I tried slide on an old P-bass back in the 80's but could never get it to sound anything like as cool as this - it's awesome!! Flats or rounds btw?

I´m having tons of fun watching your videos! Many thanks for your effort!
I´m looking to get started into slide bass too without having any previous experience. I was hoping that maybe you could share your a little bit more of you knowledge and answer two a couple of questions:
1) Long Scale or Short Scale. Be aware that I will be mostly using Open D and Drop D tunings rather than Open G.
2) I love how freetless basses sound. I think that this can be my opportunity to finally get one. The problem is that if i go for a short scale fretless, the options are drastically limited. Specialy if my budget is not high. Any recommendations for a medium quality model?

Could be unnecessary because of the root fifth root tuning. Also, I read elsewhere that the E string can vibrate too vigorously for the slide

is there a reason you're mostly plucking the strings with your middle finger?
Hmmm good question. I'd say its probably because I'm keeping that low string going with my index finger on nearly every beat - easier to stretch

Why no E string ?
Maybe you could move those 3 strings over one position & add a high c to get some higher notes

What kind of slide have you used on bass ? Give me a link with the product.
Its just a simple cheap glass slide, however I think something a little heavier might be more suited to bass - maybe a brass slide.

People have used basses as lead instruments before, just look at Les Claypool
or Cliff Burton, Flea.. etc.
