    Great instructional videos Charles! Thank you for your communicative and concise videos! I just finished my fork rebuild and gold valve install last night and did my shock rebuild and gold valve yesterday as well, just waiting on a new bottom out bumper to be delivered today before I can put the shock back together, bleed it and take it to the shop to recharge nitrogen so I can reinstall on my bike.

    I tried them others guy's videos..where you fill the resevoir then put the bladder in...then fill the canister and put the plunger in... I tried 5x, with 3 different videos. None of them worked...
    Your video worked. Thanks, you just made it so the last 6hrs of my life 1. Wasn't trash. and 2. Wasn't expensive, as it's like $200 at a dealer to have'm do it for ya or you can roll the dice for $100 on ebay.

      Jacob Cragen what do you mean? I rebuild my shock using the other video RMatv posted when you put the oil in first then bladder then piston. Is that what your talking about? I did that and I somehow didn’t get the proper oil and got air stuck in it. Dod this video fix that problem?

    The video shows 18 mins but you’re good at it. I’m a skilled mechanic so I’m thinking an hour the first time. I have a shop that says 2.5 hours and close to $500. They can kiss my …. Anyway what’s the real time to rebuild it once it’s on the bench? Great video and right to the point. No fluff talking about silly crap so I enjoyed it

    This shock looks very similar to the ones on the DRZ400 bikes. Are there any significant differences I should keep in mind?

    I have everything done up until charging it with nitrogen. I filled it up with 130 PSI with my shock pump to test the return rate and check for leaks. It leaves a little oil where the seal was after returning. Is this because I dont have it fully charged and it is not sealing properly? I am confident I installed everything correctly. I dont want to have to take it apart again. Thanks

    my sons 2000 XR250r feels like there is no oil left in the shock and it feels "springy" when we sit on the bike and work the rear suspension. Im assuming we have an oil leak issue. I bought the Clymer manual from you, but it doesnt say anything about disassembly of the shock. We are going to try and purchase the tools from your site, along with a replacement bump stop and the "All Balls Rear Shock Seal Kit". Can you tell me what shock oil we need, and what the correct Nitrogen PSI is to recharge the system afterwards? Any other tips or tricks would be appreciated. thanks!

    Is drawing out nitrogen necessary when removing the shock?

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  5 месяцев назад

      The entire shock system in under pressure from the nitrogen. Not releasing this pressure could make a mess.

      Yeh, your fork require like a 13cm air gap....a shock if u have any air at all, when you fill the bladder, the shock won't pop out.

      You came on here to see how to hook up a coupler to a shrader valve and add 150psi? Lmfbo. 78% nitrogen in all air or 99% from a shop. I'll take my chances with mixed air in my shock, as the oem manual states compressed air can be substituted.

      What's complicated about it?? As long as you have a few special tools like the seal bullet, etc - it's pretty much paint by numbers if you follow this video. I tackled my first shock service myself; then did it for 3 buddies since I enjoyed it so much

      Why would you say that? Charles does a great job of explaining things. You still need your service manual to do the job.
