Hey Hiromiya. I knew it needed major power factor but didn’t know it was designed specifically for 124gr. The other higher grains I used were all major power factor but was not made for this gun. Sorry I wasn’t clear enough on my review. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching.
.38 Super and .38 Super Comp are different. Super Comp was designed by former World and National Champion Matt McLearn in 92' (I believe). Super Comp is rimless. Matt designed it because he believed that a rimless case would be more reliable. The case also has a tapered wall thicker at bottom so it can take more pressure better. Those are the differences. You can compare with calipers.
@@teamblacksmithllc Anytime! Matt built my first two match guns. Spent quite a bit of time with him his shop talking. As he tells it, he worked with Starline brass to make .38 Supercomp. If I remember correctly, the owner of Starline promised him a percentage in the company which never happened. Matt is also an awesome instructor if you ever want to take another class from a pro. Spent two days with him back in 08'. He trucked out a ton of barricades and steel to my range at the time, Desert Sportsman's in Vegas, where the Nat's used to be held. Plan to get back into competition later this year after a 13 year hiatus. Moving to Florida. Just retired so time to get back into it. Beautiful SV by the way. I still have a couple nice STI open pistols from Ed Cameron, so I'll make them work, but I've always liked the SV's. So clean!
@@overbuiltlimited this is great information. I really appreciate this. I will definitely look into reaching out to him for training. Thanks again. This is why I started my channel to learn from people who has been through the process. Thank you.
Good morning!! They are not interchangeable for my Infinity. Infinity has tuned their race guns for the 38 super comp ammo. I would need to do more research on it but it all depends on the gun manufacturer specifications. Sorry I could not be much help. Thanks for watching.
Perfect timing with this question. I actually did this past weekend at a competition. It was happening with two of my four Infinity magazines. My other Infinity magazines were working perfectly. I never used all four magazines before. I’m going to give Infinity a call to see if I get the two retuned or replaced. Also initially I purchased the wrong 38 supercomp ammo and was having similar issues. Infinity told me to buy the Eley 38 supercomp ammo they test the guns with. Once I get these two magazines checked out, I will give an update on them. Thanks for watching.
Yes. It happened 3 times out of the 12 stages. Thats when I figured out it was the two mags. Once I tossed them back in my bag I was good to go. I was still hesitant when I was shooting because it took a while to get it out of my head.
Your gun collection is absolutely stunning, beyond stunning! Is the Infinity superior to atlas in your opinion? In build quality and performance? I've seen that you also have an atlas chaos v2.
Thank you!! Appreciate it. Infinity and Atlas are on par with each other as far as performance goes. The Infinity build and quality of materials has slight edge over Atlas. In the race guns category, Infinity is the best over the chaos. As for the non race guns, the Erebus is the best performance gun on the market. Thanks for watching.
@Team BlackSmith that's really interesting! I was thinking the first few ammo selections you tried were maybe just 38 super. Either way fantastic gun, I've been in talks with SVI on a similar build so let's see what I end up doing haha
@@jacrispy9603 yeah that is why I was confused on why the ammo was double feeding. The 124gr worked with no issues. Early congrats on your build. I’m sure it’s going to be awesome.

Yes. In my experience shooting 9major 124gr and 38 Super Comp Major 124gr. In my opinion, The Infinity manages the recoil the best even with the higher caliber.
They absolutely can be expensive but I found Eley 38 Super for $26.00 for 50 rounds. $500 for 1000 rounds. The least expensive I found so far. Thanks for the feedback.
It’s the price to pay for performance. When competing in USPSA Open Major it is the superior option. Nothing about Open Division is cheap. 9mm Major works but it will likely never outperform the 38SC for Open Major. 38SC is just a far more forgiving cartridge.
Hey Derek!! Thanks for watching. I have a short I did prior to this video. Here is the link. ruclips.net/user/shortsFzWvOqS0Av8?feature=share I am working on another comparison video soon.
The infinity Race Gun is as good as it but I also have the R1 too. Let me just say, Accuracy-X makes a solid race gun. You would not be disappointed with the R1. It definitely competes with the best of them. Thanks for watching!!

in your opinion, whats the best caliber for a major compensated race gun? 38 super?
Hey Thomas. In my opinion shooting both 9 major and 38 super, I believe 38 super is the best caliber for a race gun. The 38 super ammo cycles my race gun faster than 9 major. Other’s opinions may vary. Thanks for the question and for watching.
I’m amazed that you bought this open gun and not realizing that you need major power factor ammunition.

DAMN... I miss my SVI 38 super... what a sweet gun.
Hey Jennifer!! Come on!! Get it back into your collection 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽. Thanks for watching. Appreciate it.
That's kind of annoying. Only 1 brand of off-the -shelf ammo will feed. :) though, most guys that compete use hand-loads so......
Very annoying because I haven’t tried to make my own. I did buy 3000 rounds just in case they go out of business 💯💯💯. Thanks for the watching.
Are you running factory ammo? That brass is dribbling out ?
Hey Michael. Yes but that’s the ammo Infinity uses for their 38 SuperComps. Eley 38 Super Comp Major. Thanks for watching. Appreciate the feedback
