- Bulgaria are the new Olympic champions after giving two flawless performances in the rhythmic gymnastics group-all around finals today at Ariake Gymnastics Centre at Tokyo 2020. Their ball routine topped the scoreboard followed up by their stunning 3 Hoops + 2 Pairs Of Clubs exercise which earned them a combined score of 92.100.
The quintet - Simona Dyankova, Stefani Kiryakova, Madlen Radukanova, Laura Tratets, Erika Zafirova - have delivered Bulgaria's first ever-gold in rhythmic gymnastics toppling pre-favourites ROC. ROC, who won five consecutive Olympic gold medals between 2000 to 2016, trailed the new champions by 1.4 points (90.700 final score), and now settle for silver. Meanwhile, Italy have won bronze - their third Olympic medal in rhythmic gymnastics after clinching silver at Athens 2004, and bronze at London 2012.

why is nobody talking about the chinese group like they're so great, first international competition they did after 2 years and they came in 4th. queens
The last time, the Chinese rhythmic gymnastics team won an international medal was at the 2008 Beijing Olympic games where they won a silver medal at the group competition.

Bulgaria was so far and away the best. The had the best and most cohesive routines and cleanest execution. So well deserved gold. Bravo! Loved seeing the Bulgarians and Italians stanning for each other. ❤️❤️❤️ And what a sweet moment to see Simona step forward to give all her teammates their medals. 😭😭😭

@@ztoical And now the team is retiring, they were going to compete at the 2021 world championship of rhythmic gymnastics in Kitakyushu, Japan but one of the gymnasts injured her back couldn't find a replacement and they didn't compete.
@@bibianaguadalupeislasherre9880 they could find a replacement, but they aren't allowed to use one. You have to either have 5 gymnast and have them all do both routines or have 6 gymnasts, 4 out of which play in both routines and the other two take part in one each.
Who else is rewatching while waiting for the RG in Paris? I can't wait any longer 🙈

Finally, justice for Bulgaria. These girls are the best team for years, but due to lack of luck and mostly unfair judgements, they haven't received what they deserve. And they deserve only gold. Bulgarian team demonstrated supremacy, and pity they havent had their gold medals as of absolute world champions.
I am so happy for the Bulgarian girls! They deserved this gold medal! True champions. There is something so special about the spirit of their team to go along with their amazing routines and wonderful coaches!
Also, what about their sincere happiness for the Italian team when they won their bronze medal? What a beautiful moment was that, showing pure hearts and great sportsmanship! True champions celebrate other’s success as well! That needs to teach the Russian team how to accept what they actually deserve and to do it with dignity.
After ri's disappointing result Italy team, especially the captain Maurelli and Centofanti, that were already competed at the Olympics the goal was to return from Tokyo with a medal ❤️

It is wonderful to see, that there are so many Gymnasts with the age 20+. Gymnastics is not a child´s play and to see that the mindset of just burning the athletes in their youth, so they have to retire at 20 is not that common anymore. I wish for a more healthier sports environment step by step.

@@stefanieratchev502 They have all retired, they were supposed to compete at the Kitakyushu world championship but Laura was injured so they drop off and they won't compete again. They even will perform as final gala in Sofia on Dec 16th along with Katrin Taseva and Neviana Vladinova.
At least they retired from the sport with an Olympic gold medal.

I love how the chinese team always celebrates their culture so beautifully just as in artistic swimming. I'm really intrigued to see more of them and hopefully they can get more medals! Bulgaria was simply stunning, deserved gold and a beautiful conclusion. Italy is becoming such a powerhouse in Rg, love to see them rise. Russia will be gone now for quite a while. I hope they can finally get rid of Irina and start a new and healthier age

Big fan of Russian RG but this is a fair result. Bulgaria nailed their routines whereas ROC messed up a bit: in 5 Balls, Maksimova only completes 1 rotation instead of 2 at 58:32 (probably because she didn't throw the ball high enough - very quick thinking on her part) and in 3 Hoops/2 Clubs, Alisa Tishchenko sadly loses control and falls out of her pivot at 1:53:40 - These were costly mistakes.
And the coaches were so delusional that they put an inquiry for each exercise lol

The entire team is now retired, they were supposed to compete at the 2021 rhythmic gymnastics world championship in Kitakyushu but one of the gymnasts hurt her back, couldn't find a substitute and didn't compete. And now they are performing their final gala as a team in December.

Bulgaria was far the best team with the most difficult and clearest execution. Well deserved gold medal ❤ Russian team looks so messy on watching. The Italian team deserved the silver medal.

God how does the Judges judge these groups live??🥺😳 There are so much in each routine!! Hatsoff to the Judges♥️♥️
Usually judges only either score difficulty OR execution, not both, and I'd imagine in group competitions judges also get assigned to specific athletes, but don't quote me on that one.
@@thejewelledparrot2818 haha that's funny! But there's only two Judges to judge apparatus difficulty ! I think their eyes must be burning so badly ! 😳😅😅
they have different panels assigned to look for different things - D panel (difficulty), E panel (execution), and A panel (artistry). Each panel has 4 judges, so 12 judges total. the D panel is divided into two subgroups that look have different duties, with one subgroup giving a DB score and the other a DA score which are then added together to get the D score. There are also 2 line judges and up to 2 time judges. 🤯
that is also why inquiries are common because although the judges are trained for this, it is possible to miss a thing or two which sometimes leads to the D score being adjusted

The way that Russia reacted on the silver reminded me for the battle between Soviet Union and Romania in the artistic gymnastic back in 1970... For all these years nothing changed. I hope these beautiful girls are all feeling good now; who could be a champion without knowing how to loose...
Also the 2000 Olympics when Russia got silver in the team final. Very poor sportsmanship. I'm glad that they don't behave like that anymore. Well, in artistic gymnastics anyway lol. There is usually nothing but good sportsmanship among all of the gymnasts and teams nowadays and I love it! They all hug and congratulate eachother, no matter what country they represent and it's so sweet 🤗
@@nicolekennedy6841 In Sydney 2000, Russia won the first medal in rhythmic gymnastics in the individual All-Around competition and group competition.
You can clearly see their expressions once they were nit placed at the top. For Russians silver is nit winning at all.... I have seen that in several sports, its insane

Well, this is Italy's first RG medal so it's historical for them. On the other hand, the Russians have dominated this event for over 2 decades anything less than gold is considered devastating. The Russian loss in both RG events in this Olympics is equivalent of both American basketball teams, men and women, loses, or the Chinese not getting any gold in diving or table tennis .

Bulgaria's Performance was exceptional. I remember their Naruto Themed performance and they were equally excellent. Congratulations! The performance was clean, neat to watch and full of difficualty and passion. The pacing was very swift and agile its difficult where to look first. Well deserved! Congrats to other Teams too, just being in Olympics is already an achievement.

The Russian coaches should go back and watch the Russian 2012 group routines. They were brilliant- they had music with changes in tempo (this year's hoops and clubs is just a frantic nonstop rush to the finish), great collaboration, original choreography, and the gymnasts actually looked like they were enjoying themselves even in the midst of some really complex work. This season's 5 balls wasn't bad, but the hoops and clubs...whew.
They've been a mess since 2018
Funnily, one of the coaches sitting with them in the k&c was part of the team that won gold in 2012 😅 (Alina Makarenko, for the reference)

Bulgaria has always been my favorite since this ensemble made their appearance in 2017! Im so happy for them! As far as i can remember it’s very rare for them to compete without having a mistake. For example, in all around they are good but in the finals they’ll make a mistake. It’s been like this for the past 5 years. There are a lot of times that they could have gotten every gold. This is not to bring them down, for me they are the best but i was so nervous for them because of that reason. And to think out of all the competitions they have been to, at the most awaited competition of all, THEY DID IT ALL PERFECTLY!!! Bulgaria bravoooo! My favorite of them is Madlen Radukanova. And also missing Eli bineva who had injury and cannot compete.
As for russia, i hope people can stop putting them down. They did their best. Lets just support all of them! You can like the other without having to bring the other down.
For belarus, it was so so close they almost had the bronze. It was heartbreaking to see them cry!
But of course italyyy you did great and im so happy for them. Also i noticed there is a new one in their group. It’s too bad for the other one that couldnt compete in okympics after 5 yrs of being in the group.
Russia has claimed the Bulgarians as well as Linoy Ashram were given the gold medals without deserving them. For Russia no one else deserves the first place apart from them. Russia doesn’t support anyone else and trashes the other gymnasts, why in the world do we need to support them?

В группах давно уже ситуация была накалённая - побеждал тот, кто выступил чище, а на тот день это оказалась Болгария, они действительно круто выступили. А насчёт большого количества протестов - я думаю, что это скорее связано не с судьями, а с тем, что оценка стала открытая и шанс на ее повышение увеличился, а на олимпиаде даже дополнительно 1 десятая лишней не будет

А Русия трябва да се научи да губят с чест и достойнство - качества които са непознати и далеч непонятни за тях. Нека не се мислят за най-добрите и можещи, защото може да си загубил, но го покажи с доблест, без да сипеш жлъч и злоба. А за нашите думите са излишни - както испанската публика ги нарича "THE QUEENS".
Според мен трябваше Италия да са на 2 място,а Китай да са на 3 място и Русия да е на 4 те няправиха няколко грешки които вземат доста точки

I don't want to offend or cause discord, but I think these Olympics were important because it broke the stereotype of Russian invincibility, many sites already took the gold medal for granted even before the games started, Russian gymnasts are amazing but not invincible, and they need to put an end to this idea or they will lose gold in the next olympics too, Dina was devastated by second place because she never imagined it would happen but it happened and now that other countries have seen it, they will arrive with more determination and desire to win than ever

@@patem7379 a little bit overscored with balls yes but underscored in other exercices, especially for ribbon where Linoy received 1,000 point from nowhere and Dina didn't have her 15,4, receiving 14,8.
@@iankirillin7285 Dina wasn't underscored, she didn't performed well most her catches out of visual field, she was retrieving the apparatuses clearly before without losing eye contact with them, it's one of those few times when de judges barely gift to Dina the score, there's a lot of analysing highlights the fact the twins shouldn't be counted those catches because they don't performed correctly, in Linoy's case she performed at final a dynamic element of rotation she didn't got credit at qualification because she didn't retrieve the apparatus while doing the rotation, what's the use about having a theorical higher difficulty start if you're not able to hold up to it, and that's what happens to Dina, she was very useful to received the full credit of her score despite not performing it according to the COP, and I'm pretty sure she barely does self examination of her own work because for her not dropping the apparatus means a higher mark because she performed "clean" when in this COP are more costly mistakes than "dropping an apparatus" lile the dynamics elements of rotation

Russia's routines are I don't know....so uncomfortable to watch ? Really painful to they eye and looks like a mess. I watch it but I have no idea what they are doing or trying to perform to us.

i'm not an expert in this sport, but as a viewer i'm mesmerized by italian's routines, especially the second one. It seems more difficult and synchronized than the russian's and even bulgarian's presentation. For me, they deserved more.
Yeah it really look more synchronized , but Bulgaria routines were extremely more difficult and they were perform so clean so I stand behind Bulgaria 🥇 , about Russian group their routines were also very difficult but they had two or three big mistakes
