Wow this Genesis is absolutely beautiful, nicer than I ever thought , better than Audi and BMW
Toyota , lexus designers should take note of. That’s the most gorgeous COUPE SUV
It’s a 4 door…😂😂😂
🤷🏼
@@MrKim-kv2vv Correct, but this four dour model is still referred to as a Coupe/sloping room design. Same for Audi, BMW, Porsche, Volkswagen etc ...
The Japanese aesthetic is based on Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam. 😂
it’s a 5 door crossover. I’ll take the RX 500h
@@JohnLee-db9zt And it shouldn't be the case. Japanese KNOW how to design beautiful vehicles. LF-A, FX35/FX45, G35, RCF, GSF, LC500, just to mention a few that come to mind. Toyota/Lexus NEED to go back to the drawing board. They're obviously cheapening out on their designs, while Hyundai/Kia have been heavily invested in it and it shows.
Genesis really knows how to make a stunning beautiful vehicle!!! Wow
I couldn't agree with you more about the crossover design! That looks beautiful!
This is the exact reason why I am looking at Genesis for potential brands when the time comes to upgrade my RC 350. Lexus right now has zero cars aimed at the series 3 or 4. A 2023 Lexus RC or IS gets me the same powertrain and interior as my 2018. The G70 TT or even the G80 look way more luxurious than any Lexus currently in the market.
my LC 500 disagrees 🙂
Ahhh the LC 🤤
this clearly has a presence over vehicles at its price point and above
8 years ago I bought a Hyundai on a whim. I remember from the 80’s what garbage they were, but took a chance. My wife and I are on our 6th Hyundais, have bought nothing else, my wife the gv80 and I have a Kona N-line for me. I was driving cross country regularly and wanted mileage and a car that would last as we racked up 100’s of thousands of miles. We’ve put over 150k miles on them and they’ve never missed a beat. Never been to the shop for ANYTHING other than regular maintenance (oil change etc and that came free with each car, a dealer thing, not Hyundai ) I still have my 2016 Elantra GT, currently 176k miles and runs perfectly (like the looks and aftermarket sound system lol) genesis/hyundai/kia have upped their game and the gv80 is one of the best luxury car we’ve ever owned, it’s THAT GOOD) we couldn’t find any manufacturer that backs their product like this (10 year 100k miles. Seriously. That’s no typo) the people telling you it’s not as good have never owned one, and surely haven’t driven one because even if it’s not a fit for them, the quality luxury are impossible to deny. The price, warranty and quality you’ll not find in any brand for the money. Again, twice the warranty of Toyota, Mercedes, Cadillac, etc etc etc. it’s easy to prove, just go on autotrader or anywhere on line and compare. The next closest isn’t even half of genesis warranty. If Toyota and Lexus etc are so awesome, why not back it up? They charge way more, why not back it up? lol. They don’t and won’t. Even Toyotas not confident to warranty theirs for 10 years. lol.
Or you could own both. Genesis and Lexus for me. An LC500 and a G80 Sport would be the perfect garage combo.
This is the car of my DREAMS. Absolutely 💯 Stunning
It is gorgeous! 🔥
Drop dead gorgeous, athletic elegance, describes me and this beaut. Only one for me 😭
I’m still hoping we see that 2 door coupe concept from genesis one day
Hope it comes with immobilizers to avoid the KIA BOIS😂
🗣🗣KIA AND HYUNDAI DON’T EXIST BECAUSE OF THE KIA BOYZ🔥🚨
The best thing Korean car companies ever did was drafting top European car designers years ago.
Yep, the head designer is from Bentley. I can see the similarities.
WELL DONE KIRK!!!!❤
A gorgeous vehicle, reminds me of the DBX Aston Martin stunning!
Thank you for such a knowledgeable and informative perspective!
Genesis is killing it right now check out how wide those rear doors open on the GV 80 coupe must be 90°
Excellent
Not a fan of the coupe designs (remember even the Toyota Solara, that was OK lol), but this I like! GV80 just keeps looking better year after year. Would like to see how this does when it hits the market.
My guess is people will line up to buy this and Genesis won't be able to produce fast enough for the inevitable queue to form. Like what happened with Telluride.
Competition is a good thing I’m glad to see this not a huge fan of Hyundai Genesis brand but I have to give them a bunch of credit for their designs if you think about it 10 years ago or so no one would ever consider this manufacture!
@@arlo2203 They've been around a long time but their market share momentum really started 10 - 15 years ago. 2009 to be more exact. The sixth generation Sonata and the introduction of the Genesis sedan/coupe really uplifted the brand's image and desirability. Come 2015, 2nd generation is launched and the rest is history. Now they're the 3rd biggest auto manufacturer in the world. Truly impressive.
Absolutely, stunning
On my 2nd GV80 since year 1 and LOVE it. Traded a Range Rover in for the GV80 first year and its a better car for 1/2 the cost. Been on the list for this GV80 Coupe since day one and while I'll likley trade my GV80 in for this.... they blew the rear tail lights from the concept version. BUMMER
I’m coming for this in 2025!! It my turn!
Stunning exterior design (the interior is, as always from Genesis, nr 1 by a margin.
Tesla, take note
It really is a beautiful vehicle...
BTW thanks for this Vid
I am ordering it ASAP
nailed it
When I pay $66k for a car like the Lexus RX....this is the type of interior I expect. The NX and RX interiors looks like a Camry's 😢
I want this car, im getting this car.
Nice
My dream car
Niiiice👌
This is absolutely beautiful. No hybrid versions?
This looks amazing........ I currently drive an older Acura and am ready to treat myself to a really great car. I don't haul a family but sometimes like a large cargo area. At the same time, I love the aesthetics of this car. I do wish, however, there was a plug in hybrid version. Maybe in a year or two?
When will it b available?
Genesis is not coming for Lexus. They have passed Lexus when it comes to the cars and their beauty and finish.
They going after the German
The reliability component isn't quite there yet nor is the dealership experience, but it's hard to ignore the quality of the materials and the exceptional fit and finish. It's a far more accomplished product, better than any Lexus on sale (save for the LC500).
looks like benz & audi had a baby with this new genesis coupe, i love it!!!
I have a lexus that is due back when my lease is up. This will make me look at changing brands...
Aside from Porsche with the Cayenne Coupe and occasionally Audi with the RSQ8 that looks amazing, the GV80 Coupe is another fantastic-looking coupe SUV. However, I am scratching my head as to why Genesis completely changed the look of the taillights from the concept that was shown off at the NYC Auto Show. The ones on the production version don't make the vehicle look ugly in any way.
I can only assume the reason why Genesis changed them simply comes down to regulations or possibly to fit it in with their current design language. This is a shame because those taillights on the concept gave the GV80 Coupe more of an identity and gave me G90 taillight vibes.
He'll yes I would pick it over at Lexus, which I already did because I own a gv80 now and love it
Fact
They can try but they never will😊
They already did, they going after the German, the Japanese are not on their level
I refuse to buy a fastback SUV. Styling is cool but just make it boxy and give me the practically
I hope we don't have to wait till summer to get these at US dealerships.
More like fall
I really miss the regular gauge cluster
Can I ask what exterior color do they call the GV80 coupe?
Pretty sure this is the 2025 GV80, not the 2024. Correct?
What power and trans.
cost?
I love the Genesis brand but just can’t afford it, yet.
Get's my attention as well. As a Lexus owner note to Lexus, watch out Lexus, while you (Lexus) figure out your current identity crisis, Genesis will take over.
I already switched over to genesis, Lexus interior be so outdated
seeing the inside is equal to a seeing a pagani interior older models
This is Porsche level of quality!
Not Porsche lol Bentley level quality
Lol I bet you never been in a Bentley or Porsche. :) No way Genesis is a better build quality than Porsche. @@GodsloveMuzik
not a chance, but porsche is also much more expensive.
@@dimaroscadallacqua9926 Lmao foolish comment. I have indeed driven them both bro and yes, it is better.
@@GodsloveMuzik Ok, let's agree to disagree.
The new Lexus RX is really nice inside, but Genesis goes one step further than that.
Lol not 1 step lol the Lexus RX is nice and all but the Hyundai Santa Fe blows it out of the water and Santa Fe isn’t considered to be a luxury. That says a lot.
This blow it out
@@kromahj 💯 Not even in the same class at this point. Comparing the RX to the GV80 is an insult to the GV80
@@GodsloveMuzik true, this car so perfect that I am waiting to get it for my wife .
@@kromahj You, Sir, are a man of exquisite taste. Finally someone with great sense of taste
Such a stunning vehicle. Now if they just fixed the poor MPG, I would get it in a heartbeat.
What’s the color? Looks grey & sky blue. Regardless, it’s a beauty!
I liked the concept more, but of course like any… they get watered down. Still looks good tho. I like their exterior lighting design language, especially the amber side turn signals.
Totally agree. It's subtle but they ruined the aggressive stance of the concept. If you compare the profile of the production against the concept, you can see they softened the pitch of all the key design lines (hood, windshield, roof, rear window and spoiler all flatter).
The result is it appears visually lower and flatter which mutes the beefy and aggressive stance of the concept. It's nice but looks kind of vanilla now.
This is a 4 door suv. Do people no longer know the definition of a coupe? 🙄
Perhaps it identifies itself as a coupe🤷🏼
😂😂😂😂
Fr the concept version was a 2 door coupe and it looked way better then this
Actually a 5 door lol. Calling it a coupe is ridiculous.
Genesis has become what Lexus fans dreamt Lexus would be in the future 😪
Ridiculous. They don’t even have a full lineup. Relax
Only thing keeping Lexus is their reliability record, nothing else. This blow out Lexus if you compare. Look at the interior in this.
@@MikeForsythe They don't need to, with their current lineup they already surpassed Infiniti in total sales and both Acura and Lexus will soon be in the rearview mirror, whether we like it or not. Hyundai has much deeper pockets than Toyota these days and they're willing to keep investing in their products unlike the Japanese which only know how to cut corners and redirect R&D funds towards glitzy marketing. Mazda has been an exception to the rule, as they've been releasing highly competitive products recently with proper RWD platforms and complete assembly in Japan, unlike Honda and Toyota, save for a few Lexus models
@@philhenderson3516 they will not pass Lexus. Acura and Infiniti are not really luxury brands and Genesis with no dealer network is also on the edge. It’s not just product it’s the entire luxury ownership experience. The Genesis forums are filled with upset owners with poor quality cars, terrible service and maintenance experiences and plunging resale values.
Yes they have a nice lineup and yes Hyundai is investing. Unlike Lexus who changed the entire luxury landscape forever when they entered the market, Genesis simply entered the market.
@@kromahj where are Genesis coupes? Performance cars? V-8s? Plug in hybrids? etc etc.. Relax lol
the U in SUV stands for utility. Making these cars more sedan shaped makes it less of a utility vehicle. Shows some car buyers want sedans anyway, just taller ones. I'm not a fan of the front. There's lot of grill. And the side seems to have a bottom shiny stripe rather than blacked out panels to take weight off of the body. The interior has a smoother display area but less distinctive without the gentle curves of the original.
Sounds like you can’t afford it 😂
@@JohnLee-db9zt I can't. But I don't really like "coupe" SUVs, even the ones I can afford! I like the regular GV80, GV70.
i don't see these often
I was hoping you checked the rear seat headroom. 5:08
Wait for my full review 🙂
I will have to see it in person to make a final call. But, from videos, it's a bit disappointing compared to the original concept. The concept was better stanced, and seemed to have more flared fender wells than the production model.
Did they finally add Apple CarPlay to this model
Headlights from the G90.
I don't like the 22 inch wheels. I hope 19 inch is available as an optional wheel.
Genesis will overtake the competition in in a few years
They already overtook Infiniti in total sales, it's only a matter of time before they get on par with Lincoln, Cadillac, Acura, and Lexus. And mind you, the total average sale price transaction of a Genesis vehicle is $63K... far surpasses that of any other luxury brand competing in the under $100K market. Lexus, in comparison, has an average sale price transaction of $52K...
Lexus has missed the mark by giving the RX a 4 cylinder motor. It goes to longevity of the motor. I think Genesis GV80 and also Mazda CX60 & 90 have nailed it. I have always admired Lexus and it was to be my wifes next car but I am quickly changing my mind.
Mazda CX 90 bump on the rear is unbearable. Rest of the car looks great, but that rear just ruins everything.
I already put in an order. All cash.
My only two concerns:
1. Can I touch my touch screen?
2. Is there a panoramic roof option for this?
Yes to both questions
Much better than bmw x4
And bigger. Try X6. And better than that too.
The screens are OLED And not LCD, which is why they are so thin think of an OLED television by LG LG is supplying these OLED screens to Genesis
Hmmmm, I would prefer a Macan in this segment. Or a GLC Coupé.
I want an EV of this car.
Really looks like Hyundai/Kia stepped up their quality. I never even considered Hyundai for a very long time due to terrible quality. My sister bought a Hyundai Palisade and I questioned why. I sat inside and it was really nice. Made me start looking at Genesis. I would hope the reliability would have gone up since back in the day. There's a reason why they offered the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty. If I decide to go with a luxury car over a toy this may be my choice.
If Genesis can do a RWD based SUV....why can't Lexus??
Almost no buyer cares about this.
It does look good but I cant stand crossovers. If you want more cargo space get an SUV, if you want something more sporty and nimble as a daily driver get a sedan
Unfortunately not available in Switzerland and I believe neither in Europe. I honestly believe, that all the German car manufacturer prevent the imports of the fantastic new GV80 and GV80 Coupe!!!😂😂😂
Love the front, the wheels, the materials, happy they changed the steering wheel from that old ugly one.... wish it will have wireless Android auto .... also the air vents are too small and noisy same as the old model
Just made my decision. Bye Bye Lexus. Don’t like the looks of the new RX and have been looking at everything similar to what the RX offers but really wanted something sportier. Well Genesis GV 80 Coupe here I come… unless the Gas mileage sucks. Then it’s back to the drawing board
Gas milegae probably isn't great. That same 409hp powertrain is getting 17 mpg city and 24 mpg on the G90, so I'm guessing maybe 17/22 for this GV80.
Yikes 😂
Same here bro, I am tired of Lexus with their 1990 interior
It's a thirsty powertrain, the 5.0L V8 and the 3.3T from the G70 are easier on gas, believe it or not. I speak from experience. It might also have to do with aerodynamics, GV80 sits much taller and has a wider front end which creates resistance, compared to the more slippery shapes of its sedan siblings. However, it's a very solid powertrain and should prove to be as reliable as the 3.3T. If possible, avoid the e-supercharger and just go with the standard 375hp turbo. Less headaches down the road.
Nice car. However, we had a GV70 a couple of years ago: two transmissions shot within the first year !!!
In addition, the Colorado Springs dealership did not honor the written contract: no replacement vehicle during the one week transmission replacement.
In short, forget Genesis since their mechanical reliability is awful
I thought a coupe, in car language meant a two door vehicle?
Why can't Lexus make a Hybrid SUV Coupe design like this??
Lexus don’t know how to design cars
@@kromahj you like WISH? lol
Send this over to Toyota HQ heads.
They have the most pedestrian designers. That or their Execs are picking dull designs.
Interior of Lexus are also so bland.
If Kia-HyunDie pos, can make things like this. Lexus should be fighting in the board room to UP their game.
Toyota has an accountant's mentality, they have great designers, they're just not willing to spend the dough to put out impactfully designed vehicles. Otherwise, believe me, you'd see more stunners in their lineup akin to the LC500.
*Old fashioned ICE......* very 20th century.
4 doors and a hatch
Unfortunately most genesis service department still shared with Hyundai’s unpleasant service
Nope. Most of them got their own dealership and service.
@@maga4813 not where I live that’s why I sold mine . Lack of respect and poor service .
This is very true. They really need to work on improving customer service at dealerships, it's the one thing that kills the brand.

Genesis Hyundai Kia are the new Toyota Honda Lexus.
The Japanese couldn’t design a sexy new vehicle even if they were given all the money in the world. The Koreans on the other hand are coming out with sexy designs left and right. If only they could make their vehicles as or more reliable than the Japanese, they would be the global leader. I’m talking ICE vehicles. The Japanese suck at BEVs despite their long history with reliable hybrids.
Typical Korean bashing Japanese.
KIA BOIS quality Korean engineering.
LC 500 disagrees
@@MikeForsytheonly the LC500
@@kromahj disagree. I think people just bandwagon jump the new thing. Also Lexus designs their cars while they hired outside people who make them look like a mesh of other brands. Not for me but some people like it. I prefer Lexus sharper lines and better overall styling and proportions. To each his own.
@@MikeForsythe The RCF and GSF were also good looking vehicles, and the stunner of the LF-A. Everything else in their lineup is trash. Nothing but recycled designs from 15 years ago.
Lexus sucks. Their exterior styling is nice but when it comes to the interior and powertrain, it sucks. I will stick with Genesis and trade my GV70 for this coupe when it comes out.
Genesis G80 Coupe and the new upcoming Lexus GX are some of the best looking SUVs I've seen. The GV80 Coupe is most likely in my future.
Rest of Lexus SUVs look ugly af, no competiton with GV70, GV80, or GV80 Coupe. GV60 though, is the ugly duckling of the family.
The quilted seats have got to go, not only on this vehicle, but all brands. Such an overdone and outdated design element
