@@HwangInhoBooNam That's why they had such insane deflector shields the only way around which is to fly inside the ship. Basically they got lucky enough that Anakin was able to fly inside while the doors were still open, if they were closed they would have been screwed.
Lucrehulks are the best ship in Star Wars. If I could ever manage it in an RPG, my party would have a Lucrehulk as their mobile base. The moment I saw it in Episode 1 as a kid, I wanted one and still do as an adult xD
Had no idea these were so huge. Makes sense given the size of the Naboo attack forces, but I just never realized their true size. Thanks for another great vid!
You forgot one of the coolest features. Later models could detach the cores and land them on planets. Providing an instant heavily defended ground base. The cores could also be sent back into orbit and reconnect with the arm rings of the Lucrehulk or other Trade Federation/Separatist ships using special docking clamps.
Best part of the Cross Sections book. insane how organized they are. The thought of having such a massive robot army inside a huge spacecraft was always awesome.
@@Halfscreen It's even cooler when you see it's based on the harbor of ancient Carthage, so its design is a subtle hint as to how things are going to go with the Republic
If the Lucrehulk were to be completely gutted and repurposed as a mass civil transport or a cruise ship for vacations, how many people could it hold? I mean like a complete retrofit where multiple decks would be built in the hangers.
@@gfgffdd but please remember that the weight and mass capacity are meaningless in space. I mean estimating cubic space... I thought somewhere I read an Imperial Star Destroyer was converted to a cruise ship. Do you figure the a Lucrehulk could have even more passengers?🤔
The Feddies would later remove the B1s' dependancy on the signal before the Clone Wars. You know, I never realised just how much larger these things were than regular Imperial-class Star Destroyers.
I love the deep dive and explanation you went through with a well known ship that has hardly been given enough spotlight Not to sound cynical, but this Lucrehulk variant is actually the control ship not the battleship 😅
Great animation as always, however I feel that you need to work on your script, for example some sentences were repeated word to word without any change in the vid.
What you fail to realize about that ship you forgot to tell people that that ball in the middle of that round spaceship donut was detached to go to the planet..
The Lucrehulk is a pretty damn formidable carrier. And at times, frightening. Especially in Star Wars Republic Commando when a Lucrehulk exits hyperspace to attempt take over the RAS Prosecutor.
Great video one of my favorite ships, now I could be wrong but doesn’t the sphere detach? I believe some were destroyed on the battle of geonosis as they took off.
That ship makes little sense. Le me explain - nice plans, btw., the critique is not on them. First, the hangars left and right - your plans miss (and there must have been) BRUTALLY large storage areas below the hangar. Above and below is basically empty space and there is no explanation. But my main complaint is the center sphere. Given that the droids are basically robots with remote control, with the brain being in the carrier ship (not really a battleship but a droid carrier) - the carrier has to be able to control a LOT more than the 250.000k (rough) droids it has on board. Ok, great. THAT IS A LOT OF COMPUTER CAPACITY. And that is unused in a cargo configuration. But it STILL costs money. For a cargo ship, the droid "brain" can be a LOT smaller. Well, if so - what is the center sphere being used for then? It wwould have made more sense to have additionla droid control centers somewhere in the hangar section - and then i.e. the reactor in the center of the spere with.... cabins around. Transporting people. Because as it is now, this is not dual use and there is NO secondary use for the space in a civilian transport configuration and especially not the trade configuration would have this gigantic (unused) droid controller in every hulk that is transporting goods all the time.
Pointing the antennas directly at solid objects in their line of sight is bad engineering design. Clouds are bad enough at blocking signals, solid objects deflects them too.
From a technical viewpoint the design was dumb. The hangar bay entrances facing each other along with ball and ring make no sense. Even as a cargo ship it is a silly design. The bays set up that way severely inhibit the loading of outsized cargo.
the Lucrehulk is probably one of the best carriers designs in star wars hands down insane fighter capacity backed up by a decent secondary armament
Best carrier design? It has more weak spots than an imperial destroyer

Yea, 2 hangar entrances facing each other is totally not the most horrible design of all times. /s

Yeah. I should have animated the separation part, would have been a nice addition.
Do you mean that ability they showed in the Movie 🎬? You know it was called The Clone Wars.
And since we are on that Subject seems a little unnecessary for it to detach.

Awesome vid! I just got a titanium model of this one so I was watching along as I peered at the parts on my own mini battleship lol
Must be nice to have titanium made Lucrehulk.

guessing like many you’re eagerly waiting for that candle to be lit?
My favorite ship from the clone wars era
Excellent breakdown video as always!
Thanks for watching
Fantastic video!!! U have done a great job.
Thank you very much!
I like how the design seems to have been inspired by the Great Harbour of Carthage.
I think I'm the only one that saw this and knows the reference. 😕
Indeed
The harbor of Carthege also inspired the design of Bentusi ships in the Homeworld video game franchise.
Makes sense, since after the clone wars, the resulting damage to the trade federation and others “salted” their industry and culture…

I appreciate that!
Another amazing video can you do more of the cis ship
Thank for watching as usual Mr. H.
Excellent job! We would like to see a video about the Providence-class Separatist Dreadnought, like the Invisible Hand.
I will look into it, though I don't know much about the Providence-class.
W video love these
I always wondered how Qui-Gon and Obi Wan got from the outer hangar to the command tower so quickly.

Starship is in a lot of his videos. I'm a huge SpaceX fan myself! So happy every time I see it.
Also, booster 7 rolled out to the pad today, let's GO

About 6-7 days for Star Wars, for Star Trek, about 8-12 days.

What was the reactor that Anakin destroyed on the droid control ship?
A plot reactor. Anyways, he fired torpedoes into the starboard reactor which was for some reason open to the docking bay.

Hi Half, I'm saving Your F35 Video 📹 after a little fiction catch-up. I'm not mad at this ship. Except for its lack of child-proof safety features.
At 500kph, and the average distance between average planets in an average solar system,....... you'd be waiting years for your cargo.
Technically, it runs at two speed. Atmospherics and Megalight (Lightspeed).
