Hi Shawn, I've been watching your soap making videos, I've noticed that you seem to be a more down to earth soap maker, without all of the fancy latest and greatest. I really like that. I would like to try a batch of soap for home use. I'm wondering where you got the recipe for this, and whether it is public or a purchased or copyrighted recipe. Your batch seemed huge to me. I have lard or meat fat that I have rendered myself, and then washed thoroughly to make sure that it is pure (boil with water several times, and the cool and scoop the later of fat off the top). I'm also curious as to whether evaporated goat's milk, regular evaporated milk, or heavy cream all work for the purpose of making a moisturizing bar. So far you are the only one I've seen putting the milk in to the oil instead of the lye, but it seemed to work just fine. And to go a step further, I wonder if leftover eggnog would work for that moisturizer bar, and whether the scents of the spices would come over after curing. Thank you for your time!
I also use Goat's milk in my soap, and when using water and milk I add the lye water first, then cool to room temperature milk. It turns out fine. I enjoyed your video and was wondering if your a Mississippi girl
