I think the line itself *IS* comedic genius. First time I ever heard it said. That's why out of the full 3 min scene, so many ppl comment on that ONE LINE alone. I wouldn't be suprised if Jim Carrey came up with it as opposed to it just being in the script. He was that good in his prime!

i really wish they made ace ventura 3 instead of dumb and dumber "to". I think that woulda had so much more potential than that one. I doubt it's even a possibility now considering Jim's state of mind. I heard he wasn't pleased with dumb and dumber 2. And tbh he was kinda right, I saw it and didn't laugh that much. I heard him in an interview say it just seemed as if he was just immitating his old self and not being genuine. He's def a different person now. But I'm still crossin my fingers.

This scene was _always_ cut. They only added it for the VHS release, which seems to be where _all_ of us saw it. To make room for this scene, it seems they cut Ace rocking out on-stage with Cannibal Corpse, which is pretty great too…
Not just Netflix. Most of this scene was cut from the copy I had as a kid. Well it was a pirate VHS but it would have been copied from the legit VHS. And I never remember seeing this scene ever when it was on tv

In the UK Jim Carrey hadn't been seen on tv shows like In Living Color etc, so he literally came from nowhere as far as we knew to then in one year (1994) become THE biggest comedy star in the world. Ace Ventura, The Mask and Dumb & Dumber were ALL IN THE SAME FUCKING YEAR! Genius! Immediately fell in love with his comedy after this scene especially as is early in the movie. What a man! Still kills me this scene.
