, but have played many rounds solo, and, (as you say), I have always enjoyed it whenever I did. I guess I would describe my swing style as somewhere between "Set up for Impact" and "Stack and Tilt." I was always scared to death when playing alone that I would make my first hole-in-one or albatross - and thinking how I probably wouldn't even bother to tell anyone - since they probably wouldn't believe me anyway - which would (in my opinion) would make such a landmark a bit like kissin' your own sister. Personally, I think I prefer the friendly competition, the fellowship, the fist bumps for the good shots, and the celebrations among friends for the excellent shots. I am sure I have seen you at Sanford Municipal. Next time I see you, I will offer you a handshake from a new subscriber.
Weather reminds me of home. Washington State. I don't mind playing alone, but i dont have any golf buddies currently. Dad is dealing with cancer, and buds have lost interest. I ask to be partnered up with a short pairing typically.
I love to play by myself but its not easy if you play at a city municipal course or even a fancy Public course and i'm not going to pay $5,000 or more to join a country club because my wife would disown me. have found that small Town municipal courses, especially 9 holers are good places to go.
The beauty of this game is that you can play on your own. I love and enjoy being in the company of nature. The calmness and solitude are most enjoyable. when I play alone.
I noticed when you played 9 iron , it didn’t look as though the trajectory that off a true nine iron shot it looked too low I hit it about 120 but very high to hold the greens. Not a criticism just a talking point. I’ve watched your video definitely be subscribing enjoyed it a lot thank you.
Hi Thomas, good observation! Firstly, I do hit it a bit lower than most other players of my handicap, I always have. Now I have "loft jacked" irons but actually hit them higher than I ever have. Mostly I think it is the tracer, possibly the height of my camera, I'm not sure but it doesn't look the same as when I watch the ball when playing. Never had a problem holding greens though. The number on the club doesn't really matter as long as we have the right one for the shot at hand!
@@GeezerTony Thank you for your reply. You have a great presenting style easy and relaxed. Lots of presenters are over enthusiastic it does get rather tiresome.
I like people but I really enjoy golfing alone. I thought it was odd that I enjoyed golfing alone. I am sick.I enjoy playing in the rain and cold weather🤣😂As long as it is not raining too hard and too windy.
LOL I can live with alone and maybe a bit of rain....but I hate the cold! Mostly because my body doesn't move well in the cold....therefore I pretty much don't play if it's under 50 F.
Why does it look like your setup is always towards the heal of the club? Is it an optical illusion with the camera angle or is that what is recommended with the setup 4 impact style?
Hi Thomas....I get a lot of comments about that! No reason, only that it's where I hit it the best from. It's not part of S4I nor do I teach people to do it! Kirk says it is to accommodate the shaft droop that happens when we make impact.
I also enjoy playing alone. The course right by my house is almost hostile towards people playing alone, and don't even think about only playing 9. It's not a fancy place, just an average, at best puplic course.
I’m 40 and I prefer to play alone. I go to my local course every Saturday and Sunday morning at 6 AM and get a round in. There’s not a soul on the course.
This reminds me of a joke! Two old geezers get together that haven't seen each other in years. Bob says to Bill, hey do you still play golf? Bill says NO, I had to quit because my eyesight got so bad I can't see where my ball went any more. Bob says, my eyesight is great! I can go with you and watch the ball when you hit! So off they go to the course and Bill smacks it off the first tee. He looks at Bob and asks, did you see where it went? Bob says yep, I saw it! Bill asks, well where is is? Bob replies.."I can't remember!"
Do not use the dark matte red balls when are are playing alone and the sun is directly in your eyes. You can not see the ball when you tee off and the dark red balls are hard to find on the fairway or in the rough.
Although sometimes there is no other option, golf alone isn’t as much fun. Philosophically we as modern humans have harder times getting along with our fellow man. We aren’t as trusting of our neighbours . My advice to any golf enthusiast join a league or country club or just find a guy or two and play regularly, after work or in the morning. Singles on golf course screw up the tee sheet, learn to accept playing with others.
In my area they don't give you a tee time (put you on the tee sheet) as a single. You show up at th4e course and it's not busy so you just go out on your own. Some of us play to find what we have within ourselves, others play to socialize. Both are fine...it's not like I always play alone, it's just another facet of my golf. Thanks for the comment!
Your a!one time is practice time. Hit a bad shot, drop a ball and prove to yourself you can do this. Just took a nine on the last hole, took a forty five on the round. Did not have my alone time to practice. Good luck to all.
How can you possibly become a better golfer playing alone. You must just be playing for fun and exercise golf clubs would die with people like you if there is no competitions whats the point golf is a competitive sport you're score in meaningless who checks your not cheating
The competition is within, not against others. Also if you don't have someone to verify your score, just don't post it. As for cheating, people do that all day even when playing with others. When you do that and post a score, you are only making it tougher on yourself when you play in anything that uses your handicap. Lastly, I never said I always play alone. Also it's "your" not "youre" and you paragraph would be easier to understand if you used some punctuation. some punctuation and made actual sentences/

Exactly! All that sounds very familiar! Thanks for watching!
I enjoy playing by myself from time to time!
I watch a lot of videos on golf and bowling and yours is top of the line. I enjoyed all of you great instrucion. Thank you foe this adventure and I plan on playing walking and alone. Keep them coming you have a new fan.😊
Thanks Ron, I really enjoy making the videos and sharing!
Good video 👍 Tony great insight into how to play a round of golf ⛳
Sounds very peaceful!
If you haven't seen that, here's a link:
ruclips.net/video/wb9zPoe3e60/видео.html
Good exercise. Good head clearing and stress reduction.
Yes! Exactly!
I’m going to have to share this video with the guy I was playing golf with 😢
Glad you liked it! My goal with the channel is to help people learn to play golf better....almost nobody teaches that.
I also like playing alone for the same reasons. It does remove the stress of pushing yourself to hit shots that may not be in my bag.
Exactly!
Playing golf alone is one of my favorite pastimes. I love going out, in the evening, walking the local municipal courses. In addition to the low-impact exercise, it’s very relaxing and calming. I know people who can’t play alone and would never even consider it; I feel sorry for them.
Me too, but I do understand some people just don't like being alone. I don't mind it at all!
True, with the changes in attitude from today's society, public golf isn't what it used to be!
Thanks for watching!
It's freedom to try stuff you can't do when playing with others!
Thanks for watching!
I enjoy playing on my own work is very stressful and l find when I’m on the golf course alone nothing else matters it is my time and only my time. Saying that l still do love playing golf with my wife and friends. And l still love playing with the best players in the club this when l personally play at my best.
Yes, I like doing both!
@GeezerTony thanks, it definitely correlates with what I think about it. It's so hard not to try or consciously over think it though.
Thanks Michael, glad you enjoyed it!
I started playing 3 years ago at age 50. I learned a lot by playing alone during twilight hours. Loved being out their on the course that was pretty much empty. Now I'm good enough to play with friends and enjoy it even more.
Just found your channel. Subbed, from Crystal River.
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks Tony. I’m new to your videos and am really enjoying them. I would like to come to one of your one day schools in Sanford. How do I sign up?
Hi Jim, the last one day school for the year is this Sat Sep 28. You can sign up for it at Setup4Impact.com under the instruction tab at the top.
If you can't make that date, contact me under the private lessons dropdown menu (then select my name) and I'm sure we can figure out some alternative.
Glad you like the videos and thanks for watching!
I look forward to hearing from you!
So many reasons to play alone .
I constantly have people say that they wouldnt play alone 🤷🏻♂️
I find my scores are way better because my focus doesnt change , two and a half hours rather than four , waiting , trying to keep with big hitters or looking for other peoples balls , always being invited to play through , not being distracted and i like what you said about just taking in the scenery and feeling at peace , thats a solitary thing that some just dont get .
I dont do competitions its not in my nature but i do enjoy company if they are on the same wavelength i am probably most comfortable on my own with the squirrells, deer , buzzards and pheasants 👌
All this and more! It's like taking a walk and doing something fun along the way!
I can't understand why anyone would want to play solo especially on a busy course, where there are no gaps in play you're unlikely to be let through and constantly have to wait to hit your tee shot and your approach to the green.
@@paulrounding5260 No, not on a busy course! Too much aggravation for the exact reasons you say.
Agreed...more good reasons! Thanks for watching!
Yes i love playing golf alone better then with other people imo
I golf alone a lot. It is usually when I try shots not normally tried.
It is a good time to find out what you can and cannot do, should and should not try when playing with others!
I play alone a couple of times a week. Probably play my best golf with no distractions.
My point exactly! It shows you what you can really do...I think professionals are very good at doing what we do alone while they are playing with others. It's a different form of focus and it can be learned.
Playing alone is great at times. You can focus on your game, take your time on each stroke.
I agree 100% ....I like it...sometimes!
Yeah, who cares? Make yourself happy first!
Thanks for watching!
Yes and fg love it
Do it frequently; it’s so much more relaxing when you couldn’t go at your own pace and with your own thoughts.
I almost always play golf alone. I don’t understand why people won’t play alone.😊
I love golfing alone. I'll play with a handful of clubs and run between shots. Golf practice, exercise...win win
I play early AM and usually have the course to myself....live it serene is right
I don't run, but I'm always out of breath when I'm hitting....more on that in the next video! Thanks for watching!
@@GeezerTony Ha. . Thanks for the thoughtful response. I’m going to try it. Look forward to more of your simple and honest content.
Thanks Wayne, I have probably seen you there too! I'm not saying I prefer playing alone, but I certainly don't mind it at all!
Weather reminds me of home. Washington State. I don't mind playing alone, but i dont have any golf buddies currently. Dad is dealing with cancer, and buds have lost interest. I ask to be partnered up with a short pairing typically.
For focus, I block everything out when it's time to swing. I never ride in a cart with anybody. Ever!!
So sorry to hear about your dad, I hope he recovers well.
the cracking edit at 1:30 lolll
I love to play by myself but its not easy if you play at a city municipal course or even a fancy Public course and i'm not going to pay $5,000 or more to join a country club because my wife would disown me. have found that small Town municipal courses, especially 9 holers are good places to go.
At least you know you will have good company. 😊
Yep, if you love yourself! haha
The beauty of this game is that you can play on your own. I love and enjoy being in the company of nature. The calmness and solitude are most enjoyable. when I play alone.
I love that too! Thanks for watching!
@@GeezerTony
Thank you for your reply. You have a great presenting style easy and relaxed. Lots of presenters are over enthusiastic it does get rather tiresome.
Better Practice in Golf shots/situations than on a Range just hitting balls, or putting greens
I agree with that! The range is not realistic, and rather boring.
I like to play two balls when I play alone, one white, one yellow. I compete against myself. It can be good practice.
I've done that too...or play scramble with 2 balls and see what your potential is!
That's a shame...why would they care?
I’m 40 and I prefer to play alone.
I go to my local course every Saturday and Sunday morning at 6 AM and get a round in. There’s not a soul on the course.
I noticed your 3 wood and driver are set up near the heel. Your irons look lined up center face. Could you explain why?
There's no specific reason...it's just where I hit it best from. Nothing I would teach anyone to do.
I like playing by myself, but it sucks when you don’t see your tee shot!
@@tj-fk4vw I can't see the red ones even while they are in the air...or blue of any darker color. White or yellow are fine though!
I absolutely prefer to play alone period.
I don't prefer it, but I welcome it when I get the chance!
Why is there no one else on this course?!!!
Hi Dan, probably because it was later afternoon and forecast to rain (which it did). Usually it is very crowded no matter the day or time!
3 times a week @ dawn I am 1st off . bye #6 hole i am thanking the lord for my blessings. in seeing the sun rise comeing up. 'o' my . thank you lord.
Hallelujah!
I love to play by my self and walking for sure, I pick my music to Bluetooth speaker, not to loud. And I can cheat.
Cool John, I think casual golf is about whatever makes one happy!
playing single plane swing interesting
Yes, single plane is the way to go! I'm an instructor for Setup 4 Impact, which is single plane.
Thanks for watching!
This guy can play on the Old Fart Tour!
If there was one! LOL Thanks for watching!
Your a!one time is practice time.
Hit a bad shot, drop a ball and prove to yourself you can do this.
Just took a nine on the last hole, took a forty five on the round.
Did not have my alone time to practice.
Good luck to all.
i lose more balls playing alone
Do you have trouble seeing them?
Nothing's worse than people talking while your taking a shot
For me worse than talking is moving while in your view. Talking is bad too though.
