Your experience with your Tenere review sounds extremely similar to how it went for me and my KLR review. Lots of views, lots of anger about click bait, but really helped my channel grow and continues to do so even 4 years later. Can't wait to get a Tenere, yours sounds amazing!!!

    • @RegularJon

I think there was a couple of people annoyed at the click bait side of it, but it's just the way RUclips works now!
Also, when you eventually get a Tenere, you will bloody love it! We don't have the KLR in the UK and I kind of wish we did!

Coming from r1200Gsa and testing aprilia, husqvarna, ktm and Honda I can definitely confirm this bike (for me) is the best in many areas where other bikes are not even close, yet they charge up words of 15k.. Engine mapping is one of the best I have ever tried.
Keep up the work you are doing great 👍

Thanks for that. Enjoying your insight into the Tenere. After all the endless teasing I put my deposit down recently here on the West Coast of Canada. Early summer I'm told. I'd love to see a vid on the rapidly expanding accessories catalogues and any choices you have made. Please, somebody make a replacement gas cap. Also, of course, some off road action would be appreciated.

I am one of your recent subscribers. You are lucky to have the bike. In Canada, T7 will be available in 2020. Can’t wait to get my hands in it. Any plans for a heated grip and cruise control modification. I totally agree with you about the tubeless tires. For safety reasons, this should be mandatory on every bike. I would hate to get a flat in an area with a healthy bears population.... We appreciate your videos👍🏽

My friends that rides gs 1200 said I'm crazy because it's only an enduro bike... But for me the fun factor is the most important. Those kind of bikes are boring (the tiger too apart the wonderful triple engine....). Ciao. Gianluca - Milano

you should start with a smaller bike, and practice your riding skills. a honda CRF250, WR250R, DRz400 probably at the biggest. Trust me, you can learn your skills so much more competently on a smaller bike, it will save your life for when you jump up to a larger one. that honda CRF250L took me 3,000mi on and off road on a single trip, its much more capable than people think.

Hi Jon, just subbed as I’ve been following the introduction of this bike. Your videos are good.
How do you rate the main beam and dip on the bike? It is said to be much brighter as they are LED,s, but specific info would be great. Also how bad is it with fork dive under braking shortening the lighting distance? Cheers Mark

    • @RegularJon
      @RegularJon  4 года назад +1

The lights are absolutely ridiculous, the brightest thing I've ever seen! Mine came adjusted way too high up and the main bean lights up the sky but I've had no real issues, the forks don't dive that much to be honest!

It was a disappointment for me to see such a small tank of gas when the specs for the concept bike were shown, an extra gallon would have been nice and also the seat was a disappointment. The T7 is just starting to filter through here in Australia now .... Pre ordered bikes are getting to their owners slowly ... I'm looking forward to taking one for a test ride, but at 17K AU
it isnt that cheap comparatively to the KTM 790 R seeing how bare bones it is relative to the KTM ....5K more for the KTM is a lot but worth it for what you get

Apples and oranges. I'm old fashioned and a Luddite, hence despise electronics, TC, rider aids, TFT screens etc etc. This bike is a modern replacement for the DR 650, XR 650, KLR 650. RTW bikes relatively light, simple, and easy to work on. If it was air cooled and had a carb..... best thing to come out of Japan and the dual sport scene in 20 - 25 years.

I think the tank capacity would be smaller or the tank taller, if they had developed a included tank cap. And of course more expensive. I think it's no problem. I did a refuel on my test drive and just put the tank cap on the upper fork bridge. Biggest mistake would be a fall inside dirt 😂. So should I sell my really loved mt09 sp to get a tenere? Or should I wait to get it parallel for next winter season 😏🤔

@@RegularJon I think you can't even use a 50hp bike on street to the limits😂, to much traffic and idiots out there. But changes are coming, nice triple engines will die and the Euro 5+ times aren't getting better for combustion engines. I don't wanna miss it too much, that's what I already did with my first mt09 😂. Well a tracer is pretty similar for touring, Sozia, luggage possibilities.. . I think that bike would I sell also if I had one. 🤔

I don't buy the whole "having a proper fuel cap would result in the bike being more expensive" , Yamaha is still charging a lot of money for a bike that is 2000s tech. If anything I think Yamaha profit more from this bike than any other bike in their range and more than their competition. It costs them peanuts to put this bike together compared to a Triumph Tiger 900 or KTM 790. It probably costs them more to put a YZ450F together and that sells for less and it gets an update every year. Good for Yamaha, but stop justifying ridiculous shortcuts for their own profits.
