Indeed, you make it all seem so simple, and so easy, that most anyone can do it. I believe I might even give this a try... even at 75 years of age..!! 👍👍 Blessings...
I watched your video in quiet contemplation and observed magic developing. The ease and simplicity with which you presented this made me feel confident that I could give this a go. I need to think about it, watch it again and just do it. Thank you
Karen, beautiful !!!!! As always, I learned so much. Giving these "mini" lessons so freely, tells me so much about the wonderful person you are! I APPRECIATE YOU!
Love the way you talk through your paintings. Precise and to the point without too much rambling. (Patience sadly is not one of my virtues at times). I also love how you call out when something goes awry a bit and show us how to make corrections without freaking out. Thank you so much for everything you do.
I loooove it, it looks so beautiful and charming. For sure I'll try it asap. Thank you dear Karen for all your work and showing us how to paint lovely paintings. I appreciate it sooo much. 🥰🤗💞❣ You are fantastic ❣❣
Thank you! Another great tutorial! My husband and I painted this tonight and we didn't have a sponge so he suggested we use small broccoli crowns for the tree...Lol, they turned out pretty good! He said it was his favorite watercolor he's done so far.
What a beautiful tutorial! A gorgeous landscape with wonderful techniques to achieve variety and interest. Thank you so much for showing how a landscape can be achieved!
Brilliant tutorial Karen calmingly explains how you're achieving this lovely painting, absolutely enjoyable video inspiring others how you've planned out a simple loose watercolour paints salt and your faithful splattering. Greatly appreciating your inspiration stay safe and healthy
Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. I love painting poppies & your step by step tutorial was just what I needed to get painting again. Your art inspires me.
I love all your videos! This one is beautiful and I want to try it. I’m a retired teacher and learning to paint is one of my goals. You’re such a good teacher! Thanks for another great video! ❤
I love this Karen, you have done some really beautiful paintings on your channel. I will give this a go and try my best to keep it loose, I have a tendency to overwork my paintings so looking forward to this one.
Just wonderful Karen. Even without having the full tutorial on this one (although I recommend your Patreon channel to everyone 😁) you make it possible for us to create a beautiful summer scene as only you can do. May I also say, you are looking amazing and my guess is that you have somehow found the elusive fountain of youth. Please share 😂.
Thank you! So pleased you liked this one! Thank you for the compliment! I think it was the calm before the storm... I was ill for 3 weeks after filming the video!! 😂
@@KarenRiceArt Oh Karen, I am so sorry to hear that you were ill for such a prolonged time. I really hope you are fully over it now and back to your beautiful, bubbly self. Look after yourself. It is hard to feel great in such hot weather. I imagine you are getting the same in the UK as we are here in Ireland. I am not even able to paint because the water is drying up on the page as soon as I lay it down 😪
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I am so pleased that you enjoyed this tutorial. For more exclusive and in-depth tutorials why not think about joining my Patreon membership. www.patreon.com/karenriceart
Love it! I never had good luck with salt no matter which type I try.. I guess my paper is either too wet or too dry!? Mine turned out pretty except for the salt part ;)
I am glad yours turned out well! Sometimes salt does not work well on different types of paper, could be worth experimenting... check out my salt video I published here:ruclips.net/video/1Hs9mBrwj5w/видео.html
Love your tutorial, thank you so much. What sketch book do you use please as I like the idea of keeping all the painting together but not sure which to buy for good quality watercolour sketchbook.
This is beautiful I cant wait to try this one, poppies are my favourite. I also have a materials question regarding paint palette setup.. I have recently purchased a palette just like the one in this video and as I have lots of colours now I'm wondering if you have any advice about which are the common colours to choose to keep setup in the pallete? Then I can use not so common colours as and when I need them in a separate palette.. and is there a correct or easy order of putting them in to remember which colour is which? Sorry so many questions!! Thank you
Thanks so much Leanne, poppies are one of my favourites also! Thank you for your question regarding my palette set up...Firstly ignore my palette in the video, I swap the pans around all of the time, depending on what I am painting for RUclips. I have several palettes that I use and I tend to put the yellows together, then reds, blues, browns and greys ... I try to order them in cool to warm, so Lemon Yellow then Cadmium Yellow etc... I hope that makes sense. It could make for an interesting tutorial! Thanks again Leanne :)
Oh that's helpful thank you, I have some spare time this afternoon so I think I'll try and arrange it like that. I think having a cool and warm colour option next eachother may help with my painting too, because I forget to think in that way so it may encourage me too. Yeah I think that would make a really good tips tutorial I'll watch out for it just incase. Im reading a book by Jane Betteridge at the moment all about watercolour & mixed media I'm loving it, shes very inspiring like yourself, and she mentions something called liquid watercolour ive never tried before or seen anyone else use so that could be another possible idea for a tutorial. Thanks again 😁
Thank you Karen. Great tutorial and I just love your enthusiasm. I hope this isn’t the rookiest of rookie questions, but how do you manage your palette? Do you always use freshly squeezed paint from the tube?
Hi Karen, This is so beautiful! My salt didn't make the nice crystals like yours did. I've tried various types of salt, different paints, and I just don't get these results. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for your tutorial. I want to know mor about the salt effect. I have tried many times before but couldn't get a good effect as yours. Is there any special technique for that?
This is so beautiful Karen! I absolutely adore this one. Summer days ☀️❤️ I alway come back to your tutorials - they’re the best x
Thanks so much Joanne, really pleased you like my tutorials! 😊
Thank you for all your help. Please continue with your videos. USA
Thank you, I will 😊
I like your idea of using a sketchbook to get ideas when out. Some artists have said sketchbooks are a waste of time, they are wrong
Indeed, you make it all seem so simple, and so easy, that most anyone can do it.
