I wish! I was so much more rational, logical, and calm as a kid, than my kids. I ended up with loud, emotional, manipulative, and reckless kids with impulses more like my mother's. Luckily they were infants at manipulation compared to my mom and I could just laugh it off. They had to learn to be honest, empathetic, analytical, and self-regulating with me as a mom, ha ha, so it all worked out.

I love the Grandma power. My granddaughter called me once to tell me about her first lost tooth. Her (single) Dad had it on speaker phone and was listening. We talked about the tooth fairie and the money she'll get. Her joy turned to sadness when she said, "But my Daddy says the tooth fairie pays in pennies!" I said, (loud enough fo him to hear), "Oh NO, Chloe. Your Daddy doesn't know what he's talking about. In fact, the tooth fairie is going to pay you FIVE DOLLARS!" In the background I heard, "GIVE ME THE PHONE CHLOE; GIVE ME THE PHONE! I NEED TO TALK TO NANNIE!"

@@kwh1142 For me, with my family, it was never about winning or losing. It was about learning and refinement. As a parent my kids challenged me, it was no big deal. It's a part of growing up. Kids need practice challenging people and a parent can provide a safe space to do that. That way kids learn how to challenge things in a respectful, coherent way, and how to think on their feet, how to question what they're told. They learn how to analyze a situation. Besides, if my ideas, conduct, or decisions really can't stand the scrutiny maybe they need to be reconsidered or reengineered.

"X!" I said. He looked me in the eye--
"How do you DO that??!" he cried. Genuinely unsure, I asked him what he meant. "The MOM LOOK!" he said.

He could sense you doing wrong from miles away. My sister became both a 5th grade teacher and a mom. Her superpowers are both amazing and frightening. She taught both her children when they were in 5th grade. When some in the district questioned whether she could fairly teach her own children the school superintendent, who had known us all since we were children, replied "No. But God have mercy on her poor children".

@@yusamac2053 love it!!!! Grandmas always have that hard candy..... mints, fruit flavored stuff. I'd have to op for the traditional junior mints.

This was AMAZING! and for some girly mom reason I teared up when you said "because I'm your mom and I said so." Maybe because moms should be considered super heros. Anyway, it was amazingly powerful for me. And grandma at the end was so true and hilarious 🤣

I really cracked up at the end. My mama brought a box of sweet potatoes from the produce stand for me and a sucker for my daughter just this afternoon.

    I need the sequel ya'll!
I would gladly pay money to see this in a theater! Every bit of this Southern Mom trailer is the truth. This happened to me after I had my son.
Every Southern Mom and Grandma is laughing so hard they choked on their sweet tea after watching this, I know I did.
