  • So the rear trunk in the C8 Corvette gets annoyingly hot. Enough to ruin frozen and cold groceries. I came across a great fix for that and we talk about it in todays video!

I started doing door dash. I get much better tips when I use the Z06. Food is warmer and more delicious. Don’t fix it if ain’t broke… lol.

The HTC C8s you can fit a pizza box right over the engine bay and it keeps it nice and toasty!!!

@@NuHorizonC8 we both love Pizza… Another strong video. Take a look at it again. With your head mount I got a little motion sensation. I may have had you at high speed. I also bought some cool magnetic LED lights that might work good for shots like this. The new drone is cool too.

I went a step farther. Since a large amount of heat may be coming from the air box area, I put additional insulation on the inside of the air box access panel. Even after long trips, I do not notice any concernable heat in the rear trunk anymore. Easy fix, GM should have done something along these lines.

Thats a good extra bit to do! I may try and see about getting more insulation and seeing how much more improvement I can get honestly. Theres a few more spots I know I could have a bit more insulation in. Thanks for Commenting!

Great idea. If I didn’t have the Eventuri intake with the glass I would definitely do this. Great video.

Id wonder actually cutting around the glass opening to cover the other areas. Could get some benefit at least id believe. 😎

This is far too expensive for what you’re actually getting purchase the Insulation from the hardware store. Save yourself a lot of money.

Yup $15 for an 18” role . Used it as sound deadening in the trunk and doors of my 2010 Camaro.

Great install. On another note, have you looked at a ported throttle body?

New subscriber thanks for the info. My 24 is in production, I would think the installation would be the exact same.

Hey Art thanks for the comment! I actually did try out some frozen groceries after I installed the heatshield and it made a significant difference. Even with a stop getting gas after grocery shopping and a 20 minute drive home, things stayed pretty cold actually. Definitly worth it! 😎👍

Use the front trunk.... and do you really think any electronics coming from over seas is in a air cooled container? What a waste of time and money

Who cares if the trunk gets hot,,,,is anybody riding in the trunk. What a joke, and please don't saying your ice cream will melt spiel... there is a front trunk... waste of time and money

It would be interesting if you wanted to store certain things both in the front and the back and keep them from at least getting hot. It may not interest some having that level of practicality but I know others might find it useful. In any case thanks for the comment!

Uhhh, it’s not just about ice cream. If you have expensive electronics like laptops, mirrorless cameras, etc you’re definitely thinking this is a good idea. Also, if your bride is packing her makeup stuff, do you want to take the blame for ruining it? I think not. Happy wife, happy life my friend…
