- BassWard. We have never seen a SpongeBob episode quite like this before. Squidward and Bubble Bass tolerate each other as they go to conventions in Jetsam City. Bubble Bass and Squidward is a weird combination of characters, but I'm all for it, at least for one episode.
SpongeBob does not appear in this episode whatsoever, marking the first time in the series run that the titular character is absent from an episode. There are multiple episodes where SpongeBob is not the protagonist of the story, but he usually has a significant part. Not this time though, as he does not appear.

Finally Spongebob didn’t annoy Squidward because he’s absent for the first time in the entire episode!
24 years into the shows run, they finally done an episode without the titular main character.
I thought they have a done an episode without the main character before.
They’ve done a few episodes without SpongeBob. Like a remember at least 1 or 2 with Patrick and one with Pearl
@@peterjohnisback You're completely missing the point. Episodes that has him in the background or serve as a small cameo doesn't count. BassWard didn't feature nor mentioned him at all in the episode.
I liked this episode. This had more of a plot than majority of s13-onwards episodes. I also found it interesting, and funny at times. I'm glad Mike Bell returned to write episodes for season 14.

This episode is really good, it was hilarious had good animation and a simple plot. Thats all i need from SpongeBob tbh.
Adventure time had episodes without Finn or jake. Teen titans go had episodes where the 5 titans didn’t appear. The Simpsons apparently took 30 seasons for Lisa not to appear in an episode. so it’s not that weird lol.
It's rare. The Simpsons are a case, where it's ensemble cast. The first time a family member didn't speak, aside from Maggie, was Marge in Krusty Gets Kanceled (Season 4 finale). The writers forgot her so she only got a cameo. It's much rarer in live action.
@@TitaniusCornwood I think in that case it was actually because she felt like they were selling out with all the celebrity guests but to this day homer himself is the only character to appear and talk in every single episode.
@@TitaniusCornwood You know, Titanius? I've always wanted to see this cartoon, but with the story told from Squidward's point of view. I like this character. My favorite parts are the episodes that focus mainly on him. Sometimes I watch Spongebob just because I know Squidward is in it in 1 or 2 scenes.

nice to see a squidward episode without spongebob cus if he were in it the episode wouldve probably ended up like a basic squidward torture episode like the others
What the f****** where the writers thinking either Tom Kenny was sick or the animators screwed up big time

I mean, the title is pretty clever, it combines the two characters' names and it can also be interpreted as "Forward" further emphasized by the motion lines on the letters.
I haven'tseen this episode but it a full episode that has bubble bass and squidward have a full episode they only had small interaction from thier first meeting
They have interactions in Sea Sponge Hater's Club and Bubble Bass's Tab
theres already episodes with patrick and bubble bass as a duo
Hate me but The Patrick Star Show Episode where Bubble Bass looks like the Nostalgia Critic was the best SpongeBob Moment of 2023
This is also the first epiode where SpongeBob never appeared.

Not necessarily, the episode premiered at 4 pm. Even at that time, the bulk of their audience was probably adults.

Season 12 there is a Patrick and bubble bass episode already.
Shouldn't that be Squilliams spot instead of Bubble Bass.
