Being a Punekar. Feel very bad that Pune is almost finished now... Over populated, people are pouring in from all over the Maharashtra, collapsed traffic system, development is happening as per politicians demand , no development planning.. No value for general citizens.. We Punekars left with only these beautiful memories, we have lost our original Pune, 😔😔

It's because Mah Govts only focused on developing Mumbai and Pune, and ignore rest of Maharashtra. If govt develop every main city in every district, then Pune and Mumbai would become less crowded. Same could be said about Banglore, Hyderabad and Chennai.

    Very nice. Subscribed.
Pune has changed a lot now. More changes took place especially in last 3 decades. Tranquillity & peace is lost in concrete buildings, crowded roads, thousands of vehicles causing air n noise polution, increased population gathered from all parts of India. No doubt industries, IT sector brought prosperity but people became restless. Anyway, we must welcome changes with coming times.

@@TheEnderPearl don't speak without any knowledge .OK if he speaking any antinational thing I absolutely condem him.all parts of india are its integral part
      However
Yes I checked per capita of maharasntra . It's higher than national average and 9th highest in india And taking into consideration its such a big state(hence difficult to govern) and facing mass migrations since independence(yes marathinpopulation is 68% only in state from 81% in 80s) and constant droughts the state faces in Eastern and central parts it still can be claimed decent score.
Marathis make mumbai congested?lol!marathinpopulation percentage is Decling in main mumbai .
And maharashtrians don't respect immigrants? It's other way around . So many gujartis , marwaris live happily and earn happily in maharashtra . Only ur media and bollywood exaggerates those petty local parties like MNS based on some incidents . In reality even AIMIM is stronger than MNS in mh.
And comming to slums , pune dosnt have slums and its not cosmopolitan compared to mumbai . Mumbai has coz its receiving immigrants from whole country Including rest of maharashtra . A poor marathi of mumbai may live in a settlement called chawls . Chawls aren't illegal .
Taking into consideration slums it has all kinds of people I.e Muslims, northindians , tamils , marathis etc.

Now, to day we can't go without AC.
What to talk about population, crowding and pollution?
It requires extreme care even to cross a simple street.

Having spent 5 adulthood years in the AFMC Campus, studied in AKI's Poona College in the early 80s, this is sheer nostalgia for me. Having said that, I feel that the archaic and laid back life of Pune are overshadowed by the razzmatazz of the growth(?) and the old world charm is totally lost. But whenever I visit Pune, I make sure I visit every place I miss. The Military Finance Office is wrongly mentioned. It is the Armed Forces Medical College
