@@GrimmSpeed realistically changing my plans of purchase to go to Grimspeed just for the simple fact of your customer support through these videos so good job haha
8:11 When did you guys remove the 44651AD950 (44651K*A) and 44651AD960 (44651K*B) heat shield pieces that shroud the portion of the exhaust manifold where the pipes merge into their connection point with the turbo?
Good question, check out our product page for a detailed breakdown of how these differ from OE units. www.grimmspeed.com/equal-length-header-2015-21-wrx/
What are the torque specs for the bolts that go into the turbo itself? I'm not installing this specific Grimmspeed product but I'm in the process of installing your EBCS and Chargepipe right now and I'm wondering if you guys know the torque spec's for those. Thanks!
I just installed this and I'm getting smoke from where the header meets the turbo. Is this normal for first startup or should I be concerned? After market catted downpipe and cutback also installed
Assuming you are referring to the GS header, we haven't confirmed fitment for Forester's ourselves, but we believe they should fit. The factory header is the same part number. Keep in mind generation changes. For more info on this, feel free to give our customer service team a call. They would be better suited to give you a solid answer. As far as turbos, GS turbos fit on *most EJ series engines. Again, call for confirmation if you have any doubts.
Judging by the angle of the studs on the turbo and cylinders plus the heatshield u need to remove to access upper bolts, you are not able to do so without taking the whole thing off, the FA24 is not like this tho
Nice 👍. I always need more tools and time, always. I'm curious how long it takes robots to make the factory headers. How much longer and extra effort it would take the same robot to build a header similar to the Grimm Speed unit? Better pipe, better flanges, and jigs is all that isneeded so I'm curious why factory (exhaust) stuff always looks low rent. If machines/robots can cut and bend the pipe, then weld it after its in the jig, the only limiting factor is cost...but that cost is reduced by magnitude of scale.
It's so early in the WRX release that there isn't really much information about that. I'd say do a quick search or compare VA rack vs VB rack and see the differences.
@@GrimmSpeed Nice video! Honestly, EGR is more of a pain in the ass than what this looks. Nothing about this install is hard to get too. All depends on how much of a pain the nuts want to be.
I'm not sure if this is worth the trouble on my 2015 WRX. I have my exhaust aftermarket from turbo onwards. When I replaced the J-Pipe that was a huge pain. Removing the muffler components was also a hard thing to do with the rusting on it with bolts etc. Real nice when everything is just surface rust and such :).
Sound clip would be awesome!
Good amount of information. I personally like they narrator in all of your DIY videos and the BG music doesn’t disturb 👍🏻
Thanks for the positive feedback! Glad you like them!
@@GrimmSpeed see you guys at the #SubieFest Midwest
Awesome video, definitely going to do this soon. Already have full grimmspeed exhaust system and love it.
EXCELLENT video. This was very well done and extremely informative. What a step by step video should be. Definitely my next upgrade.
Thank you for the feedback! Glad it was helpful!
Best tutorial thank you got my headers installed!! 👏
Woooo! Can't wait til mine arrive at import image racing!
Hope you enjoy it!
Can you not just unbolt the header from the turbo(and cylinder heads) without removing the turbo?
Since this requires no tune are there power gains over stock just bolting it on?
Just want to ask if it is fine not putting back the heat shield from the turbo because on your videos doesn’t have any?
Would love to see this done on the 15+ sti. Awesome video
Maybe one day!
Today is the day
Very well detailed thank you will be doing this this year
Glad it was helpful!

It's all in the details. We do our best to support you through the whole process, from buying to installing to trouble shooting if any issues arise.
Does installation require a tune afterwards?
@grimmspeed do you need to do anything with the big hot side turbo heat shield? Video doesn’t show what to do with it. Or can I just toss it?

@@Smljhndnsmr also interested to know this. My shield is rattling up a storm
Hate to drill holes for EGTs but oh well.
Dang wish you would of gave an idle or rev with them installed
You are right, we should have done that.
Should I wrap mine before I install?
You can if you want!
How are these headers different from stock? they look the same.

5.5 ft/lb on the turbo inlet bolts. 11.8 ft/lb on the charge pipe bolts.

Just a question this headers fits in a 2014 forester xt????
We haven't confirmed for ourselves, but we believe they should fit. The factory header is the same part number, so it should bolt up just fine.
I have a 2018 perfect fit
Nice video, enjoyed it, I own a forester, can I add your manifold and turbo to my car..

Just not gonna show how take that third bolt off on bottom of manifold ? Cuz I’m stuck now cuz u just skip that part … like bro come on
Would this fit on similar year Forester XTs?
Yes sir it does 100%
What's the estimated gains with and without a tune?
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Can you guys check what roof racks work with the 22 wrx?

I too would like to know this.
holy shit thats a whole lotta shit to do just to change the exhaust manifold... ill pass
yeah after seeing all that goes into it ill just wait till i either do an upgraded turbo or if i get a short block
It is a relatively intimidating install. But we hope that our install video gives you all the knowledge and confidence to preform the job correctly.
You're obviously not built for this life lol.

Why put headers on a car and not go catless exhaust!? Wasting $$. If yer gonna mod, go all the way
