Listen everyone. I fixed mine just right now without touching anything almost literally. I just Blew the fan window near the usb port (not the one near the power input port, or blow the whole thing sure.) You can actually hear the fan rotates while blowing and it gets faster after a few blow. Turned it on and yeah baby! Works like a charm!!!!!!!
On top of replacing the Fan, the CPU's heatsink should be removed, and both surfaces should be cleaned with some solvent, then apply a new coating of Silicone Heat Transfer Compound that improves thermal connection between Heatsink and CPU surfaces.
Any reason for not replacing the thermal paste since you'd gotten all the way in there and it was just a simple extra step to renew it? Otherwise, very, very helpful
I probably didn't have any on hand at the time - these days I keep it in stock all the time and do it as a matter of course, but on small laptops like these it doesn't make much difference. As long as the heatplate isn't dry, basically.

Hey I have a question. do small computer repair businesses usually take in work experience students?. I'm in year 11 at the moment and want a taste of what computer repair is like. have you ever taken in anyone for work experience?
Hi, Can you recommend where to get a replacement fan from; ebay (link) etc? Also whilst open would you recommend re-applying thermal paste? Cheers, Dan

What that horrifying coloration on the motherboard? I spent half this video scared there was massive water damage or a layer of dust involved...
