4:55 - The most amazing tests for this watch model were probably the acceleration test to 7.25 G x 5 minutes and then to 16 G for 30 sec, and the shock resistance test of six 40 G shocks in 6 directions. These watches were built probably stronger than most tanks.
Loved this video! I have a vintage 1976 Speedmaster Pro "moonwatch" as well as a few modern ones (one standard as used by NASA for EVA, one with sapphire display caseback, and finally a Limited Edition with panda dial).
This former NASA gentleman is a wealth of knowledge. True live Omega legend. My respects.
I love how protective James was of the Omegas. He speaks about them as if he were looking out for his own children!

Wonderful video about one of the best eras of human history!!
And naturally one of the most iconic watches ever 😊👍
I very much miss those days
This is an amazing video recording the history of the Moonwatch! Thank you for recording this history.
Glad you enjoyed it, and you're very welcome!!
I'm so happy I found this interview. More people need to see this!
You're welcome, and spread the word! :D

A wonderfull story, looking forward to the next parts....
I'm 48 and times right to get one of these beautiful watches this year they're fantastic
I love that original square link bracelet design
Im just curious… does hesalite crystals can really withstand 250 fahrenheit?
what is the theme music for this
awesome stuff!
I wonder how you keep from cracking the crystal as it protrudes so much from the case?
I wonder how the "plastic Hasilite" crystal didn't melt at 250 degrees.
anyone ever seen one of those "radio dial" ones before? I believe thats the real treasure never been available to the public
It’s “radial” dial, as in radius. It refers to the way the numerals are configured around the subdials. Super rare variant.
Who needs Rolex? xD Omega is in Space!
i sold mine. dont change 5 rolexes for one vintage Speedy.
OMEGA real Rock n' Roll watches💪🚀🌠🌑!
You've said it!!
Wonder what's on Bart Sibrel's wrist? 🧐
Watching on 27th March 2022...
“The Jiminy days...” I was thinking Jiminy Cricket - he meant Gemini
The German engineers called it "Gem en eeee" not "Gem en eye".. It's just the way we grew up hearing it called.
He means Gemini right? Can someone tell him how to pronounce it?
You can pronounce Gemini either way.
Yep, all the old timers at NASA pronounced it that way.
Omega… to the moon baby! Rolex… never mind. Overhyped bling is the future of watchmaking 🙃
absolutely fascinating...will never be able to afford one but love Omega anyway..
And Rolex... Let me play more tennis...
Saya tunggu subscribers nya.
Poor Rolex and Longines
When he says I only let omega service the watches .....lol no shit do you know how to service a watch
Some people get their watches serviced by a local or independent watch maker 🤔🤷♂️
nobody went to the moon, good watch though
Yeah, coz Earth is flat with a pin underneath holding it, LOL!!!!!!
Try telling Buzz that why dont you? He would pound your face.
