  • This is the last half hour WLIO analog channel 35 in Lima, Ohio, was on the air. This transmitter has been in service since April 1972. Video concludes with the shutdown. Recorded from the digital transmission. ADDED NOTE: There will be more video later, showing the transmitter being taken apart, and the new transmitters installed at the station.

    I can't help but think of that old line from politics, "are you better now than 8 years ago?" My digital cellphone, my TW digital phone, IBOC, you name it. Me thinks sometimes high tech is not the answer.

    Gosh I didn't think there were any of those old RCA TTU-series still around. I ran a TTU30 back in the early 1970s. You're going to save a lot of money not boiling water with those old inefficient klystrons.
