When Fury Road demolished Max's car in the first 5 minutes it took me out of the movie for good. I watched the rest with resentment.
I must admit that we felt similar. This replica was built before the film came out and was at the Pre-Screenings here in Seattle. You can see that event here: ruclips.net/video/qWJ0AXOJndY/видео.html You can imagine the dissapointment when the Interceptor was flipped in the first scene. Although the "Razor Cola" version is cool, its just not quite the same.
I felt the same , after years and I mean years of waiting for the car to reappear for it to be demolished in the opening scene was a spit in the face. Felt like losing a character to me .
@@bruh_oly1370 Yeah. Brutal. Still loved seeing it again if only briefly.

Come on fella's ... the black Max car is not an Interceptor, the Black XB's are the Pursuit Specials ... the yellow MFP cars are the Interceptors!
You would be surprised just how often this comes up in comments and conversation. As long time fans of the films we agree. In fact you will see that in the video description here and elsewhere, we refer to it as both and give "Pursuit Special" first mention. We do for the general public use "Interceptor" as shorthand for 2 reasons. It was after referred to in Mad Max 2 / The Roadwarrior at "Last of the V8 Interceptors", and has become known to most folks (even us hardcore fans speaking to more casual fans) as such. I am sure you will agree that many names are accurate such as "Black on Black (BoB)", "Last of the V8s", and a few others in addition to the 2 common ones above. These all come from either actual movie lines or handed down from production crew's on set stories of how they called the car. In any case, you are quite right. Though some of the Yellow cars are "Pursuit" cars and are even shown labeled as such on the boot lid. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
@@MadMaxCars Thanks for the response gents. As an Aussie who grew up with this film from when it launched in 79 - we always distinguished the Black XB V8 as the Pursuit Special (Last of the V8's) as opposed to the yellow MFP Interceptors. Even the Black Holden being driven by the Night Rider was a stolen Pursuit Special. I know it can get into semantics but even Aussies who were not born when the first Mad Max film was launched, persist in calling the XB The Interceptor. Could it be argued that all MFP cars were Interceptors but not all Interceptors were Pursuit Specials? Sure ... but to us who were there from the start of this movies cult following in Oz ... the XB was the Pursuit Special.
@@thevelointhevale1132 We absolutely agree. It is established as the "Pursuit Special" in the film as is the Nightrider's ill gotten Monaro. It is true that most people around the world use the ubiquitous "Interceptor" established by the second film. Which is why we use them interchangeably and tend towards the most widely recognized one most often. I would say that not all MFP cars were Interceptors, as at least one of the yellow cars even clearly said it was "Pursuit", just presumably not so "Special". ;-) We are glad that there are the holdouts who stick to the original name for the cars. Still even hardcore cult fans like you and I know what folks mean when the mention Max's Black "Interceptor". Then you get the chance to tell them the whole story and they get to watch the movie again and enjoy!
They need to do a tour of the fury road vehicles in the USA.

@Edward Gross Thanks for sharing that.
Who the hell is turning an Aussie falcon into a shitbox!?
@some random guy They certainly have been getting more and more costly like every classic car. Not hard to find though, just have to be able to afford the going market rate. Same thing is happening with all the American classics. I know how tough it is to see your rare and desirable cars go overseas, we see ours going out every day. Quite a few of them actually go to collectors in Australia, among many other places. I would hardly call a ground up restoration making them a S#!tbox though. You should see how bad they are when they get here. The need the love and attention they get.
@@Moondog66602 No idea. Of the few that are here in the USA, I see them all getting restored and cherished. So truly not sure.

Any possibility of seeing one of your cars at the route 66 festival?
We and a lot of our build clients do get hired to bring cars out to shows, conventions, festivals, and other events. We do some local charity events in the Seattle / Tacoma Metropolitan area as well. Depending on exactly where the festival is, we likely have a client nearby. We did just build some cool cars for the "Decades of Wheels" museum Rt66 n Baxter Springs KS, and w are working on more for them. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
Needs more weathering guys 😄 the Fury road version had more wear and tear, like the tires were stuffed with something, it had rust all over the main body and one of the headlights was broken :) just a friendly tip
Indeed. The owner likes it this way, but once it hits the Wasteland dust it looks pretty authentic. I believe he is planning some more weathering down the road. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
Huge fan and hopefully future owner of one of these but just curious so i can start saving up. What is the cost of a Mad Max Interceptor?

Fury road was a disgrace to the mad max franchise. Why do a replica for a car that was in the film a whole 30 seconds? Completely fucking pointless!!!
It is what the owner wanted. Its set up to be a fairly easy conversion from MM1, to MM2 or Fury Road. Currently a MM2 conversion in progress.

I mean, you COULD put N02 in. We would if a customer wanted it, but it would be a first. Nobody has requested it yet.
Great work. Car looks fantastic. No getting away from the fact that the undamaged, mint condition interceptor from Mad Max one is the best version of the car though. If i had the money id want a version from Mad Max 1 and Mad Max 2.
The original movie version of the car used to be housed in a motor museum in the lake district in England, UK, only a few miles away from where i live. The owner died, and if i remember correctly the car ended up being sold and shipped off to Miami (wonder how much the car was sold for ?). The owner who died had quite a few other movie and tv show cars in his collection. Not sure what happened to them all. The museum was called Cars Of The Stars Motor Museum. It was in Keswick, Cumbria, the Lake District, England, UK.
Thank you! Yeah most of our clients want the Mad Max 1 version. Almost all the cars from the CotSMM when to the Dezer collection museum in Florida. They are selling several of them including the Interceptor.

The Original Car was a Ford V8 Charger 1977. then it was striped of badges certain parts . But that is what the car was.
Though the Australian Chargers are very cool and unique, and were used for some of the :Bad Guy" cars in Mad Max 2 and Fury Road, the original Mad Max interceptor was an Australian Ford Falcon XBGT Hardtop. Thanks again for watching and for your comments!
@@MadMaxCars That's right. The Charger was a Chrysler which, in Australia, was also called a Valiant.

Sounds like a really cool car. Thank you so much for watching and for your comment!
@OneMan101 As far as reproduction parts for an XB Falcon coupe goes, there is a company in Australia called Rare Spares. The Torino has a few things in common with the Falcon, although in some ways they were inspired by the '72 Mustang
Sorry to be a nitpicker. No Torinos in MM. XB GT Hardtop. Sorry again. Awesome car leave it as as a SCG. I am a Ford Man.
@@rhettcorbett3346 I think he means it's the closest he can get to getting his hands on an XB coupe. They're very rare in Australia now, to buy a good one would set you back at least US$50,000. I theory, if you had the body panels, you could make a Torino look more like one, but it would take a lot of metal surgery
@@Mechknight73 surely u could find a decent 1 in da States.
Well I'm not surprised the front end is that strong, if I remember correctly if you look close in the second movie you can see where it looks like they had cutlines they put into the front of the interceptors nose to get it to break so cleanly as it did, as it cleanly shatters into three pieces, like its made out of painted plastic instead of fiberglass. which could have been something they did for safety so it didnt get stuck in something, as it is movie magic after all, plus fiberglass was chosen for the Corvette given how impact resistant it was, so it seems a little weird that such a bump like that would break it so easily.
especially given how I think with how easy that shatters the nose of a Polyeurothane GTO or a Cuda would have taken a hit better than that thing did.
I imagine hey did give it a bit of "help" to break in the film. It did leave the exact same little corner piece on both cars after all (though they may not have crashed the 2nd car). We do use Aircraft materials, laminating techniques, and vacuum resin infusion with our parts unlike most every auto and part manufacturer, so they are extra strong and light, We have actually seen some horror stories with a few "brand x" mad max parts that we did not go into here. Thank you so much for watching and for your comment!

The fury road car never had the rear spoiler or endcaps
Quite true. It never had a bootlid in Fury Road or Roadwarrior so of course never had the rear spoiler (likewise this car has no rear spoiler as you can see). The endcaps are absent in Fury Road because of a tie in to a Video game that never got made (it would have been an item earned during game play. In this case the owner wanted the endcaps for his own reasons, and of course we obliged as we do any custom touches the owner wants. Thanks for watching and for your comment!

There is a couple quick shots of the interior you can see when the doors are open. For more extensive interior shots of this car and interceptor engine shots see this video: ruclips.net/video/dw-KyQ5JLTM/видео.html
No rags in the tire?!
While we could build that prop, it would not hold up super well for long distance driving and this one is a daily driver. Just makes sense to go a little more practical.
Why are the tires so big. They weren’t like that in the movie
The tires in this vid are the daily use road tires the owner uses. He had a long multi state drive, and of course wanted reliability for the drive. They are closer to the tires used in Mad Max 1. You might note that the tires on the Fury Road move car were held together with rags and twine in the rear especially. Great look for a scavenger in the wasteland, but maybe not the best for highway travel. Thank you for watching and for your comment!

Maxes car isn't the same car from furyroad
Not exactly which aspect you are referring to. It is certainly not the same "hero" car they used to film the first 2 movies, that one is in Florida now. There is also some minor differences between the car used in each film that set them apart from an aesthetic standpoint. So I guess in both of those scenes it is not the exact same. From a fictional perspective, who knows. There are a number of interviews with the filmmakers on that subject and I don't feel the answer is any clearer that that it is a "different envisioning" of the car, man and story. Not designed for hitting deer, yep I agree. They were built to handle the odd kangaroo bouncing off the bonnet every now and then though :)

Totally agree. We can help you get one. Contact us at www.madmaxcars.com
@@MadMaxCars sadly out of my budget... And with that pretty charger sticking through the hood & the other "mean stuff" I wouldn't get it roadlegal here in germany :(
@@irgendwieanders1 Totally understood. Budget can be a hold back on any rare or exotic car. However, though we do not have any direct understanding of German road laws, we have helped clients in Deutschland bring their Mad Max dreams to life. How long before the cops pulls you over??
Police often pull over cars like this to get a better look and take photos with the car.... Thanks for watching and for your comment!
Is the fuel tanks in the back functional??
As in the films it is a prop.
Look up Fury Rhodes. Jessa is a great actress.
Not finding anything on RUclips at all under that name. Guessing it is a Fan Fiction of some type?

Stop butchering our coupes!!!!
Most of the Falcons we work on get a stock restoration of some type. We have restoration video series for many of them, like this one for example: ruclips.net/video/WRvxIWd-l2E/видео.html For the few that do get the Mad Max treatment, we generally start with real hard luck cases literally saved from the crusher like this one: ruclips.net/video/S-beKLB9Ti8/видео.html I don't think anybody else would have saved this car. Better we figure than turned into tin cans or a new Toyota, or restored into an awesome Mad Max car and saved from the tip. I am not sure how a ground up restoration is "butchering" a car regardless of how it is customized. In any case thank you for watching and for your comment!
Super voiture ☺😊😀
Absolutely! Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Real supercharger, nice. 👍😆👍
Too many retards think that they actually turn on and off while engine is running.
We do actually build them with working blowers when the client ants that option. You can see us doing just that in the pilot episode of Junkyard Empire.
Yeah, that is movie magic. Most people want us to at that "Super Hero" power to the car when we build it. So we do. Prop blower.
Stop killing coupes
I am not sure how ground up restoration can be considered "Killing" them. "Saving" would be more appropriate. Most of the cars we import get very nice stock or GT clone restorations like this: ruclips.net/video/WRvxIWd-l2E/видео.html For the comparatively smaller % that get the "Mad Max" treatment, a lot of the time it is cars that literally got saved from the crusher nobody else would save like this one: ruclips.net/video/S-beKLB9Ti8/видео.html I am sure you would admit this is "Saving " them in both cases. Far better on the latter than it being turned into tin cans or a new Toyota. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
Do you sell falcon coupes?
There are quite a number of them available right now on our classifieds at www.madmaxcars.com which are already in the USA. We also import them from Australia if you do not find what you like in the classifieds. Feel free to contact the guys at the website above and they can help you find a car. How much would one cost in the states? I would love to have one built with the original falcon front end, with an integrated front spoiler on the bumper.

whered you get the mad max body kit? did you get it from Cameron in Victoria, hes the only guy i know that makes them
Actually we make our own, which has become known worldwide as the strongest body kit available for these cars. We are also the only company that makes a complete bolt on front end including the guards (fenders), GT Bonnet (hood), and even a bolt on Boot Lid with the spoiler built in. I don't know about Cameron's fiberglass, but for the other builders kits that we or our clients have seen, the comment about "this would break any other nosecone", you can count on it being true. We have seen how fragile they are, and you can bet that if the Deer story happened to a "Brand X" nose it would have crumbled just like the one did in Roadwarrior. You can see all of our parts on www.madmaxcars.com including everything else you need to build one of these cars, and the Falcons themselves. Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Awesome, mate ! Love that car

Whats with the U.S and Mad Max. And this ugly car.
If your going to trash an xb coupe at least make it look like the one in the movie., This car is a bit of an abortion. You can get the movie on bluray now instead of video. That might improve your eye for detail, but i doubt it.
Folks in the USA, like many Australians and others around the world love the films and find the car amazingly cool. You may not like it and we respect that, everyone is entitled to their opinion after all. Still I would hardly call a ground up restoration "trashing" any car. It is possible you did not catch all the information in the above video, regarding the details of the car. This car was built and completed before the film even had its prescreenings. Based on very few available behind the scenes photos etc, many of which may not have been the exact on screen configuration even. So though it is close in many ways it is certainly not absolutely accurate. It also has some of the owners specific personal requests incorporated. It is however a WB promo car having appeared at the Seattle prescreening, and the Mad Max game release promoting them respectively. The owner, who contributed to finishing a lot of the details, may opt to change it in the future based on new available information, or leave it in the "WB Promotion car" configuration as he sees fit. When you build your own feel free to do it however you like. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
"When you build your own feel free to do it however you like"
Stay Turned. i've made a replica of one of your replicas since you have such an eye for detail.
@@fredderf551 Ok Fantastic. You will essentially just be building a replica of one of the movie cars then, unless you pick one that has specific variations requested by the client. Still, do what makes you happy with your cars. That is always what we prefer to see. Folks who enjoy their classic car. Its what makes the whole effort worth while.

"You will essentially just be building a replica of one of the movie cars then"
I think its great you use blind workers to build your cars . That's why I'm copying one of MadMaxCars cars, not a movie car. As a sort of dedication to the visually impaired.
I don't fuck classic cars like your company, that's what makes the whole effort worth while.
Hi Guys does that Cars Owner have a Facebook Or Instagram page I can follow for that Car please? thanks keep up the good work Guys!!, 😁👍
Lots of places to see more about this car. Besides our webpage and our facebook page, there are LOTS of groups on FB that replica owners belong to and post info too. A little searching for Mad Max replica cars, Interceptor replicas, and other Movie Prop and Australian Falcons pages should give you a lot of places to follow the action. Unfortunately though, I do not have a personal page to give you.
