Hi Glen. Am greatful to say that you are the reason I play bass. I have watched so many live concerts with you playing bass for Alaine and Tarrus Riley and it just keeps me motivated. You are my all time bass influence. I also like how you do your music as the blacksoil band.
Loving this!
Give thanks 🙏🏽
Greetings from Canary Islands. Always learning and enjoying your videos. How good and how pleasant it would be to see tutorials from your works with Culture and Tiken Jah Fakoly. Thanks for all!!
Blessings, will have those tutorials in the future.
One of my favourite Jamaican musician / Bassist... always creative, I was always comfortable on set with Glen the work feels easier because glen always know where the song should go, and it’s always a very good direction
Bless up Duke
Yes Mr glen mi love the reasoning learnt alot
thanks for this video, great bass player!!!!!!
I remember that SWR setup w Ziggy very well, your sound was masterful and.articulate ! Then I met Family Man and him David Eden ting but he still loves at least one 18" cabinet. I played an Ampeg SVT with a 4 x 12" cabinet w Sammy Dread and also Frankie Paul, perfect !
Hard to beat 1 18 and 2 12 biamp
Grateful for you and this inspiring video! 🎸💕
I like what you say about the tonality of the bass in terms of writing the line. Like sometimes it's where there's a gap in the frequency range in the arrangement that can lead to which octave I play in..
Yes I, give thanks for sharing the knowledge. Great channel, continue the blessed works. More life!
Give Thanks, Blessings
Thank you for this. It is a privilege to learn from you.
Nice videos! ty for sharing your knowledge with the next generations. I would love to know more about the fingers regarding the tone. The details make the difference!!
Look out for a youtube live coming soon where I'll explain all those things in detail. Bless
Greetings Glen, Happy to see you on here sharing the Knowledge from the source of the Riddims JA... Give Thanks 👊🏿🙌🏾
PS. I am one of the Backline Techs that helps with your setup When you come to BDA with Tarrus Riley. Bliss Up?
Bless Up!!
what kind of upright bass is that in the background? the shape looks different to normal ones. Keep up the work
It was made in Czechoslovakia but it was designed by an American Jazz Bassist Ira Coleman. It was designed so it could be easily taken on flights when traveling. It costs a lot to take a full sized bass on tour. It sounds great but it also helps to put one of David Gage's transducers (pick up) that fits under the bridge then you'll hear the full character.
@@GlenReggaeBasslines Oh I see, thanks for the answer and keep up the good work
Great reasoning
Markbass must be the new kid on the block. They make excellent amps and cabs.
Yeah
🇪🇹🦁🎸🙏🏿 hail Rasta give thanks king my lord
Greetings, which type of strings do you use? 🙏🏿
I use Roto Sound Heavy Gauge. But remember you have to realign your instrument if you had medium gauge strings on it before.
Hi Glen, I’m going to send this message across a number of your video’s in order to increase the chances of contacting you as I don’t have your contact details!
Please kindly contact me in regards to recording a bass track that you previously played!
