The sign-off script was used since Metromedia's purchase of the station in 1983 and past the company's acquisition by News Corp. in 1985. A similar script was also being used for many years at sister-station WNEW-TV (now WNYW) in New York and other Metromedia stations over the years (the general manager part was unique to WFLD). Ironically, WNYW's street address is also 205 (East 67th Street in New York, that is)!
not where I liv ei used to get the local channels but after dtv took over and spending 200 bucks on useless junk that still did not even receive a single signal I checked the maps and the area was half of what it was I took every receipt I had and got my money back on all the stupid box's add ons and just got direct tv finally analog signal was way better for the local channels especially pbs and some out of Canada I used to get at night.
Was it my tv or did CBS always have bad reception and snowy? I would watch Bear football games or the Christmas cartoon specials, and i would spend a good 20-25 minutes adjusting the antenna. By that time the game or cartoon would be over. Fun times. lol
oh same here our cbs ch 7 alwas was like ch 13 lots of staticy sound and rainbow lines hehethat was most of the time but sure made the Charlie brown specials unfprgettable hehe.
Missing these days, now it's infomercials running through the night until 4am when the morning news come on.
