I also use magazines and catalogs for pictures in some thrifted frames. I found a great one in the Balsam Hill fall catalog. It had a double set of black doors, brick steps and beautiful fall garlands and planters. It looks great above my console table in the dining room
I frame advertising and magazine photos all the time. As long as your not selling them, you can photocopy them onto a paper with more tooth to give it a more real painting effect. I also use the waterlogue app to make them seem as if they are watercolor paintings.
