1. Don't throw lazy jabs walking within range 2. Go with basic footwork: in and out movement (be quick) 3. Strike with a decent amount of power (the slow/light punches are for shadow boxing) 4. Make some noise / exhale when you hit the bag
Really glad to see you checked out the videos people sent you and are going to make the video... I thought you had forgotten about us. Best wishes for your grandmother.
Oh my god 100%. I have been doing _exactly_ this. Double jab with no power, and then have a looping right hand clip me during sparring. I feel like a lot of power boxing/power kickboxing classes have you use that double jab thing like this on the bag and I can see now it's developed a bad habit that I've been using in sparring. I thought it was generating pressure on my opponent, when all it's doing is giving them my timing and a way to counter me hard. Great tips.
One of the things my kickboxing coach does is to make sure he can always hear us breath out when we throw strikes or take body shots. I think that was one thing i did in the video I submitted😂 but can’t wait to correct the other stuff
Thanks for these. Started muay thai with legend Jongsanan and I have a LOT to learn. Hardest so far is keeping muay thai stance and resetting properly. Also stepping to the side to land kicks and knees and turning into it and throwing arms. Also straightening your hand when you throw an elbow.
Now I think people here should start paying Gabriel for the lessons lol .. he's taking on the role as instructor very seriously if you do like him follow along it's pretty much like being in a beginner class with 35 students,, exempt he can't correct you on the spot
Hey Gabriel, just a quick question. Should fighters lift weights, and if so, could you recommend a lifting routine? I’m not really interested in putting on mass, but I keep getting out muscled in the clinch and I feel it’s the strength I’m lacking. Lastly, would calisthenics be a better alternative to weights for fighters? Thanks so much for all the great content!
I am interested in your visualization methods. I struggle with it. For example I know I should practice moving after punching so I do that when doing bag work or shadow boxing. However I am not actually visualizing an opponent. I think my practice would be more effective if I did but it doesn't happen naturally for me. Sparring a lot of different people is the only way I get used to different types of opponents but that's not always available.
Quick question : previously you said you should strike with top 2 knuckles. But does that depend on fist position? For instance horizontal fists, it seems that the first 2 knuckles would be appropriate to use. But with vertical fists, it seems that the bottom 3 knuckles land because the top index knuckle is indented. Your thoughts? Thank you!
Is it too late to send in my footage? I would love some critique from you, been working the heavybag for a few years almost everyday and it feels like im kinda stuck. love the videos, you're the man!
Hi Gabriel huge fan of your work, I wonder if you could do a video on how to return a hook, so what I mean is once you’ve landed a hook should it all be a circular motion back to your guard are should it be the reversed of the motion you have thrown if that makes any sense
Hey mate. Basicly Do what feels best for you, I've had people tell me reverse the motion but personally i feel looping it back is easier ans faster. Roy jones jr does it too. Try both out and see how it feels! sorry that this is a dumb answer.

Exactly! It is like most trainers want to save some secrets for them self.
This is the absolute best channel ive seen for young fighters

this man has helped me so tremendously, thank you man!
It's the best kiai explanation Ive ever seen. :)
People throw light strikes to the bag due to lack of conditioning. Throwing nothing but heavy strikes is exhausting unless you have phenomenal cardio.
Best coach on RUclips.
Thank you, instructor!

I noticed if I don’t make noice or breath out I get light headed lol
My coach is really big on vocally breathing out too
Thank you for your valuable knowledge chef!

Hello Gabriel! I really like your chanel. Thx a lot for the great content. Could you do a vid about how to use the double end bag?

Hey Gabriel could you do a video on creating the perfect job, keeping your hand open until the point of contact!
Great video sir. Thanks

It’s preferential to hit with the top 2 knuckles because they are much stronger than the bottom two.
I know this is late, but look at Kevin Lee's recent stuff for source. Vertical fist, bottom 3 knucks. It's about keeping the wrist in line.
Exhale on hit. It does make a huge difference. Takes time for the confidence to make noise but it's worth it
The 3 dislikes are from people that make these noises when they punch 4:51
Do another bag workout critique video? Hoping you would take a look at mine :) great stuff btw
Who would you say wins you vs Francis
I'm just watching your fight with Oblonsky dude, damn your style is enjoyable to watch 👍
Thanks
Thank you so much, God Bless.
Thank you very much

great video
Im one of those annoying ctz noise guys, you know that exhale with teeth closed, it helps so much but I know it can be annoying to hear

You return it as fast as possible stupid ass question to ask
@@mikeoxmaul138 read the question again idiot, obvs you return it as fast as possible. I’m asking what motion should you return it in
@@MrWestGW yeah and what way does you’re pea head brain think is the fastest ? Looping it back in a hook or pulling it straight back

Even in shadow boxing, I make noises. Wonder if anyone shouts "oohee!" for fun.
Great videos. The sound level is a bit too low. If you could do something about it that would be great.

Nice new hairstyle champ lol
TLDR hit with power
Road to 100k subs🥳
nice shorts on the bob
My punching bag are my sparring partners that's it 😂
Genuine question: Why do people prefer the swinging bags over the stationary, bending ones? No human moves like the former.
You can hit the hanging ones harder plus they where generally setup so you could move around them as well.
Just timing and movement man
To learn to control the bag
I scream like Canelo when I hit the bag
