    Sweet boat. Always wanted a GT150 in that color and a Jetflite in white/blue.

      Thanks! I've owned several, but I like you prefer this silver metalflake in this boat! Jetflite's are cool as well... do you own a Glastron/Carlson now or is there one in your future?

    • @SCROGY
      @SCROGY 11 лет назад

      rev1717 Actually, I own a Northcraft playboy. It is an almost exact copy of a Jetflite right down to the "V" on the sides. Glastron sold the molds to Northcraft after they stopped making Jetflites. The same thing happened with Sunray, they made copies of the GT-150. I could have had a pristine blue/white Jetflite for $1200 (would have paid even more no questions asked) and told the guy I would pay all shipping costs from Minnesota. He said ok, then bailed on me and sold it to someone else. His loss because I would have easily paid $2000.00 for it. Looking to get a GT-150 soon, if I can find a pristine one.

  • @frankfarago2825

    Well, 15-feet L.O.A. -- is only fifteen feet, admittedly. The do make longer GTs also. Glastron was always well ahead of its time. The JJBB -- Jumping James Bond Boat -- was basically this, but with a powerful Evinrude outboard. For the bayou jumps, they relocated the steering column to the center of the boat for perfect left-right balance.

  • @captainedc

    How would that be with a 135 merc inline 6 on it ?

    • @melrose9252
      @melrose9252 4 года назад +1

      The ‘85 90hp is prop rated and a 71 in-line 6 135 was flywheel rated so the 135 wouldn’t be a great deal faster.

      @@melrose9252 so omc 90hp hangs with tower of power? I’d love to know what to look for.

    What size motor is that ? I am gritting a Carlson that is the same boat but I need a motor for it . And ! That one looks like I pushes it well

    • @megasonify4800
      @megasonify4800 6 лет назад +1

      Thank you Mary. We rated it at 450ci. I'm running tower of power Merc 220hp. Can't wait for the new 300's. Prolly go to triple screws then. Write back when you get your motor installed and tune. 10-5.

    • @rev1717
      @rev1717  6 лет назад +2

      It's the original 1977 85hp Merc. The boat is rated for 90hp, so IMHO, this is right where it needs to be. With just me in the boat, with my 2 blade 21p cupped bronze prop, saw 49mph on the gps. That is a lot to ask out of that size motor, but with an average 19p 3 blade (best overall), probably looking at 42mph or something along those lines. These boats sit pretty low in the back, if you put a bigger motor with more weight, especially those new 4-strokes, won't take much of a wave hitting the back before you are taking on water. Good luck!

    You need to trim your motor up if you do that you'll gain 3 4 5 miles per hour and the boat will run the way it should. You're forcing the boat hull all the way down into the water and slowing your boat down.

    • @rev1717
      @rev1717  6 лет назад +3

      Hey Tim. Yea, I know... with no power trim and my lower back issues, makes it difficult to keep moving it around. I pick one and go for it. You are correct in that it should have a slightly higher trim setting, but also with my experience with owning several of this particular boat, they hull design tends to push down naturally as you pick up speed... it's a design feature of the hull, I'm assuming to help keep this very small craft under more control and stable at higher speeds especially when turning. Just my take.

    Trim that 850 out a hole or two, it's plowing

    • @rev1717
      @rev1717  6 лет назад +2

      Little bit yes. No power trim, which would be nice. So, I guessed a hole too low on this run. But, even when the motor is lifted a hole, these GT-150 hulls tend to push down at speed (slight hook in back of hull, I'm guessing built into the design to make more stable at speed since it's such a small boat), so if you watch most GT-150s running at speed, they all look like they need to be trimmed up. Nature of that hull.

    Can you remake the video. For a boat liver like me I want to hear the engine and talk about about your wonderful boat. Every video always has some kind of music. People don’t want to hear that. Talk about your cool boat and shove a screw driver through that speaker please
