The car is excellent in every sense of the word. I bought one two weeks ago and it is very nice to drive. As for the driver’s monitoring device, I can put it in stop mode whenever I want. In other words, the car contains many safety and luxury systems, and I can turn them on or off or adjust the alert level in it. There will never be any inconvenience. I am a Lexus fan, but after driving and owning the Genesis, I began to see Lexus in second place after the Genesis.
I think a lot of people in the comments are mistaking australian dollars for united states dollars. This GV80 coupe starts at around $70,000 in US dollars.
While I appreciate the driver attention warning sound is annoying, I’m very surprised you didn’t once mention to buyers that it can be turned off permanently. You not mentioning that implies to potential buyers they’re stuck with it and that’s not the case at all.
I’m starting to like Curt’s reviews. To me, the “Chasing Cars” brand (as pioneered by Tom) means reviews that pack in a lot of tangible information but still give that intangible sense of living with/owning the car. Curt nailed this one.
I've just received my gv80 coupe. I've been driving it for the last month.. You can turn off all the safety warnings while driving and I must tell you this car shits all over my 2022 bmw x5. I'm In love with the car. It's drives beautifully and the quality of the cabin is top notch and infact the exterior is the most elegant SUV I've seen so far.. Highly recommend buying if you have a spare $150k AUD. VERY VERY impressed with genesis and the service again a level up from bmw.. You won't be disappointed
How hard can it be to give a buyer an option to have a full size spare if you want. A useful pov would be to put a full size in the boot and show how much space it takes up. Unless a full family trip a boot taking 2 medium suitcases does it.
Yup. The GV80 is a bit more muted in colors than their other models. They really added them this year for the G70. I think the 2.5T RWD G70 is the best option due to the ease of maintenance. But this year they did add the fake exhaust tips to the 2.5T verse other years where they were true exhaust tips.
It’s funny to me. The front end is clearly aimed at the Mercedes AMG GLC43/63s, the rear roof line is aimed at the BMW X6. The rear end sits right between those two brands. I do find their designs to be a bit derivative, but at least the parts they borrowed are the good looking ones. The rest of it looks fairly original. It’s a nice looking machine, I just hope the exhaust is valved and sounds good. The power is good but it’s a heavy machine. I doubt it’s 0-60 in the low 4sec range. I just hope they push the performance to suitable levels in actual use.
@@2gunzup07 They have experience centres where you can view the cars but no dedicated dealer network. To service the car, a valet picks it up and drives to a Hyundai dealer.

Great review from you as usaul. I see this car as 'faux luxury'. It looks good on the surface but misses the mark on what true luxury car shoppers want. When I sit in the RX I feel that Lexus is offering a fresh, lighter, more modern/younger, less is more luxury. Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Porsche, Cadillac..they all bring something tangible to the table. With all its newness I get a flashback to old Buick, old Mercedes luxury, here. Hyundai/Genesis/Kia, instead of spending time perfecting their mediocre vehicles, think that they can just jump into the luxury space by impressing with bling. Unfortunately, folks who are truly used to luxury are not biting. I mean, who wants to take their expensive luxury car to a low-budget Hyundai dealership for service? They're gonna have to do much better than this to improve their credibility in this space.

What sane person is going to buy an X6??😂… it’s BMW reliability, servicing, parts and insurance is expensive, it’s hideous and the form factor is the worst of both worlds.
Seems to be a common trend with those annoying driver monitoring systems as the newTriton is copping flack for the same thing someone suggested putting tape over it to shut it up maybe do the same thing with this or maybe pay someone to rip the bloody thing out.
I love it how the presenter focuses on the active safety annoyance as the defining decision making factor, but seems to gloss over the almost $150k drive away price for a Hyundai
Well you could say the same about a Lamborghini Urus being a VW… but you are completely right. The ONLY reason premium brands like Genesis, Lexus, Acura, Infinity, etc exist is because they’re way more profitable.
@@HaruHaruman European heritage, Japanese build quality, dedicated dealer network, strong resales, hybrid and straight 6 diesel option, styling that doesn’t give you a cataract
The GV80 is a beautiful vehicle. But every time I see it on the road, somehow it looks old; it looks like a vehicle that’s been in an accident and wasn’t repaired well. It’s the strangest thing!

The colours on this vehicule inside and out are very nice but dont care much for the red seat belts though!

Look at the profile of the tires, you’re going to get a puncture and a bent rim if you run over a cigarette butt!
I have a 2021 GV80 and so far pleased with it. This newest one looks like a beast and not a lot of changes. Just a few. Thx for the video
Seems like all those Germans in the comment sections are really angry about this vehicle lol.
Germans think it's still the 90s
Big mistake with coupe design, concept coupe design was handsome and striking.
Agreed

Without a dedicated Genesis dealer network this is a non-starter

It is on the expensive side. Not competitive enough.
Just checked and 2024 Cayenne starts at 138k AUD. I believe Hyundai has jacked up the price too much too early.
