When you go camping in the County park beaches in the Hawaiian Islands, there are campers from all over the globe, but on the weekends, the locals throw huge luaus: think roast pig and all the fixings, including opihi, which is like a small clam from my recollection. Anyway, the Hawaiians having the parties would often include me and my family, standing over us, saying that we have to eat until we can't lift our arm up!! Sounds like the Polynesian version of Memaw's kitchen!:)

Take her grocery shopping, except YOU pay the bill. Then take her and those groceries to HER HOUSE and ask her to help you fix y'all some supper. Memaw gets groceries and your company, and you get Memaw's cooking and company. All of my Memaws and Grannys have gone on ahead and what I would not give for just one more table full of Grandma's pot roast (or any other meal she was famous for back in the day.)

You've got to be dedicated to be a real southern cook!!!!! 17 steps and we're almost there!😫Oh the memories of all the meals and desserts I've cooked, baked, fried, and any other way! I love it but it is labor. Cooking is very physical, but also psychological. Having your mind and body working together is a plus. I have found it to be excellent therapy.😊💞

After waiting almost 15 minutes for the drinks, I had to go inside where they actually started on them after I asked where they were. All this time our food and fries were getting cold since we were taking them home. Then, to top it off, when we got home, we discovered that we only got one of the two chicken noodle soup bowls that we had ordered. I checked the receipt and we were charged for two, but only received one. Have had no other problems in the past, this time was one of the worst fails for takeout food we've had.

I’m sure they would have promptly replaced it with fresh hot stuff right them, & probably given you free stuff or something! They’re really good about that when something happens. Bear Bryant did a commercial for the phone company where he was supposed to look at the camera and say "Call your Mama". While filming, he added "I sure wish I could call mine". They left that in and that's how we got that old commercial. Anybody remember that?

I remember him saying "Have you called yo mama today? I sure wish I could call mine". It was poignant. They quit airing the commercial after he died. I've heard it's in the Bear Bryant museum.
The coach encouraged his players to call their mamas & maintain the family relationship.
